- Black Maryland mom Marcia Grant and her son went to Ouzo Bay restaurant in Baltimore’s popular Inner Harbor, but left feeling discriminated against. They were told they could not eat there because Grant’s 9-year-old son didn’t meet the dress code in his shorts and Air Jordan T-shirt. But Marcia pointed out a white child wearing a similar outfit who was dining and asked for an explanation as to why that boy was allowed when her son was not. The restaurant is now apologizing. #InsideEdition

@Juju the restaurant doesn’t hold to your argument, otherwise they would not have placed 2 managers on leave and apologised saying, “this should never have happened.” If there was legitimately a dress code for minors, they would have mentioned it. the fact that he couldn't let go of his ego and continuously tried to find a reason is problematic. If he continued then he would have said it's because he had on black shorts and not blue. That's the issue with prejudice and the ego. It is hard to let go of the ego in the moment. Prejudice can be so indoctrinated that it is normal and we see nothing wrong with it unless we have an epiphany, revelation and introspect on our actions. The ego is so prideful that it is difficult to admit we were wrong instead of releasing the ego and apologizing. He knew he was wrong as soon as she mentioned the other kid's attire.

I a m m a d it’s not racist. The two kids were wearing similar clothes but still different. Those were khaki shorts and the shirt was a regular shirt. The black kid got on a whole basketball attire, which is athletic, breaking the dress code. And at 0:40 u can see a black customer’s arm.
How sad.
