Aegon is nowhere near the level of craziness of Joffrey
He will be, he also a grapist
yea joffery was a coward that didnt fight while aegon was a brave warrior that fought his own battles.
yeah i dont even know why people compare him to joffrey. joffrey was in league w/ ramsay not aegon
Aegon hasnt been as bad as he can be. Yet. But lets not forget aegon is a r@pist. And is older and therefore more aware of the things hes doing and their consequences
@@corsicanluluExcept Ramsay was also not shy to fight/kill people himself
Aegon is nowhere near a psychopath like joffrey
They say, “here comes Joffrey” when Aegon goes to kill the man who slit the throat , then cut the head off of his 7 year old son. Like what?
*his 4 year old son
I hate Otto but I have to say he was the highlight of this episode for me especially the scene where Aegon is dismissing him, rhys ifans acting is phenomenal
i have seen a few reactions to this episode and having read the books its funny how so many have yet to understand daemon. reality is, you don't even have to read the books, just watch the show with attention...its all there!!!
I cant get over how Rhaenyra says the word tool xD
Suzy. Why are you calling Cristen Cole Chadley for?
What's that name mean?
I feel for daemon though... Both him and rhaenyra were correct in there argument... The only thing her and her father didn't trust him... But he didn't do the things they don't trust him for... I believe him... He hasnt actually lied to anyone in his family... Not even once... Check the show
the difference between Joffrey and Aegon is that Aegon does in fact have redeeming qualities (not many) honestly if they characterize Aegon the same as in the books he is possibly one of the characters that develops the most throughout the war, Aegon and Aemond carry the green team on the back
daeron carried as well winning those battles and getting other houses and dragonseeds to help the greens.
@@etcjr24 You bring up a good point about Dareon. The first battle he fought was the largest battle in the war in terms soldiers.
@@MrMarvel1991 yep
I think Daemon's main flaw is that he has to always be the one in control. In almost every situation that he lost control in, he either lashed out, or ran off.
-At the beginning of ep1, Daemon told Rhaenys the phrase "a son for a son".
-When Daemon told blood n cheese, to kill Aemond, they cut away so we dont hear what he told em to do if they couldn't find Aemond but....
-When Cheese had Helena at knife point, Blood said WTF "he said A SON FOR A SON". So Daemon told them.
People need to stop comparing Aegon with Joffrey. They’re nothing alike
So an eye for an eye is not ok because it's Alicent but a son for a son is ok because it's against the greens ? Damn the bias here.
Killing Aemond would have been necessary revenge and would have been effective, but killing small Jaehaerys will only bring problems for Rhaenyra in the long run.
And of course Aegon is immature and irrational, he just lost his son and didn't want to be King. And no, Aegon doesn't blame Heleana. His actor said they can't communicate, as they were forced to be married and never wanted to.
We can like who we want I'm not trying to convince team green to switch sides.
I know! The hypocrisy here. I still remember how (not just them btw) everybody said that Alicent was crazy for demanding JUSTICE for her son💚💚💚. Now Rhaenyra does deserve justice apparently.
@@DukeJimbob Of course ! I'm not asking them to like the greens or Aegon. It's just the hypocrisy and bias of it all. Jaehaerys was an innocent that wasn't revenge, it will bring more issues for team black. If it was Aemond, I wouldn't say this.
The "what did you think would happen ?" when Aegon grieves his child was weird. Not even Rhaenyra thought it would happen.
@@anabourdieu I think both sides are disgusting honestly but gotta pick someone I guess
@@DukeJimbobAfter the Jahaerys’ murder, I switched sides.
Daemon is closer to Joffrey than Aegon is. And I don't even like Aegon, but people ignore the shit Daemon does.
Fax
Nah lmao😂😂😂
@overvoid6691you mean copium😂😂
Absolutely agree!
@@lucasbelmonte2832 I said that Daemon is closer to Joffrey than Aegon and not that Daemon is the same as Joffrey. And regarding Martin, he might like a problematic character.
i honestly don't know how the hell you guys never run out of conversations for the intro. all of your channel's intros would probably equal all the conversations i've had in my entire life.
Daemon has always tried to convince himself that he doesn’t care about the Iron Throne, but deep down, he does. He hoped to be a powerful supporter for someone strong, initially believing that person was Rhaenyra. He saw her as his queen, placed the crown on her head, and served as her right-hand man.
However, Daemon now sees Rhaenyra as too much like Viserys: weak and unwilling to shed blood, yet dreaming of the Iron Throne. He believes Targaryens should wage war boldly, not timidly. To him, Rhaenyra no longer embodies the Targaryen spirit and is unworthy of the throne, leading to his disappointment and anger.
