It doesn't matter if you use your turn signal when turning or parking. You still need to make sure the way is clear. Similarly - it doesn't matter if the light is red or green. You need to check for oncoming traffic. People run lights all the time. Driving cautiously and defensively can save your life and your vehicle.
Tip:it doesn’t matter what car you have there is a 95% chance the car will be totaled even if one airbag went off although if it was somehow light enough of an impact it may be replaceable

I consider most of those events "rolling coal" - nobody sane drives like the drivers seen in this video. Press gas to 100%, then release it completely - only to step again to 100% like a second later. Normally you'd press gas to the level that allows you to keep in the flow of traffic on city streets. In particular this truck driver had somebody else infront, so no real reason to accelerate again and again - except to spew black smoke at the EV behind

11:08 Having lived in Baton Rouge, that specific spot is a really bad place to get in a crash. It's just east of the Mississippi River crossing and I-110 split, but west of the 10/12 split. The only exits go to small surface streets in suburban BR. There's a reason Baton Rouge, despite its relatively small population of about 500k people in the metro, has some of the worst traffic in the country, and the poor road planning is one of them.
I don't understand, why is a Tesla totalled because the airbag deployed? The car looked mildly damaged otherwise. Why just throw the entire car away because of the airbags?
Airbags are very expensive to repair in cars. It very common for cars to be totaled because of Airbags going off. They are also hard to replace on most cars. It's easier just to write the car off.
@@jdub4626 So if the car has minior damage in the front, basically some scratches, then it would cost more than 30-40k to replace the airbags? That does not sound right and I would be very angry if I was an insurance company if Tesla said that it would cost nearly as much as a new car. If that is the case it's a big design flaw that needs to be fixed.
Why didn't Asura let that bmw overtake him, even though it wasn't legal action? And even forced him to make a crash. In the seccond atempt it was Asura who made an ilegal action too. That's how you make people hate Teslas. Don't be surprised if you see a key skratch on your Teslas.
That Honda Autopia ride would be much more fun if the throttle response on the karts was better. As of now they’re one pedal cars, release the gas = brake, press the gas = throttle. It’s like the throttle is operated by a hyperactive squirrel, the brake is operated by a sloth, a turtle is monitoring the pedal and they’re all talking to each other through a few tin cans and some string. When you press the gas the engine starts trying to move and the brake gets released 2 seconds later. Those two seconds consists of the centrifugal clutch just getting cooked beyond hell. Other than all that the ride was fun.
zeiroe obviously wasn't careful enough because she didn't bother to look left and right before she entered the intersection. Just because you have a green light doesn't mean you have the right to proceed without caution.
Always safer to slow when approaching and crossing busy intersections. It's not about the law and the right of way, it's about safety, which supercedes the law.
Mr Wheelchair - it's hard to tell, but it looks like the guy was crossing diagonally through the intersection and expecting everyone to stop. It only takes one person texting and splat! .
"you shouldn't gun it when a traffic light turns green!" - nope, sorry. Check for sirens or flashing emergency lights, but otherwise, feel free to punch it, Instead, you shouldn't try to beat a stale yellow. If you wait for a few seconds if there might be a car that ran the red light, long term people will start to treat yellow as a strange green. Of course, if you notice them in time, brake to avoid, but you're not required to check if there is a car coming from the direction that is supposed to stop.
“Not required,” will get you killed. But hey, when you’ve been thrown into the retaining wall at the intersection up the street from me, your car a pretzel, everyone screaming, and your blood dripping out to mingle with the gas spilling from under the car, you can self righteously declare you weren’t required to check. True story. The intersection up the street from me constantly is forever changing people’s lives. The city doesn’t even replace the one street sign or historic marker anymore. And nobody in the know waits at the actual bus stop anymore, you wait well behind it.
I didn't know a Friend of mine had bought a Honda until he came up to my house driving it. He had things to buy in the Big Town 15 miles away and asked if I wanted to go. I said yes and we left. How could Lt Butterfinger possibly have right of way at 6:15? He's entering a major road from a minor road. Regardless, he saw the oncoming car on the left and then slowly drove out in front of it - that's just suicidal. I don't believe a word of that story, major "and then everyone clapped" vibes.
Uhh Cary needs to contact a lawyer or the insurance provider, theres a lot of legal precedent that insurance should cover the replacement cost of the vehicle, not just its original value.
#11 Turn signal? Turn signal wouldn't have changed who was at fault. Dude in the hatchback barely came to a stop before throwing his car in reverse and stomping the throttle. Exactly what I was thinking. Had my Model 3 SR+ totaled last October, I had paid $37k after incentives and insurance gave me $52k for it. She should fight that unless she didn't have comprehensive insurance?
The first one from Penelope, I don’t think it was purposely directed at her. It may have been but I’m not really sure. The sad thing is, I don’t even drive a Tesla, I drive a Nissan Altima, that does have Auto Steer and adaptive cruise, so it has some of the same cool benefits that the Teslas do, wished I had one, but that’s a story for another time, but anyways, I’ve had coal rolled on me, idk why, it may be because my car is kinda decked out to resemble that of a Model S, so they may think I have a Tesla, idrk, but yea. But I just laugh when they do it cause I’m like yep, you just burnt up $10 in diesel 😂
People are saying that Penelope wasn't a victim of rolling coal, yet she was. it doesn't seem as if it was directed towards her, but truck drivers kind of suck so it probably was.

