Happiness is not money, but happiness is seeing your life stable, your child happy, and your future bright. Sometimes we need money to make us happy, but it's not the money itself, but what the money brings us.

plasmanarwhal PMRants' video is no different from my comment, it's an opinion. He's of the opinion that Smith is a great performer, but not a great actor because he can't make you identify with his movie roll instead of his real name. Thanks for getting back!
This scene popped into my head when I finally got my paid job a few weeks ago. I know exactly this feeling because I felt it. And I cried...I'm loving my new job.
That 3 minutes reaction is all movie is about. It is the purest form of celebration. Huge respect to Will smith for giving such an incredible larger than life performance.
This is Will Smith at his best. This is a very inspirational movie. He never gave up on his child or himself. He heard no, but never stop fighting to hear a yes. Loved it!!!
he got his break after working hard, and now he can better his life and for his kid. I lost everything 2 years ago, and I'm still trying to find my place. Keep at it.
This was for a certainty Will Smith's best acting role---ever! Shoot, even his Son Jaden was at his best too! Well done to both of them! Will Smith should seek to make more movies like this one.
A Summit moment in a man's life.... recaptured on film a second time in an earth moving way! Job well done to Mr. Smith and the film makers that made it happen. Forever locked on film for generations to come..... Chris' story is legendary! Great post.... Thank you!
Great performance by Will; But best of all I found out what happiness is. It is an emotional state of pure contentment, sometimes accompanied by ecstasy and joy. It is an emotional reward usually attained after a long and arduous struggle. You will have to work hard, go hungry, and visit the depths of human emotion to find it. An emotional state you once had as a little child which somehow evaporated after you began this pursuit.
Yes, I agree 100%. And I enjoyed his performance. Growing up he doesn't look that convincing in other movies. Hope he won't be just another baby sesation. I think for instance Karate Kid was low and looked a bit forced in the part. I hope I said that well. Cheers
True...this is called happiness ....when u get that one thing for which u sacrificed everything...guys each and every part of your emotion is counted for that one thing...
It was a tough year when this came out. DiCaprio was double nominated for Departed & Blood Diamond and Forest Whitaker was up for Last King of Scotland. I wouldn't have minded a tie between the three of them because they were all excellent in those films, Will's like Tom Cruise & DiCaprio, should've won about five Oscars by now or at least nominated for more. Ali, Seven Pounds, Collateral Beauty, Pursuit of Happyness, I Am Legend, Six Degrees of Seperation etc.
man good acting in good roles in good films don't get an oscar. Oscars need a liberal bullshit story. A black man working hard to pull himself from homeless to a safe life for his and his son when his girl quit on it don't agree with that agenda.
lost my high pay job, struggled 6.5 years in many part time shit jobs to survive, just one interview from a part time job to get my current job, it changed my whole family's life on these 20 something years, I was tear when I watched this movie. it's so hard and effortless when you are in that situation.
we found lost our friends, lost our travels, kids leave private school to public, my wife has to go back to work after 10 yrs at home. Most terribly was lost confident, most important was don't stay at home, did whatever jobs to keep social contacts, and work hard on every chance. if I didn't wake up @3'oclock on that day to go to do that shit mail sorting job, my whole life was still in shit. And both me and my wife salary was even less than my old salary, but after these 20 years, I told you, once you got a stable life, money was not important, we found much more happy than before, we love each other in the family more as we have experience the hard time together. We ll retire very soon.😄 And we have our friends back, there was a limit on sharing hard time. but happiness have no limit. Don't give up.
Everyone should be able to relate this moment of happiness in their lives in some way or other. Will smith rocks! All the emotions just flowing out without saying a word. One of my favourite movies!
After many failures I literally had reached a point when I used to beg the HR guys to offer me a job.. I still get same kind of emotions even aftr 13 years
The part most relatable to me, is when he rushes to his son and just hugs him. Knowing that his life is going to be okay and better than yours. I’d do anything for my child and she is the first thing I consider when making any big decision.
This scene brought a big smile on my face. I am happy that through all the adversity, that has made him stronger, in the end, all that paid off and Chris is now able to provide a better life for his son.
Such a moving scene. Especially if you watched the struggles this man faced to get there. Perseverance, hard work, courage and conviction will take you far in this world. Trust me, I know first hand.
I have seen this movie for several times. Every time I saw this part I couldn't help but crying. It's so touching and encouraging. There's no doubt that it is one of Mr favorite movies ever!
As a Bouncer @ 2 of the toughest strip clubs in Philly, after being shot in the stomach & driving myself to the hospital & having my ass kicked BAD i never cried! But as far as this movie goes i am a blubbering cry baby!