I disagree with his definition of strong and weak.
*like Alicent said, "reluctance to murder is not a weakness."
@@that.ll_do_pig yeah,but they are Targaryen.
"I can tell them apart"
"They look so different!"
5 minutes later:
"I don't know which one is which!"
Just as planned, my friends, just as planned.
Otto calling that brother's master plan a prank was diabolical 😭
Rhaenyra actually has two blonde children.....her youngest two lol
the opening tells the story of the Targaryens since the conquest.
the 3 dragons in the beginning are Aegon and his sisters.
the king with the dagger is maegor the cruel, who mysterious died on the throne.
then, he's succeeded by Jaehaerys, that old king from the very first episode.
and then there's Rhaenyra and Aegon sitting on their thrones
Already blaming Aegon for the murder of his child lmaoo I don’t need to watch the rest of this crap.
23:17 *she said right here that it's 100% Daemon's fault. 🤨
I am team black all the way and Helaena is the only green that I like. Both twins are a good and loyal man they just on opposite sides thats all.
Truth!!
Helaena literally says “what if he doesn’t want to be king” in the first episode. She does not care about him being an heir she cared about his happiness despite knowing he was going to die
You don’t know what a King Consirt is? The UK had one for all of Elizabeth II’s reign. It’s when the queen has the power and the husband is only king by marriage.
Philip was prince consort, not king consort. If he was king (consort) then there would be some confusion as to who was ruling so it was decided that he would remain Prince. Honestly, I was surprised that the show decided to call Daemon king and not prince, considering that there has never been a regnant queen in Westeros.
@@aurabluestar6726 Can you imagine the poor man having to throw a tantrum in two separate series about being "prince consort"? Especially when in the second one he plays a broody salty hothead that was already bitter about not being the King.
Haven't read through all the comments, someone's already said this i'm sure, but Helaena we know is a dreamer, a prophet, or a Dragon Dreamer (like Aegon the Conqueror). Often times, those few Targaryens who were born with prophetic abilities paid for that with power in other means. In Helaena's case she is clearly somewhat autistic as a result of whatever genetic magic has made her clairvoyant. Avoiding people, awkwardly unsocial, doesn't get body language ques, afraid of interpersonal interactions outside those she knows in her family, etc. The thing about Helaena is, she's seeing the future, not just their immediate future, but i think the entire future of the song of ice and fire. The only problem is she can't express that meaningfully because of the autism. She knew enough to be afraid of the rats, she felt scared, but didn't know how to say exactly why. When she stares up at the falling petals during the funeral procession i think she's feeling that uneasiness because of what will happen almost 200 years later, when it will be ash falling and not petals. She can't express it, it's a feeling, and combined with her autism it amps up her anxiety tenfold.
As for the intro, i'll be as brief as i can be (which is not much in text form):
1st shot: the first drop of Valyrian blood
2nd shot: The blood of Valyria flows down the Anogrion (blood magic temple) in Valyria
3rd shot: the blood flows to a dragon with fire wings and a human face (the creation and taming of the dragons)
4th shot: The Valyrians commit blood sacrifice binding Valyrian souls of the sacrificed to the dragons for each noble household, creating the dragonbond, which is how the Valyrians control the dragons (the dragons are inhabited in part by the soul of the ancestor that was sacrificed, this is why only Targaryens can control Targaryen dragons, they recognize their own)* *this is popular theory and not yet confirmed, but HotD seems to be slowly confirming it.
5th shot: Daenys the dreamer holds a dead Valyrian woman, referencing her dream of the doom and warning for house Targaryen to flee Valyria before it's too late.
6th shot: The doom of Valyria occurs and the Valyria freehold falls, leaving the Targaryens as the sole surviving noble dragon riders (House Velaryon, a vassal of house Targaryen also flees ahead of them)
7th shot: Aegon the Conqueror and his 2-sister wives riding Balerion, Vhagar, and Meraxes begin the conquest of Westeros
8th shot: The burning of Harrenhal, Harren the black lies dead in the center of his armies as Balerion to the right and Vhagar to the left are portrayed on either side, with the body of Meraxes (already dead by this point) lay in the sands of Dorne where it was killed at the top slightly off screen.
9th shot: The submission of westeros, houses Arryn, Stark, and Tully bend the knee without fighting
10th Shot: The Targaryen's become the royal house of westeros founding the Targaryen Dynasty and building king's landing.
