Years ago, a news reporter pointed a police-issue radar gun (for that time) at a stop sign, and it clocked the sign, bolted to a post fixed into the ground, at 88 MPH.
Here it was in the news when a basic popular car, like some 60 hp something, went past a fixed speed camera like in the video and got ticketed for going like 800+ km/h. The authorities still tried to claim that it wasn't an error. That yes, the little crappy car could be as fast as a commercial jetliner in cruise speed.
This reminds me of a couple of Mythbusters episodes where they tried to beat speed cameras IRL. They eventually had to get a rocket-propelled racecar to actually beat it.
@@WisnuAji-Benjamin Yup. Granted, it still took a picture, but you can't exactly get a license plate from a huge plume of smoke, lol. Also, the episodes aired in the mid-late 2000's, so the tech has probably advanced since then.
There's actually a limit to the speed cameras. Although they can even register at high speeds, anything above 300kmh will be considered a fault and discarded
Hi, I really like your channel but I would like to ask you some questions: Can you do car races like Grand Cherokee vs Defender VS Toyota Land Cruiser VS Ford Bronco And if you can set up long tracks of 15-20 minutes of racing and give the AI automatic control without your intervention. Something similar to the style of H.S.P DIGITAL if you know too Road Inferno They make very interesting races - but I understood that they don't give the AI 100% control
An invisible wall that has no collision but has query and touch property enable can easily detect any other parts amd get its data thru some easy coding.. Most of the games use this feature
I think Top Gear tried this like 20 years ago. They used a TVR and beat it going 180 mph. Although speed cameras have gotten better at detecting higher speeds nowadays.
the cannon ball isnt a vehicle its a projectile so thats why the camera dint register it i mean cmon shoot a gun near a speed cam lets see if it registers it
In rral life you can beat cameras by going fast enough (about 300 km/h) the camera will trigger and take a photo but by the time the photo is taken you'll already be out of frame so it won't get your plate.
Something interesting I've thought about at least in Canada the speed cameras issue tickets to the owner of the vehicle not the individual driving so I wonder what would happen if you went like 200kmh in a 40kmh zone. Normally that would be jail and a huge fine but the camera can't jail you.
Try locking your game at 1 FPS! It's probably hardcoded to just record in-game speed of an object passing, if i remember correctly Unity physics is tied to game's FPS. You probably can bypass the camera if you'll go supersonic at 1 in-game FPS, and if N and N+1 frames will be outside of camera region, you will fool it.
BeamNG's physics engine (which is based on Torque3D) isn't framerate based. It's set to do a simulation 2000 times per in-game second no matter your framerate. If your system isn't able to do the calculations that fast in realtime, you'll actually be playing in slow motion. So no matter what framerate you limit the game to, you'll still get 2000 simulation cycles per second. Slow that down and the physics of the game itself breaks down, not just the camera. Now it may be that the camera's detection system is framerate based, but I doubt it. The rest of the realtime physics system runs at 2000fps, so it would be easier to just implement the camera detection into that existing system.
Umm, you were not even close. You would need to be going about *3 times the speed of light* to outrun beamNG's speed cameras. *_ABOUT 3 TIMES THE SPEED OF LIGHT_* Anyways, dramatics aside, Let's think about how it works first. If you're in some predetermined box that senses if a vehicle is inside, it activates. This is the box used for the speed camera to sense if a vehicle is there or not. the vehicle has an airspeed, too and the game runs on frames per second. So, let's say the vehicle is 5 meters long and the box is 10 meters long So that it doesn't activate we need to makes sure the vehicle never gets in the box on any frame. That means that at minimum: Frame 0: The very front of the car is almost touching the back of the box Frame 1: The very back of the car is almost touching the front of the box The car would need to travel 10 meters plus an extra 5 meters due to the car's length. And now, assuming that your game is running with 60 frames per second, that means that the time between each frame is 1/60. (1/144 if running at 144fps, so basically 1 over X, where X is your frames per second.) that would mean, that, if running at 60 fps, you would need to travel at least 15 meters in one sixteenth of a second, and speed is just distance over time so that would be around *3'240'000'000 km/h,* which by the way, is around *3 times the speed of light.* Holy shit, i tell you. That means... You were not even close to outrunning the speed camera. In fact, you would need to increase the *wind speed* about *200244 fold* to get to that speed But that's assuming that every assumption is correct. Of course, the number becomes much bigger if your game is running at 144 fps for example, or if the box or car are longer.
Idea: press cntrl and set power to zero when u grab it, fly to the end of the highway while grabbing it, and then max power that’s what i do to fling card but make sure the car is strong
i think the camera picked up everything because u were in the cars, rocks etc, and not the cannon ball because it was registered as an object if u get what i mean
In reality, if you’d really want to be faster than the speed than the camera can record, you’d have to use some simple physics, and logic. A classic speed camera records at a rate of 180 fps ( frames per second ) , ( some actually record at a very low of 25 fps ), now if we lets say wanted to go faster than the camera can capture itself, we would simply calculate how fast in KM/H are we suppose to go that we can travel at a faster rate than the camera can record. This would be easily calculated by converting KM/H into m/s , but before we do, we gotta make an example, so lets say a 13 meter fov (Field of View) speed camera records a picture at 25 fps, thats 0.04s per frame. At that rate, if you want the object not to be recorded by the camera, you should be going the speed of 1.170km/h. Now Beamng is a mobile game, And i do not have information of its programming, so by how the developers programmed the game, thats how the speed camera is gonna act. 😇
