    U had the procedure 11-12-21 & am 8 days post-op. I never had gas pains but was constipated from the pain meds they gave me to take home. My dr went thru the wrist. After 3 days I no longer neded psin meds, but still took a week off work. My uterus was also very large, as big as a 5 month pregnancy. It's been 1 week & I can already tell my uterus is smaller & fibroids have shrunk. I'm 48 & probably 4 yrs from menopause and did not want a hysterectomy. I'm praying they continue to shrink & never return!!

    My sister had this procedure today and the worse part for her was the recovery from the anestesia and pain medication. She was throwing up because according to her doctor, it was a side effect of the pain medication. They took her off the narcotics and are just giving her Tylenol for now. She hasn’t been in intense pain, but just uncomfortable. My sister was told to stay overnight. Tomorrow she will start walking and is expected to go home tomorrow evening. I’ll tell my sister to watch out for gas. Great advice! Thank you.

    Thanks for your video! I now added the Uterine Fibroid Embolisation/Facebook group! Bit late but quite nice to discuss what I've been through with other's in the same situation! I am completely frustrated because of no exercise since 2 week's ago when I had my op. I am someone who trained 4-6 times per week and heavily into body building, qualified aerobics & gym instructor also but a full time bus driver for work! I also had terrible bloating and constipation blockages which made me feel terrible not forgetting the stomach sharp cramp pains!!!! On lactose to help with this! Well I hope this is all worth it because right now I am totally upset at the slow recovery process I am experiencing! Feeling lethargic and unmotivated which is torture for this fitness freak! On this not I am going for my walk now and try to remain positive about this experience! ;-)

      Anita how are you now? I’m 22 days since the procedure. My sharp cramps just ended yesterday but still tender in the lower ab area. My wrist and thumb still feel strange here and there. I’m a computer worker so i take it easy when I can and use the heating pad on my arm here and there. The heating pad helped the cramps a lot. I’m off pain meds now but i’ll grab 2 advil if i have taken the discomfort for long enough. I usually take them for bed cuz I have to be comfortable to sleep. Lying on my side feels strange. In fact, lots of strange feelings inside. I’m guessing that catheter going through the arteries takes some time to heal and get back to normal. My 1st period since the procedure has been great. No heavy bleeding at all. No accidents, no having to get up at night to change pads/tampons. So i’m claiming success overall but am still waiting to feel 100% myself. I’m around 82%. Like you i get fatigued quickly just taking a shower.

    i am glad to know that i wasn't the only one that didn't bounce back in two days. that gas pain had me sick for 6 days. i am pretty natural with my diet and i only take natural supplements. they gave me laxative. two antibiotics and colace, it made the painful gas. i thought i was going to die. by day six, i stopped all prescription meds and just drink electrolyte water, and probiotics. that first day, i just laid in the bed and sweat and shook like i was coming off of drugs, by the next morning i was 100 percent better. i truly believe it was all those prescriptions, laxatives, antibiotics and opioid pain meds. it is day 13 after my surgery, i am alot better. thanks for the honest review.

    I had my surgery last week Wednesday a week from today. I had started reacting in the middle of surgery. It’s been a journey for the past week. My doctor knew I would be an extreme car because I have large fibroids all over my uterus. I’m taking it one day at a time.

    • @rjames468
      @rjames468  4 года назад +3

      Yes you definitely have to take it one day at a time. I’m about 6 months out now and I am just beginning to see more shrinking with my belly but still heavy menstrual which I am not happy. But I’ve also read that it could be up to a year post op that you see the full benefits.

      @@ginad9935 hi! I hope your procedure went well and that you have a good quick recovery…💕 For me, Initially I found that I didn’t see any real changes and about 9 months in my heavy days shortened to about 3 vs 4/5 heavy days. After everything seemed to balance out I would say I mainly didn’t have bad cramps. What has helped me at this point is that I am now taking DIM
      which helps to eliminate excess estrogen and now I only have 1/2 days of a heavy cycle and it’s still not as heavy as it was which is good for me. Also cycle shortened to 5 days vs 7. I feel good and feeling much better about my belly now. I’m hoping as I continue to take this supplement it will cause the fibroids to continue shrinking and by that time I’m sure menopause will hit 😂…just remember everyone is impacted differently with the procedure. Much success!

