- Peugeot can’t make a fast hatchback without folk banging on about the 205 GTi. The 205 GTi from 1984. Probably time to move on, people.
Obviously we’d never do that. Here’s our review of the very modern (and very good) Peugeot 308 GTi 270.

I don't really agree about the following points :
- low speed comfort, it is actually really great for a sport hatchback and much better than the golf gti
- low position steering well and touch screen interface : basically you don't change the temperature all the time so it's not a problem, and the small steering well give a nice position for resting shoulders while driving.
This is the beauty of subjectivity. Thanks for your thoughts. :-)
A lot of people don’t actually realise that steering wheel is meant to be that bit lower than the gauges to, as you said ‘rest your shoulders’.
I don’t agree it was a wise move but then the dealerships should of take it upon themselves to explain....
Also like explain if you ain’t doing long distances often.... don’t buy a diesel!
And also warm the car up before thrashing or you’ll break it.
Weeeey!
Thanks for judging this car by it's own merits rather than by the 205s legacy of really rather nostalgic and rose-tinted old journalists
I thought she did a great job on reviewing this car :)
Yes! Because of the hair. Excellent. 👏👏👏
WHY go on about the 205. Comparing it with the 309 or the 306 would have been much more relevant.
Exactly.
probably THE worse review out there!! too bad, this car is actually pretty good!
If you thought this was bad, one time Mark said that B*Witched would be "bigger than The Beatles and New Kids On The Block combined."
Your wrong....could watch more of him...breath of fresh northern air...
FYI it’s faster to 0-60mph than the 6.2 sec stated, it’s more like 5.7 seconds, the golf gti performance pack with only 240bhp can do it in 5.7 seconds and that’s even heavier than this 308 gti so with this 308 gti having more power and being lighter it can crack 0 to 60mph in 5.7 or 5.6 easily.
Truly refreshing, I like these reviews!
So many dislikes already? Peugeot fanbois will never be pleased.
What relevance does the 205 have to this car? Surely if your going to bang on about predecessors you'd be talking 306 GTi-6, or maybe 309 GTi. And as for the Golf....well if someone is looking at one of these it probably because they are sick and tired of the golf, so save us the usual "buy a golf" drivel and just tell us about this car! If I wanted a golf I'd not be watching 308 videos!
Thats why he didn't mention the 205 see...
Trying a bit too hard to be a different review. A straightforward appraisal would have been less irritating
I like the car but thought the review, & reviewer were terrible!!
I like RUclips but thought the comment, & commenter were terrible!!
the focus st engine is a 2 litre not 2.5
Moss They also did an ST as a 2.5. It had the Volvo engine...
FYI
This or i30 n performance
James4 Callaghan i30 N way better
Honest john, I have to be honest with you. Your review was horrible because I have this car and I love it. It's a great family car with a big boot space, just wish it had more room in the back seat, but lucky for me I have kids so it's enough space for my boys.
Just one issue with it now, the Renault megane and it amazing 4ws system
The New Megane with its 1.8T still can’t beat this 308 Gti in a straight line drag or on the track! It’s been proven on head to head videos👍🏻
I like baguette!!)
How much do VW pay these clowns!?
Nothing, Mr Woodhouse. The Flat Earth Society pays us so much that we don’t need VW’s money. 👍🏻
Nice car, with way better design that the Golf GTI, still the guy in the video review is a clown, a boring clown
Thanks Victor. Shame that - I’m a big fan of your work. M. x
HonestJohn.co.uk , man you have potential, the first half of.the video.is.boring, the second part is way better.....peace man...
tiny wheels he said hahahaha it has 19 inches wheels if that is tiny for you you pro0bably driving bmw x6 with 23 inches wheels xD
What an irritating review. I switched off after about a minute and a half.
Shame, the best bit is at about 1:35...
first
Um bongo hahaha
BS
It's difficult to associate with a reviewer who has such different taste from me. I detest male ponytails and visible tattoos.
That's the first time Mark has been accused of having 'taste'. He'll be pleased with that.
crappy car.no relation to the old Peugeot.no comfort.CHEAP rear suspension!the last real Peugeot was 306 ( independent trailing arm/torsion bar).only for teenagers who don"t know about cars.
Just an hater
First, I didn’t hate it. I liked it. I just didn’t think it was quite brilliant. Second, I have zero reason to be biased towards or against this car. You, on the other hand... 😂
I just don't get one thing... Why anyone would spend £29k on one of these (or at least do this pay to borrow thing people are doing with modern new cars) and NOT choose a Civic Type R for £2k more. I mean if you are not going for comfort why not get a more powerful, better handling, better looking car that will hold it's value if you do happen to have around £31k laying around and buy it out right. Why? Just why?
James Smith Better looking....
Mate the new Civic Type R is awful!
Those vents, massive skirts and that spoiler...
It’s like Honda binge watched Fast & Furious and then decided to take all inspiration from 2F2F and visit their local Halfords for design ideas....
they even stole the GTI synonym frot the VW haha. Peugeout is such a lame car manufacturer. BTW the review was great and entertaining
BrateTebra123 t.z. Streptomicin za muski rod
Then why did you search for and watch the clip then?
Never ever ever ever will I purchase a Peugeot again after past experience. When I see people driving one I feel sorry for them . Bad life choice
David Jones
What if people wanted not to be sheep and decided to be different..
And feel sorry for them...
Wow....
I bet your fun at parties...
I once had a bad shit, I will never have another shit again....
Weeeey!