11th shot: Maegor the Cruel is killed on the Iron throne, leading to the coronation of:
12th shot: King Jaeharys and Queen Alysanne (flanked by their dragons Vermithor and Silverwing) and their peaceful, prosperous, and long rule
13th Shot: The great council where Viserys is chosen heir and is to become king
14th Shot: The green dress moment, young Alicent has chosen her side, team green and team black face each other across the table, with Rhaenya opposite Alicent
15th Shot: The Dueling Monarchs, King Aeon II Rules on the Iron Thrones in King's Landing, Queen Rhaenyra I rules on the throne of Dragonstone at Dragonstone, the sides are drawn and the conflict is set, it's time to see who can dance.
16th and final shot: Vhagar and Aemond kill Lucerys and Arrax beginning the dance of dragons.
"its so easy to tell them apart" *5 minutes later* "WHO IS WHO???"
The big event WAS the twins dying. It's a huge event in Westerosi history. In the GOT books, more than one character references it. The ultimate struggle of honor, brother against brother. I bawl every time I see it. They continued to love each other despite being on opposing sides. Makes me think of the American Civil War, where brothers were also fighting brothers, both believing they were in the right.
Fun fact Rhaneyra has the same grandparents(on her father’s side) as her kids with Daemon.
Emma D'arcy is shot so beautifully this episode.
Yeah, she looks younger this season lol
Daemon doesn’t come across as a nice guy at all 😂💚
Well, he did kill his first wife, neglected his second wife, and briefly choked Rhaenyra(his third wife), so...
@@dwnkaomwn3953true but I don't really consider his killing of the first wife as murder. We weren't allowed to see what his real intent was by going there. The horse spooked and the fall paralyzed her and he reached for a rock after she goaded him about "not being able to finish."
That said, he was still a shitty husband to her.
@@that.ll_do_pig He wore his murder hood. That is proof enough for me.
@@that.ll_do_pig she hated him since they were forced to be married. She was 19 and he was just 16 and had to be Dragged to the wedding
@@lucasbelmonte2832 Was he? Even if he did love Laena as he claimed, the love he has for Rhaenyra surpasses his love for her and Laena knew that before she died. Daemon was happy "enough"(his words) with Laena. Daemon wasn't really happy in Pentos neither, because as Laena said he would spend some time into the city over being in the library all the time.
The intro is the history of House Targaryen. The first image is Daenys Targaryen. A Targaryen Lady who had a prophetic dream of the destruction of the Valyrian Freehold - the territory that House Targaryen originates from in Essos. This prompted House Targaryen to move to Drgonstone in Westeros. The second image in the opening is the Doom of Valyria where all the dragon riders of Valyria aside from the Targaryens died. The third image is of Aegon's Conquest of Westeros. The fourth image is of dragons burning Harrenhal in the conquest. The fifth image is of Torrhen Stark bending the knee to Aegon The Conquerer. The sixth image is of the sigil of House Targaryen signifying their victory of Westeros. The seventh image is of Aegon's son, King Maegor who died on the Iron Throne in a mysterious incident. The next image is of Jaehaerys - the king in the prologue of HOTD. Then the next image is the Great Council from the prologue. Then there's Alicent's dress, the Green/Black split, and the crowning of Aegon II and Rhaenyra. The final image on the tapestry is of Aemond and Vhagar killing Lucerys.
How does Alicent care for her son? Aegon is crying and she goes away to Crispin instead to hold him like Rhaenyra did with Jace last episode. Aemond goes to Madame because she holds him in her arms instead of her mother. Greetings from Germany
The audacity to compare Aegon to joffrey😂...Aegon can actually back his talk....you're going to see in the coming episodes
It ia maegor the cruel..who died sitting in the iron throne..
You guys having deja vu of Elden Ring isn't a coincidence, because GRRM was the one who wrote the worldbuilding lore stuff for the Elden Ring game.
comparing joffrey to aegon is insane 💀
Aegon doesn't blame Helaena, he wants to comfort her but doesn't know how, they share pain but can't be there for each other.
And Aegon is not joffrey, Rhaenyra is not Daenerys.
Us skinny dudes really catching strays from that Aemond body reveal lmao
slay lol
Both your accents are a perfect fit for this reaction 😊
Uhh. When the ratcatcher asked what if he could not find Aemond. Daemon gave him a funny look and didn't say anything. That was clearly an imply of "A son for a son". So yeah, it was 100% Daemon's fault.
cole's blackmail against arryk was admittedly clever but it shouldn't have worked. arryk insisted he was with king aegon when the wee prince was capped. as lord commander, the kingsguard buck stops with cole, but how is his ultimatum supposed to work? he's threatening to tell the king that his own personal guard is disloyal and responsible for the murder while said guard was in fact on duty protecting the king. i don't think aegon's so unhinged that he'd agree.
