This did work for me. I did buy this exact unit on Amazon, I followed the instructions as the video says (although I didn't plug it into TV from the splitter, because I just let it stream right into my computer) and it's working perfectly for me. I know some PS3 games are 720p, but is possible to have the capture card 1080p, or no? This is my curiosity. My second question, with the HDMI Splitter, can you livestream PS3 and Elgato HD 60?
It's pretty much the same as the video, the only difference is the pro and the 's' version have instant game capture so you don't need to use the 'out' port unless you want to play on a different monitor or TV than what your computer is already connected to. My set up is basically PS3 > HDMI SPLITTER > HD60 PRO and that's it, I didn't even need to touch the HDMI for my monitor since it already had one going into the computer.
I got this splitter and it worked, but it only showed on my computer screen, not my monitor. Also, on my monitor, it had a square screen with white interference or something like that. So, I reset the settings on the PS3 and that didn't work, it just made the screen black. So I thought, It looks like the rooting single is just going into a half circle, the single isn't complete. So, I grabbed the HDMI cord that was connected to the monitor and one of the HDMI Output from the Splitter and connected it to the out of the HD60, and it work! I hope that helps people. If you have anymore questions, please comment in this post.
I have a similar problem. I'm gonna try again tonight. But mine will show up on the software just fine. And then when I open a game i get a white screen with static interference. But when I switch to my tv the game is running fine.

To non-Americans, you need a plug adapter for this to work, because not every country uses the same type of plug! The AC-adapter seen here uses type A (which is used in North America and most of Latin America). If want to know which plug outlet your country uses, just Google it. After that, order a _type A to type _ plug adapter!

I bought 2 different ones. the first two didn't work. the 3rd one did. type in on Amazon "HDMI splitter viewHD" . This is the one that works perfectly. keep in mind that it has US plugs. so if you live in Europe. You need to buy a US to EU adaptor. hope this helps bro
Okay so first this works Although you may run into some problems (not related to this video) (also I’m using a laptop) 1. Low bandwidth: your pc/lab top may not be powerful enough to broadcast properly and you may need to adjust settings or your laptop/pc 2. (Please note I’m using a dell gaming laptop) so you will be able to stream for a few minutes then your power will randomly shut off. This may happen for a variety of reasons like, overheating or windows 10 issues. If anyone knows ways to work around these issues please let everyone here know.
Hi, I hope you're able to still answer this. I've followed all of the instructions but it is not working for me. Maybe I have a bad HDMI or something but I'm hoping I'm just missing something. I don't understand how you do this without using the Output portion of the Elgato capture card. That's how I usually connect my consoles to display, both the input and the output of the capture card. But according to these instructions it only talks about the input, leaving the output empty?
the output of your Capture card goes into your PC obviously cuz how els does your PC recieve the images to send to OBS or what other software you use to capture it
Thanks for this. The REI HD-102 worked great with my PS3 and an Elgato HD60. In the PC I run OBS to change the signal into a video camera input to use with/in Twitch Studio.
Also i suggest changing the input or output in elgato software to Xbox 360 if last gen recording as it should want to output at 60fps over hdmi. That was one issue PS3 had was it wouldnt allow recording nor transfer of 60fps.
You have to make sure the splitter you bought supports the HDCP bypass if you bought one that doesn't include the HDCP bypass you're pretty much screwed!
It allows me to record audio on the PS3 menu but once I open any game the Elgato lose signal and reopens and when it reopens the video is fine but the audio is gone. However, the audio is still there for the tv.

Reason for it not doing 60fps is your PS3 needs to output 720p60fps assuming you have it setup for display as 1080p or what ever it wont output 60fps but 30fps.

Hi Cho0per im sorry to say that but i connected the capture card(the cable from the PS3 connected to the HDMI input on the splitter) and all i got was black screen and no signal displayed we ordered a new splitter and we'll see how that will turn out

But last night we had a power outage and i think it may have screwed my splitter up because the two front lights do not turn on anymore and neither does the back light for all of the HDMI cables hooked up. Edit: Amazon sent me the wrong splitter, a slightly newer model. Still false advertising, so I'm working to get my money back and I'll buy this from ebay instead.

@@PatrickDJGaming that actually happens via usb not hdmi. The hdmi out is for a secondary output like a hdtv.
I get a black screen on my pc but it shows it connected just no video coming through and set up the same way
