I think the assumption is that its a cheese sauce made partially with cheddar.
if you paused at the wall of ingredients, you'll see its actually a cheese SAUCE, not just slices of cheese (plus cheddar cheese flavor)

I don't understand why so few people understand how cheese works. A little flour and milk with some cheddar in a sauce pan makes creamy cheese. It's still cheddar.

Hey ya'll I'll give you a tip. 45 seconds before the steak ums finish put soy sauce or teriyaki sauce in the pan before you take them out. It brings the flavor level up for sure.

@ Amazingly nothing because I don't keep this diet, I did it only during winter breaks for purposes of survival because I was an exchange student living in the USA. The campus closed, everyone went away, I had to deal with fastfood inside a building with only a microwave. Plus I'm still in my 20s.
Put a little mayo on it and I think they are a better microwave sandwich than most out there, definitely thaw it first

Yep, I've been down to Philly and had the icon, it's good. I don't like the whiz though, so I request cheddar and I gotta have peppers n onions on it as a necessity. I do the same thing at home for my family but use tri tip, ribeye or even chicken for my wife.

I love how Wolfe gets more dismissive of the sandwich as the review goes on. I can feel his disappointment. Too bad, because I love Roast Beef and Cheddar.
So I actually tried these sandwiches yesterday because of this video because sometimes, you gotta figure things out yourself.
His review is pretty spot-on here. I tasted the sautéed onion flavor as well which isn’t a deal breaker for me on roast beef. What really turned me off is the fact that these are $5 where I’m from, and the cheese was still frozen after microwaving it to the manufacturer’s instructions.
So yeah, I wouldn’t buy these again with the price as is.

I couldn't help but feel this is one of those jokes he kicked like a dead horse with another dead horse. The first time got a chuckle out of me, the sixth had me going "We get it, it doesn't look like deli meat".

They carry them at Walmart. Margins are really high so they feature them in many stores.

Never been this early to a Wolf pit video. I bought a box at Costco I bought the swiss ones . They're not worth it. That meat tastes weird
It looks as though one of those sandwiches had a bad time on the production line. I have had these before -- the ones I had contained 6-8 pieces of the meat and good cheese coverage. They were... edible, and the texture of the meat wasn't offensive. Wasn't that tasty, though. Also, thank you for those lovely diagonal cuts, which make sandwiches taste 78.4% better! It's Science!
I used to buy the Philly Cheese Steaks from Rayburn’s. The bottom bun is always extremely soggy. To the point where it feels like it has been dunked in water for 5 minutes. The bun just drips and falls apart and is disgusting. A shame since the taste actually isn’t bad.

My husband really likes them. I bought from walmart with a coupon, then bought at Sam's club after that. The pic vs product is a JOKE. But hubby likes. I try to cook mainly from from scratch (cheaper n tastier!) But physically i just cant do it every meal anymore.... so hes happy, im in less pain so im happy which means we are all happy!!
You need to improve your diet with real food.
I get mine from the Walmart service deli section. I think they’re $2.78. Anyway, loosen the butcher paper as shown, cook for 90 seconds on 30% power, flip sandwich and cook for another 90 seconds on 30% power, and then reflip, and cook 30 seconds on high. Times will need adjusting based on microwave power and how frozen the sandwich is. Then when you take it out, put pepperoncinis or banana peppers on it. Then the sandwiches are tremendous. I don’t like chicken one, but all others are really good this way.

I think Gene Rayburn should have stuck to hosting The Match Game, and not branched out to highly processed meat sandwiches.
I have had these several times and the meat was never that wet cardboard color. It actually looked like decent roast beef meaty and when heated it looked like sauteed roast beef.
Just my experience.
I used to buy these from a vending machine we nick named "the wheel-o-death" because it always ripped off customers! I loved those sandwiches and a can of Pepsi with a bag of cheddar sun chips!

That's pretty much standard for gas station microwave sandwiches. I worked at a gas station for 3 years & I never sold a single sandwich on my shift in all that time. The distributor would come in once a week & take all the old ones away & put up new ones but I never sold any sandwiches, just lots of cigarettes.

I noticed as it flew by, the sandwich is not roast beef, it is “beef filling”. The second ingredient is “rater”, which I assume is “water”. No way you would ever find this in a NYC deli

I used to buy the bigger versions of these that they sold at Walmart all the time. I loved them. Then they got rid of them for some reason. We'd always get the Chicken Bacon Ranch, Roast Beef and Cheese, and Philly Cheese ones. The ones that come in the boxes are much smaller (like half the size).
These remind me of my father in law. He passed away last November from pancreatic cancer, and he enjoyed these!
I buy them every once in a while. They aren't the best, but I've had worse frozen food for sure.
That's how I feel. They're not the very best but not the very worst either. Like you wouldn't throw one away only to consume it again a few weeks later in a very a "decomposed" condition.

How good can a processed roast beef sandwich assembled by employees who could give a crap about quality control....Raybern's employees need to be re-educated in how to assemble a sandwich...I would recommend that Raybern management and upper corporate executives send their workers to Chick-Fil-A school of "QUALITY CONTROL! Chick-Fil_A knows a thing or two about quality control and sandwich presentation!" Now rather than later as your sandwich business will be in the dumpster where it belongs before long ...Another poor showing by a greedy-profit hungry corp...
I actually eat these from Dollar General, quite often! 😂 They suck, but they absorb Alcohol almost as fast as I Do?! 😂 Roast beef is OK, the Philly SUCKS!!!
