crazy, but then you realise that every album since then has been the most sold and profitable rock album of the year. With Favourite Worst Nightmare, Humbug, Suck It And See, AM, TBHC, all being the number one albums of the year in the UK with Suck It And See, AM, TBHC all being successes in the USA too. Their last album was the second best album of 2022, but narrowly behind Taylor Swift (who's considered one of the best artists of all time)... It's mad how a boy who got a guitar for christmas would be a lead singer for one of the mist successful bands of all time and most certainly one of the greatest rock bands of all time. Every album theyve released have been massive hits.
@@04mdsimps yeah ik. but theres no denying that Arctic Monleys got better. A prime example of this is what theyre doing now. They went from indie rock, to a more defined indie rock, to a heavy rock in humbug, to pop rock in suck it and see, to modern rock in AM that was so good it revitalised rock itself. to knowing they didnt need more money, so they started making what they wanted rather than being obsessed with reviews. Whatever People Say I Am Thats Whay I'm Not will always be great, hell my best and favourite memories are from that album, but you cant deny that they're music making ability and songs got bettter afterwards. And the sales show that. Crying Lightning is still one of their best songs, so is Do I Wanna Know. Theyre both amazing pieces of work and some of their best bcs theyre such difficult tunes to sing to, they mean a lot of the time theyre singing while playing complicated riffs but they do it so well, those songs also allow them to develop and insert new pieces into them while playing live. Body Paint, Mirrorball, and Sculptures are undoubtedly the best sings theyve made. They're not my favourites but i still love them bcs theyre so well made. Theyve got such a defined and brilliant sound now, and Alex Turner's lyric writing got better. Alex even said he doesnt like playing Dancefloor bcs its lyrics are repetitive and same-y. Theyve developed and are objectively better than they were in 2006.We all have our favourites, and thats why theyre so great. They change up theyre sound every album. But objectively theyre a lot better than they were in 2006. And theres no denying it. Even if 2006 hadnt have been as great, they still wouldve improved and been a good rock band, they just wouldnt have broke America as quickly if at all.

I was one of those people who only knew one of their songs (Do I Wanna Know), thinking that that was their only good song... how wrong I was. I got to see them live and grew the biggest love for them, but I have started to get really upset with their musical development (which is still amazing, but obviously completely different to songs like those on the Humbug album, or No Buses, or Bigger Boys and Stolen Sweethearts). I love them, so much! But I just hope that they don't lose their British style, in relation to their personalities and music and fall into a commercialised, Californian version. P.S. You can tell just how drunk Alex is when he introduces pretty visitors
"Have we..have we got time for one more?" - Alex Turner after song #2
I wish I was there. Saw them last year in Glasgow and it was amazing but this is something else
No cabe duda que la mejor etapa fue Humbug.
Si le sabes
A higher Jamie's guitar volume made the difference! It was awesome.
I'm a new fan and I dunno how I never got into AM earlier. I get really emotional when I think about the fact that I didn't relive their earlier times... Although I'm super glad to have seen them live in Poland this summer!!
what i'd give to attend a show of this era. humbug forever!!!
Their music is so freaking good, goosebumps everywhere. I can't even explain what I like about it, it just sounds absolutely fantastic.
I genuinely think this is one of if not the best footage of a concert I’ve ever seen and heard. Everything about everything is perfect
I'm so thankful this video still exists.
i'm crying during cornerstone and secret door, these song just too beautiful to hear, and sounded exactly like the original version (of course the other songs too). so much people said that humbug era is the best alex voice and i'm definitely agree with that, absolutely beautiful smooth voice, i'm so sad knowing them way too late, i'm into arctic monkeys about 1 month ago and end up fall hard to all their song. i'm obsessed to them, i'm listen to their song 24/7. and like others says too this is the best setlist ever. i hope there's a chance for me to seeing their concert:(
ps : also the biggest thanks to someone who owns this channel, thank you for uploading this concert so i can know that in 2009 there was amazing concert like this🤝❤️
yeah shame that they are no longer the same band anymore
one of their best gigs.
Its crazy how fast they dropped album 1 from their setlist. 4 songs of one of the most sold albums in british history after 5 years
crazy, but then you realise that every album since then has been the most sold and profitable rock album of the year.
@@bill4665 without album 1s success they don’t go on to have the sales of some of the later albums. Same with oasis after their first 2.5 albums
@@bill4665WPSIAIWIN is my fav AM album, but I agree with ypu, it isn’t their best musically 😊

Humbug era Alex Turner > AM era Alex Turner
I was one of those people who only knew one of their songs (Do I Wanna Know), thinking that that was their only good song... how wrong I was. I got to see them live and grew the biggest love for them, but I have started to get really upset with their musical development (which is still amazing, but obviously completely different to songs like those on the Humbug album, or No Buses, or Bigger Boys and Stolen Sweethearts). I love them, so much! But I just hope that they don't lose their British style, in relation to their personalities and music and fall into a commercialised, Californian version.
P.S. NOT FISHING FOR ANY HATE! Only an opinion
I'm just surprised you hadn't heard "I bet you look good on the dance floor" or "when the sun goes down"
Love them man but they’re changed to much it’s Alex ego he’s needs to go back . Dragging his words rest the band having to slow down . He’s unreal just go back to what worked last album was piss and I’m a massive monkeys fan . 1 maybe 2 good tunes
@@irishrepublicanarmy161completely agree, I love body paint, rest of the album is garbage
clearly their best concert of the humbug era

It's 2016 and we still here watching this
Adriano Ferreira 2017*
almost 2018
2018. Started listening to them on 2009, I'm getting nostalgic
2019*
It’s 2019...
I loved Secret door and fluorescent adolescent, i think this era of fluorescent adolescent was the best.
Awkward Liberty This is the favourite worst nightmare era though
Its when humbug came out. And favourite worst nightmare was 2007
Fluorescent adolescent is from favourite worst nightmare what are you talking about
Oh I thought you meant this show
Someone sounds pissed lol
This is by far their best set list to date.
What an album, can get lost in this one forever...
Truly one of the best live I've seen.
their best era. humbug is an absolute masterpiece and deserves way more recognition
Best version of Fluorescent Adolescent PERIOD
the best live perfomance after glastonbury 2007
+Alex OMalley
Agree...
The best Arctic Monkeys setlist I've ever seen, I would pay absurd amounts to see this live back in 2009
This version of fluorescent adolescent bring me to life ❤
505 gives me chills every time, even when Alex cant remember the lyrics, also i was scare that he fall from the stage at the end of the show.
They covered Red Right Hand before it got popular through Peaky Blinders, Respect👌
37:48 that verse is so poetic and emotional
