Hey John, yes, definitely. I know these bikes aren’t the pinnacle of two wheel engineering but in an age of rising prices people have less money to spend and the recent closures of established dealers suggest that fewer people are buying £20k bikes these days. Sales seem to be booming for the sub-500cc, sub £6k bikes so the more in this category the better. Mutt are a great group of people very focussed on what they do so I wish them a lot of success.
Loving the bike so far, some really useful features without throwing excessive technology at it. For £5grand +luggage that's a hell of a lot of bike for the money. It's going on the wish list. I really hope that they keep that LCD screen available as an optional extra because I'm not a fan of these TFT screens. That LCD screen looks alright to me, keep it simple and honest. It's ticking all the boxes for me, no bloody _rider modes_ to faff with, quick enough for real-world riding, usable low-down torque...yep, once I've got my A2 licence I will be going to Mutt. Nice video review mate! Much appreciated.
Hi, have you taken delivery of your CF.Moto MT 450 yet, I've got a test ride on Saturday but I think I've already made my mind up on ordering one but won't be here until March next year, cheers Russ.
I think it’d be perfect for that. Depends how wild the camping is though. If steep rocky tracks, it’s far heavier than an enduro. I haven’t ridden one off road, but I expect it’ll chug quite happily, but steep technical trails with camping gear are likely to be a challenge.
@@PeakMotorcycles more ‘oh that lake looks nice. I’ll trundle down this path’ I went to look at one yesterday. Almost put the deposit down without the rest of the funds 😂
@@ItsKeithRiley For path trundling, it's perfect! And for the price, there's not much else out there like it with that spec, power and capability. You can pay more for a 125 but it'll never be as settled on a motorway run, and at least with this you can overtake some things! I know some corners have been cut, but then at just over £5k with luggage, £1000 is VAT, £1000 is probably shipping, EU5 certification and UK DVA registration, so after design costs and a margin for Mutt, I guess they have around £2000-2500 for the actual bike. Just to buy the wheels, engine and electronics must take a chunk of that, so you can see why they have had to make it for a price, mostly reflected in the weight. That said, there are also a few others out there, not at this price but at closer to £6k there's the CFMoto 450MT (If you can get one... I think they are quoting February at the moment, and doesn't come with luggage) and for a few hundred more again, something like a Voge 525DSX. I'm sure you'll enjoy whatever you choose!
Sort of, but while that was a version of a Zongshen bike (that had a bored out Suzuki 250), this is mostly new, but based on the Zongshen Cyclone RX401 which was new in 2023. It’s also been updated for EU5 compliance and then had Mutt’s changes applied.
@@PeakMotorcycles the 401 is te next development of that bike, engine is still basically the same just enlarged, would like to see someone bring over the 600 with the Norton designed engine myself, priced right it could well be a winner
Depends where you live. It’ll do the speed limit quite easily in the UK. For the top speed for you, weight, luggage and pillion are likely to determine how much over the speed limit you can do.
Better is subjective. For me, no. It is heavier, but also at a lower price, so perhaps you get what you pay for. Both have tubeless wheels, a TFT dash, the 450MT has a 21/18" wheel combination to the Mutt's 19/17" so I'd expect the Mutt to handle better around town and the MT to roll better on the trails, but it's marginal. There's a few extras on the Mutt like the backlit controls, the centre stand and the TPMS as standard, and I think if coming from a 125, the Mutt is a nice progression. I don't live in a city, and would prefer the lighter weight, extra power and I don't mind paying 15% more for it. Apparently my MT is arriving at the dealer any day now and I should have it mid-September.... let's see....
Very interesting offering there. Thank you for the review. More choice and competition in a segment is always a good thing 👍

Not sure the LCD is an option I’m afraid… but the TFT should be pretty good. Good luck with it!

Hi Russ, I have. It arrived at the end of September. Just before I had a week away with work…. Good luck, may yours be here sooner.
Thoughts on using it to commute 25 miles on a motorway into Manchester and then the occasional trip to the lake district for some wild camping?

How many miles per gallon? What’s it like off-road? 👍
Haven’t ridden it off-road. I expect it’ll be ok on Forest roads/gravel tracks. Probably not up for gnarly singletrack.
updated what was the old Sinnis Terrain 380

Andre how is it to wheel around when your getting it in or out of the garage ?
Seemed pretty easy, it’s short, with a good turning circle lock to lock. It is heavy but seems to carry it low down so wasn’t particularly noticeable.
top speed?

215 kg is rather heavy. Nick
It is, but then it’s also how it feels when you ride it, and I didn’t really notice the weight when I was.
Nice one Andre...Better than a CF Moto 450MT ??...Have you got yours yet ? 🙂
