Alice was having so much fun. Plus the look on Nellie's face when that jacket came off. I don't think i've smiled as big or giggled as hard at any other moment in the series. And way to go Albert!
Charles is right, there are a lot more important things in this world than being popular. And being true to yourself is one of them. I never thought of it that way before. Being popular might sound fun at first until you think you can't take it anymore when people might expect too much from you.
HAHAHA I loved the ending and I love Alice. It's so sad she died in that horrible fire...I was 11 when I first saw it, and am almost 40 now, but I cant forget it!!! Can't help thinking about it whenever I see her...
She did pass the last test afterwards. But she didn't get to cheat on that one. Since she passed the last test, Ms. Garvey let her be promoted. Although she got humiliated in front of the class.
The end is hilarious. Hahaha Nellie is caught and her jacket is taken. I like harriets réaction rofl. " Nellie youre not as bright as that.'You deserved a good lesson.
Even though Nellie did deserve it, I kind of feel bad for her. You would've thinked that she would've learned something from all that cheating. Alison Arngrim mentions that Catherine MacGregor really did hit her hard with the jacket in the ending. The buttons were hard when Catherine hit Alison. So the screaming and running away was actaully real.
absolutely right. that's why I love LHOP and Michael Landing. it teaches people good traditional values that a lot of parents these days don't teach. popularity is phony. in reality, nobody's perfect. we all should help each other be better human beings the honest way.
@sjssrox Exactly! It's like she always has to act mature when she should act her own age and play. She shouldn't have to worry about problems like this and she should mind her own buisness. Be a kid Laura and go play! lol. That's true, I think she got it from her family. It's ok, but to a point. Like this ep.
John Garby was to nice of a man, I find it hard to believe he beat Andy. In fact I bet Andy didn't even get a whipping in that barn. Poor Nellie, Michael Landon was sure hard on her when he wrote the scripts for the character. Imagine that, eveybody who cheated and lied in this episode gets no punishment but Nellie, she gets spanked on the street and in front of her classmates and rival enemies. Not fairl ML! :D
Some of you say Laura should have minded her own business, but really she was just being a friend. Andy finally couldn't take it anymore, and confided in her, he even seemed like he was glad someone had caught him. Laura knew Andy, and knew he wouldn't do something like that as far as cheating and it had to make him feel rotten, and it did. Nellie gets away with too much shit at the expense of others, I didn't blame her for telling Alice, and even Alice learned something from all of this too.
i heard at the end when Harriet is hitting her with the sweater and she is running and screaming that was true because there were buttons on it that were hurting her so that wasn't all acting it was real!
@boogie1971 Because there was no proof that Nellie had cheated ALL the way through. As far as Alice was concerned, Nellie had been cheating recently on those tests, and possibly had to do make up assignments. Nellie was never stupid, but she may had gotten lazy.
@Disneyfan82 i blame high school for that. well and middle, popularity seemed like the most important thing in the world, luckily when we exit those institutions we find out being head cheerleader isn't going to mean crap when you're looking for a high paying job or trying to get decent grades in college. the world is so much bigger then we realized. at least for me.
heck if i were mrs garvey i would have said unfortunately since nellie has been cheating all along i don't know for sure that she is ready to be promoted, we will have to retest her on everything and determine it that way. ha make it sting a little more, she deserved it blackmailing andy like that.
@crybabygirl08 yea dont u think she always has this look like she feels she's older and all full of drama in her head, when actually at her age, kids should just let things go and play! lol i think she gets the whole lil miss goodie goodie from her family the ingalls are sooooo perfect~lol
One of the greatest Nellie episodes.
Alice was having so much fun. Plus the look on Nellie's face when that jacket came off. I don't think i've smiled as big or giggled as hard at any other moment in the series. And way to go Albert!

Loved seeing Mrs Oleson blow her stack. Too funny!

HAHAHA
I loved the ending and I love Alice.
It's so sad she died in that horrible fire...I was 11 when I first saw it, and am almost 40 now, but I cant forget it!!!
Can't help thinking about it whenever I see her...
LOL this is the first time I've ever seen Harriet get mad at Nellie!
She did pass the last test afterwards.
But she didn't get to cheat on that one.
Since she passed the last test, Ms. Garvey let her be promoted.
Although she got humiliated in front of the class.
Hahahahaha I loved the ending! :D
when the teachure takes her coat shes probably thinking oh crap
Harriet is the bad character that makes the other characters fine xD
One of the very few or perhaps only time harriet punished nellie
The end is hilarious. Hahaha Nellie is caught and her jacket is taken. I like harriets réaction rofl. " Nellie youre not as bright as that.'You deserved a good lesson.

He didn´t tell her
I did
:P Love it!
Haha. I actually applauded when Alice took Nellie's jacket off!!!!!! :D
Gawd I hate Nellie so much.
absolutely right. that's why I love LHOP and Michael Landing. it teaches people good traditional values that a lot of parents these days don't teach. popularity is phony. in reality, nobody's perfect. we all should help each other be better human beings the honest way.
@Disneyfan82 Yes, and also just because ideas are "popular" doesn't necessarily mean they are right.
Now i know why one of my old teachers never let anyone wear a jacket during a test! Even if it was freezing cold we couldn't wear a jacket!
Personally, i was never popular at school, and found it easier to study, without wondering "Will this make people hate me, will it make me unpopular?"
Miss Garvey made a bad teacher. Miss Beadle never would've done that.
@sjssrox Exactly! It's like she always has to act mature when she should act her own age and play. She shouldn't have to worry about problems like this and she should mind her own buisness. Alison said in an Interview that Kathrine forgot to fold the Jacket and so these big buttons were actualy hiting Alison when she was runing!
John Garby was to nice of a man, I find it hard to believe he beat Andy. In fact I bet Andy didn't even get a whipping in that barn. @DarkMoonDesire It was said in an interview that when Harriet hit her with the coat, it actually hurt the actress playing Nellie, making her jolt.
the coat really hurt Nelly. Harriet forgot to fold it inside out. So the buttons of the coat really hurt Nelly.
Laura can get really anoying at times.
Aw hooray for Albert :)
lol harriet and nelly getting owned at the same time? oh does it get better then that!
Not really Mrs. Olsen is the mean one, every chance she gets.
@boogie1971 Because there was no proof that Nellie had cheated ALL the way through. As far as Alice was concerned, Nellie had been cheating recently on those tests, and possibly had to do make up assignments. Nellie was never stupid, but she may had gotten lazy.
Then you must really hate yourself. LOL

@Disneyfan82
True to your heart, you must be true to your heart! *ends singing*
Thought you might enjoy that, Disneyfan! ;)
@video77cy Thank you! lol. I wasn't sure if I was the only one who thought of that.
andy & Nellie both
Ms. Garvey's face at 4:42!
if u listened Andy was getting a spaking in the barn but of course he really didn't get 1 its a tv show, Nellie deserves punishment
Miss Beatle didn't have a kid as her student
@crybabygirl08 yea dont u think she always has this look like she feels she's older and all full of drama in her head, when actually at her age, kids should just let things go and play! lol i think she gets the whole lil miss goodie goodie from her family the ingalls are sooooo perfect~lol
Who is the teacher?
Errr.... Isn't the teacher kinda mean?
Rude!!! mean !! Rotten!! Whats that hateful comment got to do w this episode?? My guess is u have no friends
They all deserve punishment, not just Nellie.
Getting whipped isn't the same thing as getting beat.