    I read and saw a lot of horror stories about ufe before I got the procedure a year ago. I have to say it wasn't that bad at all for me. I had some intense cramping after the procedure that lasted a few days, but naproxen helped more than oxy. I also did not get constipated, but I attribute that to not taking oxy and taking probiotics daily with my antibiotics. I had a bit of gas but it went away and didn't cause much pain. I was fatigued for about two weeks. Also, the catheter that was inserted while i was in the hospital was no fun, but no adverse reactions to the sedation or antibiotics in the hospital. The only issue is that my fibroids are large, so they didn't shrink much. So, 1 yr later, I'm looking at a hysterectomy. Would I do the ufe again? Yes, because I always want to try the least invasive approach, but it won't eliminate the issue for everyone.

So far I am at month 9 and last month and this month my cycle has moved from 7 days to about 3 days!! 🙌🏽 Finally 🤗 I have no idea why it has taken so long for me. After the procedure I saw no real changes in my cycle until now and in fact I felt like it was almost worse.😞. But every single person is different which is why I have been patiently waiting to see what other changes may occur. Some people had their fibroids shrink in 3 months and have a 1 day cycle🤔. Didn’t happen with me lol but I can now say it’s looking like there are changes still coming.

      Don’t think of pain, it’s more discomfort. There is nausea, due to not having any appetite and drinking liquids only. I suggest low sodium soups, apple juice, orange juice, milk. You’ll get pain meds so all u need to do is stay ahead of the pain. A heating pad will be your best friend for at least the 1st 3 weeks. Each day you’ll get better. Shower daily, the discharge can lead to UTI so be super careful about wiping. Buy baby wipes to help that. Take it easy. You’ll need at least a week off work or more if you have a job that requires movement. You’ll find yourself getting fatigued easily. Sleeping is not going to be comfortable the first several nights like 3-4. Take your pain meds in time for bed to ensure you get rest. The body heals when you sleep so try to sleep. i’m on day 22 post procedure. I’m about 82% my procedure was May 9th. I had one large fibroid hanging inside the uterus so for me, each day there was some tissue falling out maybe qtr sized the 1st week or so then smaller. My 1st period started May 25 and it’s been very manageable. Not soaking through. No accidents while sleeping. I’m only using pads. You aren’t supposed to use tampons or douche. Sexual activity can resume when you feel like you’re 100%. My radiologist went through my wrist but this healing process is taking time. So be sure to use a heating pad on your hand/arm. My cramping now is very dull. I take 2 advil before bed so that i’m sleeping comfortable. The aches can wake u due to the discomfort. Take your pain meds. I drank prune juice, ate raisin bran, and ate prunes like 5. That should help keep your bowels soft. The opioids fix the pain but constipate you severly. But u gotta do what u gotta due cuz you can take some of the pain after say like 2 weeks but when it’s persistent you have to give yourself comfort. I had Torodal (Keterolac) and Hdryocodone. If u take the first pill and the other an hour later. Pain should not be an issue for you. Constipation will be but eat high fiber to combat it. It takes at least 1 month to get back to normal. I am not at 1 month yet but I’m mobile. I keep the heating pad near me and ready to use for any discomfort. It helps.

    • @tagates001
      @tagates001 2 года назад +3

      Last thing…. your going to need the soups to have something on your belly with those pain meds. They require food or milk. As you keep with fluids…you’ll be up going to the pot constantly. It’s annoying buts it’s necessary. Change your pads often. Going to the potty helps your movements cuz it’s good for u to move. Don’t try cleaning or washing dishes around the house. You’ll need to relax but walking a bit around the house helps. Day 5-6 or 7 I sat outside for a few hours to let the sun shine on me. Sunlight lifts your spirits cuz you’re going to feel crappy until you’re back to yourself.

      eniola test channel omg! I didn’t return to work for at least 4 weeks only because I was teaching dance fitness classes and that was way too much bouncing around. I did start training people (I’m also a personal trainer) about 1-2 weeks but was not able to demonstrate any moves.

      Hi Julia I apologize for such a late response...hopefully all is well now. During my surgery the gas was debilitating..I did however find that drinking kombucha helped a lot. Taking all of the antibiotics stripped all of my good bacteria so it must be replaced.