1:06 Man, that car is totally fine... It's probably even still drivable. At this rate electric vehicles won't be greener than ICE since manufacturing a whole new EV (especially the battery!) wastes so much more than manufacturing a new ICE car or just repairing it. I know it's the insurance's fault, but the facts that Teslas cost so much to repair and take so much time is probably a factor. I just hope they'll be recovering the battery and other things from that car since they're probably good as new.
@@GrillerRohde A lot of that can be repaired, unless it’s pretty extensive structural damage. Of course it wouldn’t be worth it on a 20 year old car that would’ve died a couple of years from now, but on a recent (and expensive) EV that pollutes so much just by manufacturing it I’d think twice about totalling it. arent you suppose to take the old plates off tho? and front plate doesnt matter youre suppose to display it in the back? have you even owned a car before?

I agree, it’s the temporary plates. And you can’t tell that well, it looks like it isn’t a plate but the dealer plate. Where they bought the car, and instead of taking it off. They just put the paper plate over it. They no longer put stickers in the windows, not sure if it’s the same in every state. But in California they have to display the new plate, if they leave the dealer plate and put sticker in window. They can get pulled over and get a ticket.

You people don't know how to fight an insurance company. They call it a "settlement" because you are settling for LESS than what you are really owed. You are OWED compensation to be made whole. I have taken them to court every time and DEMANDED 100% reimbursement plus costs. Every time the insurance lawyer slime tells the judge "we made them a fair offer", he always replied, "I'll determine what is fair here and if your offer was fair, we wouldn't be here." I have been awarded the maximum estimate of replacement every time.
#5 So basically Asura could have just let BMW driver get ahead of him and some working stiff wouldn’t have been hit.

@@TheOwlGuy777 Got his karma? At the expense of someone else. You’re now basically saying anyone who wrecks into another car, got their karma. That utility van did nothing, zero, nada, just at the light going about their day but then had to deal with being hit. That’s what you consider karma? Why? Agree. He also increased his own danger by accelerating closer to the vehicle in front. Accelerating in a dangerous situation is usually an idiotic move.
First clip: Do these drivers just close their eyes when entering intersections? Yes, the Honda jumped a red light, but they were coming from the drivers side, a cursory glance left to ensure no one was jumping the lights could have saved Zeiro a lot of hassle. Props to the daughter though for not just hitting the go peddle as soon as the green lights lit up. So many people just floor it when the lights go green.

If a car is totaled, the total cost of the replacement is the cost of the new car minus how much they sell the damage car for.
Good to know. Now if someone hits me I'll extort them for the full amount.
Long ago I was told that they could total a car that had to replace three 'major' components. So if the front airbags went off the car was (IS!) totaled. And with the overinflated price of Tesla parts, they can just about total it for a scratched rim.
There's already people lining up to get their hands on that first "totalled" Tesla.
4:26 Asura is just as much of fault for this one. Could have just let the other driver in front. Tone down the ego
Next time you witness a violation of law you can easily prevent - tone down your ego and do nothing instead
I thought the same thing. Better to let the idiot be an idiot and get in front than either get into an accident yourself or cause the idiot to make one involving some poor innocent.

