@@rareravenI think it takes very little for them the "uncoil" and the amount of force/energy released from it is legitimately lethal as it's essentially a thin blade whipping around. 😬
I used to work in a factory that took in coil steel (usually on rail coil cars, but sometimes the odd solitary one on a truck) to make the metal framework of the products, and wondered what an inadequately-secured one might do. ...It's more terrifying than I'd thought.
There are a few videos circulating on the internet that show what happens when things go wrong with those steel coils.... terrifying is an understatement!
@@EvanPang-w4i Since the average male grizzly bear is about 600 lbs, 4,567,000 times 600 would be 2,740,200,000, meaning it would be literally 2,740,200,000 joules, or like @talhafarook1902 said, getting hit by nearly 5 million grizzly bears.

This would actually be an awesome video for some intro to physics class or even something more basic in high school - just showing how mass is more important than simply volume/size, even if it's theoretical.

Now we need Katamari Domacy in BeamNG xD There's already a sphere prop in it, so... :p The best thing would be that it doesn't even need to keep the ball sticky, as we see at 3:20 Great vid! xD
Hmmm, I wonder why the phrase "injuries incompatible with life" keeps flashing through my head? The funniest bit was when that single aircraft engine/prop realised it was suddenly free of its mechanical bonds and decided to make an attempt for low earth orbit. Also the 2-second clip of the parallel coils rocketing down the tunnel at somewhere close to the speed of sound. That had me in stitches for some reason. Just a few 30T rolls of steel. In a tunnel. Moving at very high speed.
I worked at a hot-dip galvanising line that could hit 1000 tons _per shift_ of these monstrosities. They are quite massive. (Ok, ok, they maxed at 28 tons, not 30, but still.) But it's not these coils that scare me most. It's the thing capable of giving them that near-instant speed what worries me most. Sure, it is all hypothetical, but the extreme acceleration of that much mass means there is a tremendous amount of energy involved. To put things in perspective: the largest naval gun ever to exist fired 3200 lb (1.5 ton'ish) 18" shells. This would be 20 times the mass.
Beam doesn't simulate it but these steel coils desperately want to not be coiled anymore, at those impact forces the bands would snap and they would unfurl like a 30 ton tape measure out of its case. This is a terrifying creation
This is why you don’t drive too close to the Semi carrying these
