Today, I've just heard on the radio (and this is the sort of information that is considered as being newsworthy these days, though that is not at all a bad reflection on the city of Sheffield itself) marks the 'anniversary' of the release of the film 'The Full Monty'.
Sheffield was dying THEN. It must be something approaching its death throes by now, and if it isn't, the new ULEZ charges will finish it off.
Don't think that I'm writing this in the sense that I'm poking fun at the demise of what was once a great and important Industrial city:I'm not. But what I will say, knowing that Sheffield is a very strong Labour voting area, is that you reap what you sow;this is what Labour lead councils do for their citizens............ and I'm no (not any more anyway) Tory supporters. Both Sunak and Starmer are out and out TRAITORS as far as I'm concerned, so if you want to save your city, vote the Labour b*****ds out, but don't vote Tory either (not that traditional Labour voters would ever dream of doing that anyway). What is needed is a new party like Reform or Reclaim to smash the totally defunct, stale, way past its sell by date, two party system. Anything else and, if you are aware of the WEF globalist agenda of which both Sunak and Starmer are protagonists, this country and the lives of its people ARE DOOMED.

I think these taxes are a disgrace, they are too high for the small businesses and self employed and those on normal wages, never mind low wages. It's an aggressive tax against the poorest and makes absolutely no difference to the richest who will be privileged to pollute, regardless of whether their activity is a vital service for the people, from care workers to fire service, builders, food transport and supermarket workers...all will be absolutely hammered by this.

If you believe that then you are as delusional as Sadiq Khan all this will do is push the prices of goods up in London this causing Londoners more pain on the cost of living. Londoners already have the highest cost of living in the country and when the £300 per day this if there are 4 deliveries in a day then each delivery recipient will have his haulage increase by another £75 per delivery and that gets passed onto the businesses and shops of London as it will because the haulage firms won't just absorb the cost into their business without passing it on to their customers who in turn will pass it onto the end customer for the same reasons as the haulage firms. In other words they can't absorb it in their business so will pass it on this this £300 per day or £75 per delivery address will get divided up into at most 4 deliveries per day effectively splitting the cost between the 4 businesses who will pass that on to their customers plus the extra profit margin added which will make the cost of living to normal Londoners rise by a substantial amount when the admin and profit is added on the price to the end customer

Why in 2023 do we in Britain still practise representative democracy anyway? Is it not about time we began to follow Switzerlands model and start moving towards direct democracy where citizens actually show an interest and are involved in decision making? If citizens of Greater London had a say in the build up to the ULEZ expansion, and had shown an interest, perhaps they would now not have a peasant tax to pay, or at least, it might be a more sensible and affordable tax. £12.50 per day is simply extortion. £400 per day for large lorries as well.
