I dont know many spots for crappie at all as I just started chasing these fish last year. The spots I know would be the sloughs south of elk grove, but the shoreline is thick with shrubs and not ideal for fly fishing.

Where are good spots in Sacramento to catch crappie around this time?

Any sloughs you can get to are still good, but the fish have moved even shallower because the water is warmer there. Once it gets too cold then they will be in the deeper waters. In short, you sort of have to keep moving to find them. If you find one there is going to be more.

I would suggest that you slow your presentation down. The larger ones like it slower.

Thanks for the advice Pam, I will definitely try that next time. The issue is always to slow it down but not too slow that it hangs up on the bottom.