So happy episode two is out! I love the beginning conversations of these videos. ❤
Last season, Mysaria told Daemon that she had escaped the bondage of her childhood and she had ensured that she would never have a child (this was on Dragonstone when Daemon was pretending he'd marry her).
It's suspected that her scar is from the collar she was forced to wear as a slave in one of the cities that Daenerys frees in GoT.
Joffrey killed animals and people for fun and you compare him to Aegon who is very much a complex character?
I mean Aegon bets on children fighting and put his bastard sons in those same fighting pits. He also raped one of his serving girls and bullied the shit out of Aemond. He might be complex but he's still a cunt. - Steejo
@@SuzySteejo I agree. Just saying that those first two events are said by 1 person and might not even be true.
All I'm saying I'm loving the actor this season, he's killing it.
They are making Team black so boring.
daemon doesn't want the throne
So happy to see u guys..❤
8:30 I think Heleana knew it would happen and they were trying to play on the book where Heleana has two sons and they make her choose between the two. 11:07 The tapestry is in the opening credits is the Targaryen family history from the time they left Valyria through Aegon's conquest to the Great Council to the end of season 1 of HotD. 1:03:44 You should check out the "After tthe Episode" so you can actually get behind the mindset of the creators and it could answer some questions you've had about stylistic choices they've made to explain certain things.
Rhaenyra has 2 children with Blond Hair. Aegon Targaryen & Viserys Targaryen. Her Aegon is the one King Viserys was talking about to Alicent. And Alicent thought he was talking about her Aegon.
So steejo as you mentioned for the intro, the man with a sword in his throat. A little fun fact ,that is Maegor Targaryen, he was about 90 years before hotd. He was known as Maegor the cruel, he usurped the throne from his nephew's and was the son of Aegon the conqueror and his sister-wife Visenya. He was known for not only being cruel, being a kinslayer, and having had six wives and no heirs. He was found dead on the throne like in the intro, and it is unknown how he died. It is believed that "the throne killed him" or one of his wives or men killed him. And the person on the dragonstone throne is Rhaenyra
Tapadh leibh airson freagairt!
Arryk, and Erryk. RIP!!!
"What's he supposed to do?"
Me: Daemon could've been there for Rhaenyra at least in her time of need. That was his baby too.

lol it’s ok to just say YOU don’t watch the show
They’re both terrible but they’re not that much alike. Aegon’s primary desire seems to be heathenistic pleasure. He’s inconsiderate so he’s willing to pursue heathenistic pleasure even if it causes suffering for others (he might not even notice).
For Joffrey, though, the suffering is the end goal. He wants to see the suffering on his victim’s faces. Plus Aegon lacks Joffrey’s confidence
The tapestry shows the Targaryen history from the fall of Valyera to the current state of the family: Aegon on one throne and Rhanyera on the other.
36:30 she’s an adult dwarf
That’s rhaenyra sitting on the dragonstone throne! In the tapestry intro at the end.
Cole should've been standing guard outside of helaena's room like he once did for Rhaenyra but instead he sent the guards away and himself so he could have some privacy with Alicent
Could be wrong but I don't think that's true I think that's just a rumor the internet grabbed onto because we hate him so much. But there's two conversations in the episode that kind of exonerate cole from being on watch. One being when he's being a pissant to sir arryk he says that arryk was supposed to be on watch. If that was a lie and it was supposed to be Cole than Arryk would have thrown it back in his face. Also in the council meeting at the start when Aegon questions Cole where he was he says he was "abed". If indeed he was supposed to be on watch guarding halaena or anyone for that matter I don't think saying he was in bed would have room very well . Pretty sure he would have been killed right then and there if he was supposed to be guarding that specific room and his only excuse was he was sleeping
Sujo should be it's name after u both xx
If your wondering where Daemon went he went to go an take harrenhall for Rhaenerya. Not only because they need it but also to prove his loyalty ❤. And actually Cristian Cole was supposed to be protecting Helena and her kids (when blood and cheese happened). Because he was sworn to Alicent when she was "queen" (which she isn't anymore) so it would to pass down to Helena when she became Queen. But he was to busy having sex with Alicent 🙄😒....Because Otto told him to go back to his post and that definitely isn't Alicents bed. It was supposed to be guarding Helena (who was with her kids) even Aegon yelled at him because he was "abed" when he should have been protecting his Heir to the throne. So it's Coles fault, let's be real he would been able to handle blood and cheese easily. But he was to busy with Alicent.
