Cortney, Glad to hear Rosey is doing better as well as knowing your a caring pet owner. I lost a cat last Dec, that was the last time I saw Buffy, a grey tabby with spots in his coat.
Thanks for clueing us in on the fact that the 3 series is the biggest tractor you can get with the mid pto and cab with heat/ac. That narrows down my search parameter. Great videos by the way. Oh, a suggestion and sorry if this has been asked before. Is there any way you can turn up your volume? Hard to hear you most of the time.
Wow-that cab with a/c really looks great right now, it is hot here! That is a beautiful machine.... So good to see Rosie, I'm pulling hard for her......
Great video! I always wonder how much difference there is in hp vs weight. For example- a 12 hp garden tractor of old seems much more powerful than a 25 hp lawn mower “tractor” today.
Purple Collar Life - great point! The old garden tractors weren’t high on horsepower but could do everything! Is a lower power 3 series better than a higher powered 2 series?
They engines are physically identical, the 3039r just has a minor torque bump to probably compensate for the extra curb weight. This same concept applies to a silverado with a 6.2 vs a camaro with a 6.2. The camaro is much faster than the silverado despite the same engine and trans, but the silverado can tow 13000lbs while the camaro can't tow. Both 420hp, both 460lb-ft of torque, but both wildly different vehicles.
Hydraulic flow, lift capacities are independent of HP and are probably more important when considering a tractor and its functional capabilities, compared to the HP.

the hydraulic gpm is different between 2038 and 3039. that makes a big difference as well. wish i would have known that information before buying. 1025r is good for small maintained property, but not ideal for digging tree stumps, 2 acre garden or other medium projects.

Bought a 3038E new and it has been a great little tractor. Not knowing that much about tractors I know now I should have bought a cab tractor. I would use it much more if I mainly had the heat in the fall and winter. A/C would be nice also. Gonna get the 3039R cab in the future
@@GoodWorksTractors Certainly is dramatic it's like jumping from a lawn tractor to a Agri tractor , loving the extra power , will be great for snow ploughing. Factory cab for comfort as well 😁
I agree mostly. I have a 20yr old jd 4400. It's heavy, I like it a lot, but it's under powdered. Tires are turf and loaded. It's a 37hp yanmar. Has the mid PTO, cruise, extra hydraulic outlets. I can only get the 13 to 1400 hay bales 2 high and it struggles to get that 2nd one up. The 800lb bales will go 3 high and no trouble at all. Just on hills it lacks power, and that's all western pa is, up and down. Wish I could afford a 4066r with a cab, but that's just a pipe dream. Haha
Rosy is obviously a well loved member of the family, I hope she continues to get better. The HP rating is way overrated in almost all cases. I like the range of the options on the larger series but part of the consideration for me is the ability to use it in smaller places around the homestead. It is hard to beat a subcompact tractor for that. Thanks for sharing the information. Excellent video as always..
Great Video and I am probably 10 of your 22K views. Anyway-How about ground clearance and protection from underbrush? I think Tractor Tim has been a little disappointed with these issues when he stepped up to his 2 series.

Appreciate all the info and the video. Just really wish you did one of the mower decks you can get for it. I want to upgrade from the 1025r to the 3039r so bad but I'm not sure how well mowing with it will work out
I upgraded from a 1025r with a MMM to a cabbed 3033r with filled tires. I switched to a rear finish mower and I am actually happier with the results of the 3033r. I run R4 tires
Quick question, does the 2038R have the "Auto-Throttle" on the hydro control cluster from the factory or as an option like the 3 series? Hope Rosie is doing well.
