There is a mixture of landscapes, architecture, portraits, and food photos in this video. Do let me know what type of photos you enjoy the most, it would really help me for future videos. Thanks!
Great to see you Simon. Hope you are both enjoying the trips. I'm off to Greece (Corfu) next week with a mate.. Have a vlog camera but wont do this quality bro. Keep in touch. M
Oh wow, what a lovely thing to say, thank you so much! 😊 I've started making shorter videos, a couple of days at a time, to show the route a little better, and share a few more photos. 🙏🏼
Hi Brigid I would imagine many of the places haven't changed much in all those years, it's like going back in time. Appreciate the comment, many thanks!
What a wonderful adventure, Simon! It was really nice to see you guys enjoying yourselves. The photography and the food look amazing! Thank you for sharing your fantastic journey!
Gosh. Such amazing photography. I was spellbound all the way through and kept pausing it to have a good look and constantly said "wow". Thank you for a tremendous job well done. I met a lady yesterday who told me she had walked the Camino and kept turning around to get another viewpoint of where she had been walking which I thought was a brilliant idea rather than just focusing on the one direction.
We are returning to the Camino next month and watched your great video again to bring our anticipation levels a little higher. Loved your b&w portrait shots - amazing use of available light.
Thanks for watching Ken, that's exciting that you're returning, we'd love to do the same one day. Thanks for the kind words, and we hope you have a fantastic time, buen Camino!
A wonderful adventure, and some beautiful images to boot. I dream of doing the Camino myself sometime, but by cycle rather than on foot. Thank you for sharing your trip.
Thanks Neil, I can't begin to tell how what an amazing experience it was, and I encourage you do it yourself. Lot's of people cycle it, I'm sure it's just as amazing by bike 🙂
Wonderful travelogue of a unique experience. I walked the Camino in 2017 and am doing so again next year, if my photography is anywhere near as good as yours I’ll return home a very happy chap. I really liked your b&w portrait shots. Excellent!
What a cracking collection of memories to have. Obviously it's great to have all the photos (in a book?) but having a video to go along with it just makes recalling the trip even more rewarding. What a great walk, and brilliant that you made some friends along the way.
Thanks Julian, you are correct, this is a great keepsake to watch in the future. A book, hmm, maybe there will be a book, if time allows. I shot 7000 images, so they need to go somewhere🙂
I especially found the food photos to my liking, the quality of the images helped. All in all a story superbly told, thanks for all your hard work putting this together.
@@SimonBurnCreative You will not be disappointed. I walked from Lisbon to Santiago and beyond. Very different experience to the Frances route: lovely scenery. warm and hospitable people and great food and wine. Enjoy!
Wonderful video. I´m really surprised because I´m planning to do my Camino this year(2023) in May and I had no idea it was cold like that! Everybody is wearing heavy coats!
What do you do to protect your camera gear from wet weather? I’m walking the camino in a few weeks and think I will now only take my Nikon D3600 and a 35mm lens. Thanks for sharing the photos.
For cameras and lenses which are not water-resistant I have a shower cap and / or cloth over the gear when raining. An umbrella is a good option too. The Camino I'm walking in May, I'm taking larger pro-level cameras and lenses so they can get wet and I won't have to worry too much.
Fantastic. Your skills as a photographer/videographer & all round foodie made this a pleasure to watch. Even the stormy ending was classic. Too many questions about your trip but I'll just ask how did u decide which route to do and why? OK, extra question, did you diarise the trip? regards Al ps Loved the ending.. sad but joyous too.
The route has been in place for hundreds of years, it's a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela Cathedral where the remains of St James reside. I read a lot of books and looked at a lot of videos, and it was clear the route was very scenic, great for a photographer! I did make daily notes, yes. I need to find time to write them up now, maybe turn all this into a book.
Great video, thanks for sharing. Particularly love the b&w portraits of people. I'm walking this year starting mid April. Would you say raincoat or the poncho was better for your walk in 2022?
Thanks! I had a rain coat (shell) for most rainy days and worked well. But we had a couple of days when the rain came down really hard, and a poncho was the only solution to stop us getting drenched through. So my answer, have both! A poncho is light and packs up small, it doesn't need to be a fancy one, I got mine from a dollar store. Buen Camino!
Thanks Martin! Yes, I used the 50-250 kit lens for some shots, although it broke half way into the trip (it's very flimsy and easily damaged), so I mostly used a manual focus prime lens from Meike. 35mm f 1.4
Hello Simon, I the pleasure of watching your video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I will be doing the Camino Frances in April 2023 - I have converted a golf trolley to a hiking trolley to carry my backpack. Did you see anyone use a hiking trolley? Do you think it is practical. Your comments will be very much appreciated. Cheers
I saw a few people with trolleys, but there are a few spots where the trail is very rough so you would have to go the road route for those sections. The descent down into Molinaseca being one of them.
Hi are you going to see all these old architecture/ churches along the way in the town / cities / villages ? or are you going to get walk and get inside the to see them ? Am planning to do the Camino from St Jean PDP but doing to ride by bus or train stop by stop to interesting places and cities and just do the Sarria to Santiago to get the certificate. Thanks
What a great trip and amazing photos! Really enjoyed watching this video. It looks like you stayed in hotels, hostels, etc during this trip. Or did you spend some nights in a tent?

Worst experience in my life. worthless and useless pain experience phisically and mentally. Never ever. Best day i had has been in Porto, after finishing and coming back to real, normal and beautiful life.
Oh that's so sad to hear. We never had any issues and it was the best travel experience we've ever had. Everyone has different expectations and attitudes, that's what makes people so interesting I suppose. 🙂
@@wanderingsagestyle First of all, i guess, you must have a special reason to do so , which i didnt, like a problem to overcome, a shitty life, a real necessity of cutting with normal life, finding peace or new pace, a family problem, a health problem, yours or of other people, or you are exchanging your effort for having something back like healing of a loved one ( from God i guess). me, i was just curious about. Third, being italian, i assure you that Leon and Galizia are nothing special at all compared with our landscapes and villages Finally, i heard so much people telling me before : “oh, you will see, after the camino you will come back and be different, you will understand many things, its a wonderful experience” and this was coming always from people who needed to change something in there life because they were unsatisfied. So at the end, what i learned in the camino is that i have a beautiful life like it is and that i dont have to change anything, so the phisycal and mental effort was totally useless.
