This game was a lot of fun to play and really nails the running and gunning. Had to make do with the snes versions as I've owned that for years and the Mega Drive version has gotten somewhat pricey. I noticed the top-down levels had a lot of slowdown at times and was wondering if the Genesis version has the same? Also, holy shit the Genesis version sounds a lot better, which rarely happens in these ported games, especially the Western ones. PS: I've noticed that the originality aspect drags all your review scores down a lot. Personally I'm just happy when games are good, especially with these licensed games. Of course an original concept is an eye cather but it almost seems unfairly skewed towards newer games in old genres.
Haha yeah the originality makes a lot of games tough, our highest score is probably MK2 and South Park Stick of Truth with an 8.9 Also the Sega does have the same slowdown but it isn't terrible, and yeah a rare sound win for Sega haha
what seems to be your boggle? , wtf kinda shit was that whole intro shit, that’s my boggle lol. So glad those long silly ass intros are a thing of the past, they sure were popular. Been a while since I’ve seen one this bad though heh. Solid video, pretty fun game, and one of best stalone movies. Looks like he matched his meet... You really licked his ass!
When Genesis games get backported to SNES, the sound tends to not be as good as it should be, same when you backport an SNES game to the Genesis. This was why these consoles were great, they were vastly different, you HAD to try both versions of a game to see the differences for yourself.
As I mentioned before I like these versions of it, the Gen/MD and SNES and I prefer and have played it most on the Gen/MD, just what I like more. Although its not the most amazing game ever that's for sure it is leagues better and more playable than most licensed games so it has that going for it no question. In fact I was surprised how good it was when I first played it. The 3DO version as I mentioned before is different and interesting... but nowhere near as good or fun as this, have to say it. Especially the shitty "boxing" fight you do against Fenix on the cars, and there's another one like that before it in an office building. It's like the worst murky MK fighting you've ever seen hahaha. Anyway enough about that, another good review guys.
Did you guys by chance play the Sega CD version? I would guess the only difference would be the sound. I got the Sega CD version in a game lot a few years ago. I have yet to play it. Now I have to hook up the tower of power and check it out. Thanks for posting. Great review as usual.
Lou Diamond Phillips? Before you correctly named subsequent actors I thought you were doing "a thing" by misidentifying Benjamin Bratt, but now... lol thanks for the review!
I've only played the Sega CD version of this game. It's a fun game even if it has its annoying moments. The big plus of the Sega CD version is the soundtrack. It's pretty damn good. Definitely worth a listen.
@@Drinkabeerandplayagameofficial though I'm not wondering how I found most of them I care just by accident. Robocop Vs terminator is a another game mad for the secret lives
1. 5:05 *BUZZ* Jim Napoleon you are fined one credit for a violation of the Verbal Morality Statue 2. On the bright side about not having references to Taco Bell, would you rather be like the international version and have references for Pizza Hut? 3. Don't knock on Associate Bob! He was the freaking man! But yes he needs to lose the kimono, he looks like a couch!
The movie....I'm not sure I liked it all that much, it had some scenes that were just corny and comedic in an action flick compared to Judge Dredd. But I would say the game is better.
I didn't enjoy this game, mainly because i got hit all the time and sometimes i can't even see where the enemies are. however, since i'm in the mood to play run and gun games i might give this game a second chance.
You guys need to buy a 3DO. They're not too terribly expensive, and if you're not hardcore collectors (and are looking to save some cash) you can burn the entire library onto discs for free. There are TONS of awful games to make fun of on the system... but there's also a handful of awesome games too. I don't regret buying my 3DO in the slightest. It's a unique console for sure.
I've been looking to get one, can just never find them in the wild for a good deal haha. Knowing we can just burn the games is a definite plus! I've even wanting road rash, super SF II turbo, etc
I miss playing my 3DO as well. Strange that the best games on it came from EA of all people (look at how they were able to get Wing Commander III on it, let alone Road Rash.) But as for that version of Demolition Man, I'd say we're not missing much, except for Stallone literally telling us that we suck if we pick easy mode.
And it's easy as shit to make CD-R games for! Pretty much one of the easiest to do it for as I've read over the years. I see the "games" for it, and the real actual things you'd call games for the 3DO often actually, even boxed controllers for it but its only about once a year I see the 3DO itself and never for anything less than $120 for some reason at best. It is a cool system though and worth having, far more than the CD-I ever was. There's actually shit worth playing and buying for the 3DO...
SSF2 Turbo frustrated the shit out of me especially if you don't have the Capcom Fighting Pad. Samurai Shodown on it was also very impressive. Keep in mind this is the system where Crystal Dynamics debuted.
These was one of my favorite games for the Genesis as a kid
It's definitely fun, pretty expensive these days
This game was ridiculously fun
a-6_grindtime it surprised us with how fun it was
a-6_grindtime it was a definite surprise
Awesome Genesis game. Adrenaline rush.
Rooty Kazooty too true

Thanks bud and based on the way we average out the scores originality is not weighed that heavily but we figure that is important
1:01 Find it funny the name of the actual developer pops up right here. Haha.
electricmastro haha timing

Tritian we shortened the intros since this came out and nice references

too true
this game looks fun as funk
It is, definitely worth at least an emulation play
Looks like a nice game. I think I'll buy that =)
Yea it was surprisingly fun

Thanks again bud, I know all about those fights from Spoony's review and am oddly interested to see just how badly it plays
Yep, same as me hahaha, once again we seem to watch the same stuff. Well I used to anyway.

Thanks bud and Nah we never tried that version, let us know how it is.
I have a broken sega cd haha, one we will need to go back to when we can
Lou Diamond Phillips? Before you correctly named subsequent actors I thought you were doing "a thing" by misidentifying Benjamin Bratt, but now... lol thanks for the review!
haha nope that's just jim fucking up
Lol yeah it was my oops, Bri didn't notice either until editing haha

The Ikari Warrior oh nice I’ll have to check that out
phoeeeenix😆 never saw the movie or played the games either. I just know shells on the toilet.
Dude the movie is a masterpiece
Watching you walk by all the secret lives, nooo
Haha, wouldn’t be the first time that we drove the true fans of a game crazy

Jim from DBPG so much for the three seashells

Judge Dredd is unnecessarily corny and comedic as well. At least Demolition Man has an interesting premise.
I love the movie for how cornball it is

Cutsie-Kun it’s def easy to get wrecked in this if you don’t know where you are going

Top down parts on the SNES are horrible.
KandaPanda agreed

Yea he is disturbing
