I don't know why RUclips recommended this piece of art now of all times but I am glad I got to hear it. It was great. Infinite's Theme is one of those tracks that while belonging to a rather bashed game, it is a gem for a series that gets more hate than it deserves. The OST of the Sonic games has always remained strong and this just cements that. You made an already cool song even cooler. Who cares if it is 'edgy' or whatnot, it kicks ass. At first, when I heard this song for the first time, I thought the song was referring those four lines to Infinite alone, but the more I re-heard the song the more it made sense that they were talking about the specific Sonic boss (although most people get the metal sonic/shadow parts confused, though you nailed it)
Each one of them also kind of represents an era of Sonic games. Metal is the classic Genesis era, Chaos is the Dreamcast/Adventure games, Shadow is the "Dark Age" games, Zavok is the modern boost games, and Infinite is Forces and everything going forward.

Ever since Chester died I couldn't bring myself to listen to his music again. But this......this made me rediscover my love for Linkin Park as a band. You did Chester a big favor by making this. I bet he's smiling down on you for making this mash up so god damn wonderful. I've listened to this mashup at least seven times since discovering it and it never fails to give me chills down my spine to hear the raw power behind the voices. This truly is a masterpiece above all LP mash ups I've heard. This one I will definitely come back to. Someone with a theme song that edgy deserved powers that would make sans jealous, a backstory that makes Darth Vader look like a sissy and foreboding enough to make you genuinely scared and nervous to fight him. Although in video game bosses the line between scary and frustrating can be pretty blurry sadly. Maybe in a well-written movie with an INFINITE budget *ahem* it would be cool.

Ikr, Forces had so much potential but unfortunately it fell flat. Infinite as a character is cool just needed a stronger boss battle and a better backstory and he would have been as loved as Shadow was.

I mean, he's portrayed as an unstoppable force of chaos, and the lyrics of his theme would suggest that he has outright godlike abilities and is under Eggman's control unwillingly, think Time Eater. Honestly it feels like this is what was planned for him until one of the writers suggested that Shadow call him weak. Get what I mean?

Edge is really good when you lean into it. I think it's why Shadow, Punisher and other popular edgy characters were so loved. Bad edge is when you make an edgy character but don't fully commit. If you want dark, cool and over emotional then you have to commit otherwise it just looks silly

There’s a reason I STILL listen to this after five years. The problem with a lot mashups these days, in this tiktok era of just throwing two random songs together and not even caring if they don’t actually sound good together because “it’s just a joke”, mashups just don’t sound good anymore. This mashup does not follow suit. This is almost ten songs blended together seamlessly. There’s not a second in this almost 9 minute long masterpiece where anything clashes. Every song harmonizes and blends together to the point where an untrained ear that is unfamiliar with Sonic Forces and LP might mistake it for one huge song. That right there is how you know you’ve made something great. There’s no other word for it. It is simply peak

I got cold chills from listening to this not because I love the Infinite song itself but because of the fact that Linkin Park was part of this mix. I'm 17 and I grew up with Linkin Park starting from What I've Done to a few of the newest song and I can safely say that I was devastated when I heard about Chester's passing. The fact that this mix managed to almost bring a tear to my eye as well as giving me cold chills in the process just makes me extremely happy. Someone with a theme song that edgy deserved powers that would make sans jealous, a backstory that makes Darth Vader look like a sissy and foreboding enough to make you genuinely scared and nervous to fight him. Although in video game bosses the line between scary and frustrating can be pretty blurry sadly. Maybe in a well-written movie with an INFINITE budget *ahem* it would be cool.

Ikr, Forces had so much potential but unfortunately it fell flat. Infinite as a character is cool just needed a stronger boss battle and a better backstory and he would have been as loved as Shadow was.

I mean, he's portrayed as an unstoppable force of chaos, and the lyrics of his theme would suggest that he has outright godlike abilities and is under Eggman's control unwillingly, think Time Eater. Honestly it feels like this is what was planned for him until one of the writers suggested that Shadow call him weak. Get what I mean?
As someone who grew up listening to Linkin Park, is a big fan of the Sonic games in general and hasn't really processed Chester's death.... This made me feel things. RIP Chester.

Edge is really good when you lean into it. I think it's why Shadow, Punisher and other popular edgy characters were so loved. Bad edge is when you make an edgy character but don't fully commit. If you want dark, cool and over emotional then you have to commit otherwise it just looks silly

There’s a reason I STILL listen to this after five years. The problem with a lot mashups these days, in this tiktok era of just throwing two random songs together and not even caring if they don’t actually sound good together because “it’s just a joke”, mashups just don’t sound good anymore.
This mashup does not follow suit. This is almost ten songs blended together seamlessly. There’s not a second in this almost 9 minute long masterpiece where anything clashes. Every song harmonizes and blends together to the point where an untrained ear that is unfamiliar with Sonic Forces and LP might mistake it for one huge song. That right there is how you know you’ve made something great. There’s no other word for it. It is simply peak

I got cold chills from listening to this not because I love the Infinite song itself but because of the fact that Linkin Park was part of this mix. I'm 17 and I grew up with Linkin Park starting from What I've Done to a few of the newest song and I can safely say that I was devastated when I heard about Chester's passing. The fact that this mix managed to almost bring a tear to my eye as well as giving me cold chills in the process just makes me extremely happy. This is a love letter to Sonic as a whole and Linkin Park. You've got my sub, now keep on truckin' my friend.

Personally, just between you and me (and obviously the rest of these people that see the comments), I'm eventually wanting to start up a channel myself, once I have the necessary equipment (I'm rather broke at the moment seeing as how I don't have a job as a senior about to graduate high school, and am quite unprepared, but aside from that), with me doing vocal covers with added instrumentation of my own to official or extremely well-made instrumentals.
