1:14 reminds me when you get two magnets near each other and that theres a certain point where it will NOT want to come close in contact AT ALL and you can feel that bubbled area when pushing against it.😂😂😂
if youre young or if you skipped physics its not the mass that makes the difference when it comes to delayed change of direction in a gravitational field, its the speed, always the speed.
@@Redstoneprofi01 that is incorrect, earths gravity (furthermore games which has no mass limit) accelerates every object at the same rate, from the height this man was dropping the objects none would hit terminal velocity, so they all go down at the same speed at that height, thus same penetration when acted upon by a constant gravity like negative force.
We all lose :) Though FR with the default forcefield it's not even that hard to still have a crash with another vehicle if driving head-on into freeway traffic, it's relatively weak (think of an underpowered rocket trying to avoid crashing into the surface of a planet but sped up). If you were pointing those two cars at each other and trying to impact at a combined 2x VMax, the power would definitely have to be turned up, at least as high as it was here if not moreso. That or perhaps increasing the radius, and get a kind of reverse tug-of-war effect where they battle to get closer to each other?
From what i can see, the equation for the forcefield is mass divided by distance equals the force. So as it gets closer, the force applied to it gets higher with a limit on the upper end of the distance threshold.
My first video on this channel that ive seen, idk what the rest of the videos look like but I subbed hoping the others are just this video format. So soothing and entertaining
are you telling me i didnt have to make a modded vehicle that doesnt deform and weighs 90,000kg and has 105,000hp to bully ai without breaking my own vehicle, and i could have just been using THIS? i have 1100 hours in this game and im still learning it... ill forever love beamng.
There's actually a way to convert any car to electric with this feature (well, kind of). You need to assign one of your free keys to the forcefield (in the settings contols settings, just search for "forcefield") and attach a player (exit with F and, navigate using F8, set the spawn point using F7), then change the model of the player to "empty" in the parts selector, switch back to your car and remove the entire drivetrain (the engine, the fuel tank, etc.), and if you did everything right, you can now turn the forcefield on and off to accelerate. It doesn't have much torque at the start (that's why you really need that weight reduction part) but it goes really good once you've gained some speed.
You can change the code to use the equation Force = 1 / Delta between the force field center and physic object. As the object gets closer to the car the force will increase into infinity it would be fun seeing cars get incredibly close but never hitting
the force must be implemented as a power function of distance to the model origin, and not a logarithmic function with infinity being at your vehicle's surface (which would be an invulnerable forcefield)
I’d be curious to see what happens when you have something against a wall and aim the forcefield at it. Will it get crushed? Will the approaching car be repelled?
The forcefield uses gravity to push things away from it. Since the applied force scales with the mass of the object, increasing mass is completely pointless; the only thing that matters is speed. A more effective solution would be dropping objects from great height onto the car. More massive objects would have a greater terminal velocity; however, if air resistance is turned off then there would be no change between any two objects. Increasing height would directly correlate to higher forcefield penetration and increasing mass would not. Increasing the effective gravity on an object would also provide the same results and directly counteract the forcefield. If both the forcefield and gravity are set to 10 then the area directly above the forcefield would essentially be a zone of microgravity.
You should download the 'Dinky Roller Kat' mod for these kinds of tests, it seems to be the heaviest vehicle I can find while still being somewhat drivable.
I think a V8 twinsteer longnose sleeper T-Series with two 20 ton steel coils on the longest flatbed with all the heaviest options at max speed should make it well into the strong force field
Mildly disappointed you didn't try dropping the truck or train onto the Pickle, but this was good science all the same. Also, the forcefield basically turns you into a planet with negative gravity? So, uh... could you make actual freefloating spherical planets that can be driven around, using that feature? Or turn your car into a magnet for other vehicles that you have to try and escape instead?

if you have enough physical strength you can actually force them together although once you let go one of the magnets becomes an oversized bullet

That's not a forcefield. That's a repulsor field. A forcefield would have acted like an invisible wall.

it's probably because the outward force increases as the object gets closer