This is how I felt when I got my job after a career change. After 9 months of job hunting and applying for the big firms, and passing that final stage. That moment is just the best feeling in the world.
This same joy happened to me just recently. I just graduated college and nobody was hiring me. I had an IT Degree and a History Minor. I was denied bagging groceries, working at a call center, being an IT helpdesk guy, Human Resources, sales, I couldnt even get a job being a secretary. The only job I could get was being a glorified warehouse worker moving computer desktops. Then one day I went in for an interview for a database analyst for a defense contracter that secured a 107 million dollar contract with the navy. The interviewer was wearing a 50 thousand dollar watch with an absolutely grandiose suit. The only qualifications I had was I did some minor database work my freshmen year in college. The day after the interview at 9ish in the morning they called me asking if I wanted the job. I ran out of the warehouse and cried because at this point I thought I was doomed to never accomplish anything and had lost all hope.
wow! The impressive movie ever I watched. Everybody deserve happiness , we try to get it anytime ,anywhere and by at any cost ,sometimes we even happen to hurt others to get happiness on our own. But happiness is hidden in even small things , the very tiny moment in our life that we are missing to grab it . Also , in search of happiness of our own , family we happen to do any level of struggle ,sacrificing the valued moments, even precious person ,in other words we also have to sell one happiness to get the other one also . All those above message we can get in this one full movie, one can realize the moment of happiness after long struggle ,in other words the fruit of happiness so lets watch it once to satisfy ourselve Thank you you tube team for uploading such inspirational movies.
You are all missing the point, "the pursuit of happiness is the opportunity of an open door so one can achieve his or her dreams". It's not about money.
2:30 This scene is so simple, yet so good. The joy that Chris felt when he finally got that job. That feeling when you've toiled and worked hard for so long and finally got to the top of that mountain, knowing that from this day on things will get easier that you just can't help but smile and clap your hands because you couldn't believe it is happening.
This part of my life .. is called happiness (2.19) Beautiful!! Strangely though it brought tears in my eyes ! Witnessing tears of joy and success accomplished after the worst life throws at you, I guess ! Such a beautiful inspiring true story!!
this scene made me tear up because I remember how I use to be shit broke no money no future ahead I was willing to do anything even sleeping with old ladys I was sending cvs everywhere fast forward I got the call from McDonald's and I landed a job as a cashier and this is exactly how my reaction was but I cried out of sadness
I wish I could experience this more often. The feeling he has I haven't had in a very long time. I'm only 15 but nothing goes just a tiny bit my way. You may think I'm exaggerating or looking for pity. I'm not I'm telling it how it is and I'm sure there others like me in the comment section who just wish and plead for something to go there way just once. My parents broke up 9 years ago since then my life has gone downhill. For example:My mum struggles to find and keep jobs and my dad isn't always around when I need him. School is miserable I've been in secondary school for 4-5 years now and I've applied for about 6 or 7 trips at the school and I haven't been chosen to go on a single one. My grades are good C's-B's. This year the school chose all the teenagers in our year group to spend a day at a university. I was disappointed to find out they has sent me to Bedford whereas they sent a large majority of students to Cambridge and Oxford. Despite most of them having poor behaviour. The system is unfair and broken but that's life. You just have to get back up and keep moving forward. Anyway I sincerely hope those who read this get back up and change what's going wrong in there life for the good. Stop acting like you owe people favours you want something get up and go get. It's hard trust me I know and I still haven't gotten out the negative zone but in the end it will all be worth it.
RINKU That's a good thing. It means your alive and displays empathy towards your fellow human being. The first time I saw this film I was wrecked with crying. Cute pic by the way :-)
This scene always makes my eyes water, as Will Smith is a phenomenal actor. With that said, for everyone that has struggled in life, this gives them a more of an understanding outlook/perspective on life.
I loved this film and i'm glad i watched it before I read the book, because if i'd read the book first i would have been disappointed when I heard Will Smith took the role. the sad fact is that despite any benevolent work the real chris has done with his life since achieving success he was nowhere near as good a person (by his own admission) as the film portrays. he had demons, a temper, and low standards. the film is so out of sync with his own account of events it was like reading two different stories. to me it shows just how good Hollywood is at glossing over parts of stories and turning them into Disneyland myths... But hey... Will Smith is amazing and its a good yarn.. just not as autobiographical as you might imagine

