It seems like after Ella was put away, the parents finally understood that they created a monster and realized their wrongful doings. Why should he help them, they are their daughter's accomplices. Wow! Those parents idiots or ignorant. My parents taught us to never ever share our personal information to anyone, especially friends and family, for personal gain. Or else we'll never be able to buy a car or home when we grow up. I thank my parents for that life lesson.

OP is really shooting himself in the foot here. They were not sorry, they were desperate. They had been disowned by the golden child and had nothing to their name. They are playing the game now because its literally their only option.

I dont buy that this story is real. If you hae signed for a loan, you are legally responsible for paying it... nobody else. You arent just able to decide to stop paying it, without serious personal harm done to yourself. If you did choose to decide to stop paying the loan, at your own detriment... You wouldn't be left in a position to buy a house in your 20s.

Confused. If this is a civil trial then thete can be no jail sentence. At least in the U.S. The judge can order restitution only.
If a criminal trial, jail time for fraud and restitution but OP doesn't need a lawyer as the prosecutor handles ,u guessed it, prosecution.

The sister is not redeemable. Write her off and move on. If she tries to worm her way back into her parents and brother's lives (and she will unless they move away, change their names and block her from ever finding them) just make sure she can't. The counseling may help with that.

You may have been young at the beginning of this, but you also knew that they had mistreated you for your whole life. Yes, they're your parents but you seem to think that they would appreciate what you did for your sister. Why, I mean it's easy to cut contact. I mean I understand the wish to have them see you, but if you don't stand up for yourself then who will. Your family is not going to change. You are their cash cow.
