The cake was a success. I've had great compliments on this. I'm saving the recipe. Just changed it up a little bit, by using a foiled 6 inch baking pan, left the cake in it, and cut the frosting in half, only on top. It was very delicious. Thank you very much. ❤
I was asked to make a cake for someone's birthday next week. Thank you for your recipe, perfect size for 4 people to share. Your daughter is so cute and helpful. Teach them young, they'll be great cooks as adults.
This was a great cake, me and my family absolutely loved it, I substituted 6 table spoons of regular milk instead of buttermilk and it taste just as great, thank you so much for sharing this recipe! MAKE SURE YOU GUYS TRY THIS 1000% recommend
That’s so sweet I have two boys ones 14, 117 they grow too quick. I spent my whole life as a Pastry Chef never had time to be home, but I got into an accident. I was one of the chefs in Miami in the five star hotel, but the life is busy crazy but what I’m trying to say is she’ll never forget that moment she did a cake with you. You look like a good mom I don’t bake anymore but thank you. The cake came out great I put sprinkles kids love it. so so sorry for any misspellings. I was in a hurry
is it okay to use full cream or fresh milk instead? I measured 6tbsp=90.75grams of fresh milk and my batter turned out watery and the cake pretty dense. I use a convention oven with the fan to bake this.. would it make a difference with/without fan?
6 Tbs Butter 1/2 cup Sugar 1 Egg 1 Tbs Vanilla Extract 3/4 Cup of Self Rising Flour (this is what I used, she used all purpose but then had to add 2 other ingredients) 1/2 Tsp Vinegar 6 Tbs of Whole Milk Bake at 350 degrees for 37-39 minutes
I MADE THIS TODAY BUT I ONLY USE 3 TBSP BUTTERMILK AND I HAD A MISTAKE ON THE 1 TSP. BAKING SODA, I USED BAKING POWDER😩but it came out fine!! I added some sprinkles on the batter before baking it!!
So sorry, it's baking soda. When in doubt trust the recipe, I always test my recipes and proofread them. I try to catch mistakes in videos because I hate to give people the wrong information but this error slipped through. Thanks for catching it.

I don't recommend almond milk for this recipe because it has less fat. The fat in the whole milk is what is going to give your cake moisture and keep it soft. If you are looking for a vegan alternative, follow me on Instagram @dessertfortwo and check out my website www.dessertfortwo.com. I'm posting a recipe for vegan vanilla cake later this week.

Yes, it provides the protein to hold the cakes structure and also provides moisture. Here is the full recipe www.dessertfortwo.com/mini-vanilla-cake/