The day after the interview at 9ish in the morning they called me asking if I wanted the job. I ran out of the warehouse and cried because at this point I thought I was doomed to never accomplish anything and had lost all hope.
very touchy moment and depicted so well by Wills performance 👍
Goosebumps everytime i see this scène. Just an incredible touching movie.
All those above message we can get in this one full movie, one can realize the moment of happiness after long struggle ,in other words the fruit of happiness so lets watch it once to satisfy ourselve
Thank you you tube team for uploading such inspirational movies.
You are all missing the point, "the pursuit of happiness is the opportunity of an open door so one can achieve his or her dreams". It's not about money.
Well said...
Exactly who was missing this point? Lol you assumed folks missed the point.
@@TECHBYPROMODKUMAR fuck u i willleave a dislike
No one missed the point here
Elvis Ronky No, it's about the money. Without money you can't do anything.
This is the same way I feel when I get an A on a paper.
After 5 Year's and you getting A's, in 2019 where are you at?
With all due respect.
@@TheBarnebus Nice.. I would like to know that too if you dont mind @CAPPI0227
Will Smith is a brilliant actor!
"There are no greater treasures in life, than a sound mind and a full belly." - Captain Nemo, 20,000 leagues under the sea.
The day I got my first job, I felt the same🙂
The emotion in his face was priceless! One of his best performances...if not the best
This scene always give me goosebumps.
My favorite is when he just straight up leaves the office right after being hired when literally everyone is still there. Lol
Man, Will is incredible. The way he portrays happiness in this scene says a lot. He seems to walk with a spring in his step.
Cried my eyes out watching this movie.
this movie was so fucking awesome
whats its name sir
Amazing movie...
Literally I think this is the only part of any movie in the world which shows what happiness is
It just gives me goosebumps whenever I see this scene
Hahahahaha starting to cry also. Gosh who’s watching this in 2019 😭😭😭😭😍😍😍😍?? Ok he’s best here but the music got me to the guts too.
I reacted like this when chuck-e-cheese hired me
No it was going back to your nasty girl who didn't deserve the 1$ I paid her for a crappy BJ
how's it going?
Loool
His comeuppance is the moment, after years of struggling to get ahead, the good seeds he has planted are turning into his watershed harvest.
This part of my life .. is called happiness (2.19)
Beautiful!!
Strangely though it brought tears in my eyes !
Witnessing tears of joy and success accomplished after the worst life throws at you, I guess !
Such a beautiful inspiring true story!!
He can make me cry when I see him cry! When he got outside that did it! I sopped.he is awesome!
this scene made me tear up because I remember how I use to be shit broke no money no future ahead I was willing to do anything even sleeping with old ladys
I was sending cvs everywhere
fast forward I got the call from McDonald's and I landed a job as a cashier and this is exactly how my reaction was but I cried out of sadness
Hey Josh. Hugs. We all go thru it. Well, mostly all.
One of the best. Might depress you, but it's worth watching. Such a great example to show a man's determination.
I bet will loved this man bcus he is a loyal dedicated hard working father and we all know how will feels about that.
He's such a natural! Other actors could learn from him. The man he portrayed owes him a debt of gratitude for his portrayal.
me after my last ever exam in university
I remember the day I felt exactly like this
Knowing that you CAN provide for your family is the greateat feeling a man can feel.
Classic example of how difficult it is in today's world to get a good job.
providing for his son is happiness, being able t take his son to a movie is happiness, not the job u didn't understand what the scene was about
This whole movie touched my heart. Will Smith's one of the best movie of all time. ❤️
this movie brings so much emotion in me..
Yewh in me too.
Most powerful actor. This and his sad scene if Fresh Prince are the two things on tv that made me come the closest to legit crying
yeah, Jayden is realy cool!
Zheka K.

I seen this many times but still make you cry..because I know what's happiness it's all about.
Failures are a must to be Successful in life.
I cry everytime.
same
RINKU That's a good thing.
Dont do it for the money, then u get bored of it. Do it for the fun and the money will come!!
What all did he do so wrong?
Joe Silkwood Read the book... Its not so much that he was a bad person... just that he was not as clean-cut as Will Smith delivered on screen
TheComputec ok
+Joe Silkwood A scene from the Pursuit of Happyness got featured among the 7 best scenes from Hollywood Movies. Check it out: www.purevpn.com/blog/7-best-scenes-from-hollywood-movies/

This scene gives me tears in my eyes right when the boss finishes telling him tomorrow will be his first day. Very powerful moment. And the reaction Smith puts on is superb.
The part I love, is when the man pays him back.
There's a principle of reaping and sowing in that scene.
RVM Lance So True.
Damn ninjas and their onions.
Dexter Carter LoL 😁
I’ve seen this movie so many times and it still makes me cry. Best movie in my opinion
I knew the real Chris Gardener in Chicago. He was and will always be my friend.
0407jsmith did you both serve on the USS Enterprise?
It's really hard to see it with this potato-cam footage but DAMN he's good.
Can't remember how many times I watch this. I understand more and more through time !
