Thank you, Isaiah. I have a Pixel 7, and I'm a little old school in that I prefer wired headphones and the external drive option like an SD card. I find that a wired connection eliminates all of the connectivity hassle, and just sounds better. I also love the Pixel phone except for the fact there is no removable storage slot. So, I was on the verge of moving over to Samsung, for that very reason. Otherwise, I love the Pixel, and was looking for a way to avoid the headache of changing over to a new phone. I resolved the wired headphones issue by discovering that you can simply use a USB C to 3.5 mm jack. I had no idea. It's not like they blast this from the rooftops, as everyone wants to move to total wireless. Anyway, they removable drive issue was still unresolved until I found your channel and this video. Thank you for elaborating. I bought the app and it works perfectly. I don't understand the comments of people who won't spend basically the same amount for a cup of Starbucks coffee for an app that provides considerable benefits. Have a great day!
Exactly.. I am buying the mow cheaper phone to do GoPro Quik editing.. No computer for simple edits. Looks like this solved the slot issue, or need for Clouds..
This was driving me up the wall. Many thanks for the fix. Ridiculous that I have to pay £5 to get something so basic to work. iPad reads it no problem.
Hey Folks. I just found another workable solution (at least for me). thought i'd share... initially i had exact same issue Isaiah described. On a whim i backed up my usb stick, then connected it to my pixel6, and on the phone selected usb drive fix/format. It took two seconds for pixel 6 to format my usb drive to its (i.e. pixel 6's) liking. Good news is now my windows 10 is ALSO happy with this format (windows 10 file explorer shows an extra LOST.DIR but no big deal) and both devices will allow moving files as needed. Hope this helps. Good luck!
@@timfarnsworth3731 But no partition limit on the phone side? FAT32 can support up anywhere from 2 to 16 TB (depending on cluster size) volume / partition
In a similar thought, the Pixel can read my go pro cards well, but not my DJi files. So I used my GoPro to format my cards that I use in my DJI drones - I’ll see how it goes long term.
Thanks for exploring this. This issue is a huge disappointment. Unfortunately, I can't justify buying an app for this. My workaround is to plug the MicroSD and pixel 6 into my laptop to use as a go between. It's not ideal, especially if you're on the go, but it's what I'll choose over an app that is enabling what should be standard.
When you order the Google Pixel phones they typically include a USB-C to USB-A adapter, I always thought that it was used for copying to/from a flash drive and I was at my friends house last night I needed to take a program home with me and didn't have any flash drives so we copied it to my Pixel 6 Pro so I'd have it. I know that I could use the USB cable to retrieve it but thought I'd try the adapter which it does recognize in my phone and can access it in file explorer but when I select the file to copy it doesn't give the option to copy it over to the USB, I tried other files that I had downloaded such as PDF which also wouldn't let me copy over and I've only found that on my phone it only allows you to copy from the USB onto this thing. I ended up uploading the program to my Google Drive and I will download it that way. It doesn't seem there is an issue with my flash drive as I can see it and access the files to copy them to the phone just can't reverse the process.
@@aditya-_-sahu Sadly I have not, basically upload it into the cloud somewhere ie: the internet and then download it onto another PC, another option is by sending an email to yourself but you'd still have to download it from another system.
Thanks for the video. I tried working around this issue by trying to move the files to my Surface Go and it is not even showing me that I have any files on my Pixel. It seems like I am having an issue getting the videos and pics of my phone into the Sandisk SSD, as well as into my laptop (Surface Go). I bought this external drive as I make viodeos about Italy and you can imagine how much footage I take. Initially I used the cloud to keep my phone empty and ready to shoot, but it's eating my data like crazy. So frustrating!
I was unable to transfer files to my PC from Pixel 6a, but tried deleting the driver, and rebooting the PC. Surprisingly this seems to have worked, when the PC rebooted I was able to access the files on my phone.
Anyone try to read multiple storage by Hub? I tried to use a Hub insert microSD card and external drive, but Pixel 6 only can read one of them. How can I read both of them at the same time?
I have struggled with this. I’d like to copy straight from SD card to SSD drive. I cannot do this on an ipad Mini 5, pixel 6 or Samsung s20. However, it does work on an old crappy Samsung tab A - go figure.
I'd rather pay for an app that doesn't have ads than a subscription anytime. Paid apps have always (im my experience) had better support/features than free or even default apps. $4+ is nothing especially if it's for work. It will pay for itself tens of times over
I'm starting to hate my Google 6a,so much so that my beat up Huawei is in my other pocket and people think I'm a drug dealer because I have two phones.
I have a free solution but it takes a little work: 1. Copy the memory stick to your computer. 2. Insert memory stick into pixel and format it. 3. Copy all the data back onto the memory stick from the computer. 4. Now when you insert into the pixel everything on the card will read okay. In my experience using the app memory zone (free) also helps you with view your media and move it around/transfer it easily.
i'm not paying for an app to make my phone work like any other normal phone, tf
Well I agree it sux but what else can you do? At least you have the app forever to use on other phones
Shits pathetic

Would this work going for moving documents from my pixel to a SD card? Thank you

Ok, so what if you want to recoed to an external drive and use a wired mic and headphones all at the same time? Is this possible at all?

What did u do
It's doing this for any external drive, it seems. I'm using a 1TB SSD with USB-C/C connector and also get this problem. Annoying!

Hello brother, i need your help. I have one google pixel 6 and i can't install apps on the phone outside of google play 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️😭😭😭. Please help me
Thanks I hope this works so in can move stuff from my phone to my sd card with this app?
Google pixel 5 otg pendrive not working
It does not work even with the X plore app.😬😬😬
Do you have any idea how to fix an external microphone from not working on the Google pixel 6
Yes well maybe. Make sure it is selected in settings or restart your phone. I've had to restart the phone then it works
No MicroSD card + No Standard headphone jack = UNPROFESSIONAL!

Uuggghhh my phone won't read shit nothing comes up at all
Was this corrected in any of the recent major updates?
No
grate app u ..are a life saver cheers
Works, thanks.
I have a free solution but it takes a little work:
1. Copy the memory stick to your computer.
2. Insert memory stick into pixel and format it.

But it is FAT32 format, limit with 4GB.
Same Problem with Pixel 7
Thanks mate
This is not a pro device. Period.
Stick to the point and keep it short!

Maybe check permissions and set to open by default