8:34 Those narrow roads are very common in the UK. Other than major main roads, most streets are this narrow. We don’t have overly huge cars like the US/Canada so they aren’t necessary.
My thought as well, these streets are very common in Europe and in some places in Italy this street would have nearly been wide enough for two way traffic
Why do the repairs of Teslas cost SO freaking much?? Future Cybertruck owner wants to know.
its a high end luxury car, everything is going to be expensive about it like an iphone. like in body shops they can do the same repair to a toyota bumper and itd cost $500, same fix on an audi $5k cuz the bumper new costs $8k. not really about cost of repair but cost of ownership. plus any repairs other than body you need a specialized mechanic AND expensive electrical components like the motor or literally anything with it. and what makes those parts expensive when needing replacement and funnels down to repairs is all the additional sensors n crap that are connected to everything else
I wouldn't use damage to S/X/3/Y as a reference for Cybertruck, as they use a completely different style of body.
10:10 that wasn’t rolling coal! It was flying coal instead!
at 2:20 the GMC doesn't have a paper covering the license plate.. it's a brand new vehicle. in California you're given a temporary paperish license plate until you get your official plates in the mail.

wanted to comment the same thing. Asura was just as big of an ahole as the BMW driver. He is none the better and after all he escalated an already dangerous situation by provoking an aggressive driver. The good solution would have been to let the idiot go and thus deescalate the situation. Too much ego, unfortunately, prevented him from doing the right thing...

In Clip 3, you say the vehicle hit them at 50 MPH. No way. I was in a collision at 40 MPH with more damage. He was going closer to 20 than 50 MPH.
I was clickling on "x" when the sponsor video was playing lol. Did it more than couple times until i realized its a video XD

If I watched Wham Baam Teslacam for over 2 years, I think I’m satisfied
zeiroe obviously wasn't careful enough because she didn't bother to look left and right before she entered the intersection. Just because you have a green light doesn't mean you have the right to proceed without caution.

8:14 WAIT WHAT
"you shouldn't gun it when a traffic light turns green!" - nope, sorry. Check for sirens or flashing emergency lights, but otherwise, feel free to punch it,
Instead, you shouldn't try to beat a stale yellow.

One thing I have found is that, all over the world, BMW drivers are consistently considered the biggest douchebags. This video further backs that up.
I didn't know a Friend of mine had bought a Honda until he came up to my house driving it. He had things to buy in the Big Town 15 miles away and asked if I wanted to go. I said yes and we left. Diesel puffing smoke is not purposely rolling coal on the Tesla in my opinion. Some change their trucks to smoke stacks
10:11 no its just the way the trucks tuned and when ever they step on the throttle a bit or the transmission shifts it will "Huff and Puff"
How could Lt Butterfinger possibly have right of way at 6:15? He's entering a major road from a minor road. Regardless, he saw the oncoming car on the left and then slowly drove out in front of it - that's just suicidal. I don't believe a word of that story, major "and then everyone clapped" vibes.
after i saw this channel, i have been trying to be in one of the videos and i have been waving at teslas cameras sience 2020
He definitely didn't have time to check his mirrors and register that there was a car there. Using his turn signal would not have absolved him of _any amount_ of fault in this incident.
I hope the truck has a five star safety rating

The first one from Penelope, I don’t think it was purposely directed at her. It may have been but I’m not really sure. The sad thing is, I don’t even drive a Tesla, I drive a Nissan Altima, that does have Auto Steer and adaptive cruise, so it has some of the same cool benefits that the Teslas do, wished I had one, but that’s a story for another time, but anyways, I’ve had coal rolled on me, idk why, it may be because my car is kinda decked out to resemble that of a Model S, so they may think I have a Tesla, idrk, but yea.
How do you know the frame or body didn’t get damaged?
Is the suspension okay? Did any of the electronics get damaged etc.