I thought the same thing but then when he got in the fight with Aryk (sp?), Aryk yelled at him about the Queen not having been assigned a protector.
@@that.ll_do_pig I felt that for a second too, but it also doesn't seem like he is assigned as Alicent guard anymore since she is just the Kings mother. And His wife an kids would be more important then his mom. No offense. Otherwise why would Aegon be so mad that he wasn't at his post. And why does Alicent need to tell Helena to keep quiet about what she saw (her and Cole) and I don't think it's just because Cole is a Lord Commander of the kings guard who broke his oath. Because yea he was Alicent sworn protector at one point until he was made lord Commander of the kings guard since last guy left. So his job isn't to just protect Alicent anymore, it's the royal family (the greens side since he doesn't like Rhaenerya and thinks shes the usurper 🙄😒 even tho otto just admitted it was them) and Aegon asks Cole why he wasn't watching his Heir. And Cole was obviously feeling guilty because he was not only sleeping with Alicent (which he is supposed to remain celibate) but do to also be doing it while on the job. And being responsible for not preventing the crime from happening had he been standing guard at Helenas door. He should have assigned some other guard if he wasn't gonna be there, he is the lord Commander, other white cloaks gotta listen to him to a good extent. But he didn't want explain why he was absent (due to willingly wanting to break celibacy Oath, people try to say oh he had no choice with Rhaenerya (which i call bs)..because he does not only have a choice, because in doing so that's breaking one of the big oaths they have. And you can tell it wasn't the first time with Alicent, and won't be the last which is a mistake on Alicents part) and that's why he snapped at (arrek) for not stopping it. Even tho Arrek was doing his job the same couldn't be said for Cole. He gaslit, an manipulated the guy, going on about honor when he doesn't know the meaning. He does litterly the worst at his job but constantly gets promoted. Aegon shouldn't have promoted him till the plan of sending the twin was a succes. He celebrated his win to quickly an didn't even think when he made Cole his hand. He just did it. And I agree with Otto for once, it will be Aegons biggest mistake.
the mascot is a Phrygien cap btw
Yay! Your HotD reactions are always fun to watch! 🔥🐲 I wish I could join in on patreon but I'm not rich... So I'll just continue to support you here. 💜
Hypocrite Criston "Chadley" Cole... I hate him so much! 😡 Helaena and Jahaerys was innocent and I feel for poor Helaena. They did not deserve this. But being good and innocent in this world will rarely get you a happy ending.
"Chadley" should have been guarding both Helaena and the children at all times or had some guards around them but nope. Such a useless piece of garbage who only blame everyone else and project (and deflect) everything onto Arryk instead of being a man and say that he f*cked up/f*cked Aegon's mum. He is the worst and I can't wait to watch him die! I hope it's gruesome and slow. 😁
Otto is way in over his head with trying, and failing, to control Aegon and is now regretting this too late. 😅
A tragic end to two good knights. Arryk and Erryk was also two good people (just on different sides) getting in the middle of the royal f*uckery that is HotD. Sad to see them both die. It was so unnecessary. 💔
@00:14: it is a Phrygian cap. It was adopted during the Revolution as a symbol of the fight for freedom and then became the symbol of the Republic and all its values. But it was initially used during the Roman Empire: freed slaves wore it during their emancipation ceremony and it symbolized their newfound liberty. On the famous 1830 Delacroix painting ‘Liberty leading the People’, Marianne (the incarnation of the French Republic) is wearing one.
The plushie is a phrygian hat. It was popular during the french revolution, and you can see one on the famous painting "Liberty guiding the People" by Delacroix (where Liberty, holding the flag, wears such a hat).
It was somewhat memed in France when the mascot was revealed (because it looks somewhat like an upside down lady's reproductive system in a simplified anatomic map)
The mascot is a Phrygian hat (symbol of the French revolution), the opening sequence murdered king is king Maegor (couple generations before the story), Aegon is more Robert than Joffrey - He also didn't want to be king, you can't blame him for his son's death...
The king on the throne with part of the throne in his neck was Meagor the Terrible. The tapestry is the history of the Targaryen Dynasty from the Doom to the present.
That is Rhaenyra’s old room. You guys are the first reactors to realize that as far as I have seen.
The actor who played Rhaenyra’s Errik has said it was him that won the fight with his twin. You were right about that.
I was very happy they finally mentioned Daeron Alicent and Viserys 3rd son who is in Oldtown. Otto said Daeron may be easier to manipulate.
