    I think you could wash in hot water with liquid soap, air dry, and then sterilize once a day -- i love hearing about how you are doing things, so great!

    You made me feel like I was living in middle ages ;). I have non chlorinated water, I'm blessed to have my own spring water in the well. I also use cloth diapers half of the time to give the baby a break from the nasty plastic smelling ones. The prefold cloth diapers are very good, I only use 2 more than if I was using regular ones. Do I need to sterilize bottles after every use then? Thank you for a good video.

    Hi Melissa so I have a question, I recently purchased a medela breast pump from a friend who smoked & the smell of still lingers in the bag and bottles & I have sanitized cleaned & even sprayed to get rid of the smoke smell & it's still there. Do you have any suggestions how to get rid of it for good. Thanks so much for the vids. Love them!! Xoxo

    I would keep trying to nurse on that other breast too and look into whether he is getting a good latch there! LMK how it is going!

    Hi Melissa, what if you pump more than once a day. Do you wash all of your equipment like in the video every time or just at the end of the day? What do you do with it in between pumping sessions?

    Hi Melissa
    Thank u so much your videos are very helpful.... I would like to know how you wash & air dry pacifiers. Actually my problem is my 3 months old daughter uses dr. Brown pacifier, every time when I wash them I can't rinse inside water completely. Water bubbles are inside the nipple part. One more thing I like to know is which detergent you recommend for babies cloth. Thanks once again :)

      prajna ray Yikes -- I would check the instructions on the paci -- I would think hot soapy water but if it's not cleaning inside, that is a problem -- also don't know if top of dishwasher is safe? For babies clothes, I now recommend some sort of gentle organic detergent that does not have harsh chemicals nor bleach --

    Hi Melissa,
    Can I set my stove heat to low and drop in all my plastic bottles?
    Boiling them for 5 mins that is what I normally do.
    But my bottles get milky easily, can I practice this method let's say every once a week?
    I'm using Avent BPA-free plastic bottles ;)

    Im a first time mom...i wonder what kind of soap to be use in cleaning bottles...since my mom taught me not to use any. I just clean bottles with tap water and put it directly on my sterilizer

    I hated how my son-in-law tossed the nipples and nipple rings in a little basket in the dishwasher and the parts would fill with garbage water with food particles from the dishwasher and he would just pour it out and consider the nipples clean. I don't even think a dishwasher gets the bottles clean. The water does not get up inside the bottles adequately. What do you think?

    Tubing doesnt come in contact with breast milk?? How so?

    • @recon501st2
      @recon501st2 4 года назад

      On the breast pumps i have seen, the tubing for the air pump doesnt come in contact with the breast milk. Most of those tubes also have a sticker on them that's says "Do Not Wash". Your breast pump might be diffrent, I would read the Manual and maybe email the manufacturers.

    Is it ok to put in dishwasher or put in boiling water

  • @Calebifly
    @Calebifly 9 лет назад

    Is it bad to use the dishwasher every time? This is my second baby but with my first one I always boiled his bottles every time and the dishwasher is easier and seems safer. What do you think?

      Hello Little Lady... For thousands of years people have been boiling baby bottles and everything else and those babies grew in numbers healthy babies and you and I are proof of all that I say so my humble suggestion is to keep it simple and old-fashioned because it works .

      If the manufacturer for the product says it's dishwasher safe, then you can use it every time.

    My hospital told me not to get the tubing wet because then mold could grow on it since there is no efficient way to dry it fully
