I just can’t believe that this content is free 😂😂😂😂😂 seriously !!!! Mark my words in the next 2 years. These guys will be the Uk go to guys for anything business related. How I found them was on apple podcasts I just typed in business podcasts and all of them I saw on my first page and I listened the first one minute of each and with these guys podcasts I could just feel the aura of sincerity off the first few words I just knew that I was in the right place 😂
Love the start. You two are the Ant and Dec of business podcasts. My thoughts on more business going busts is the bounce back loans. Small businesses realise that its easier to close the business than struggle paying back the loans.
Best episode so far! I would have liked to have heard more about his struggles at the beginning of his journey. How he kept the faith, how his struggles affected his life at the time, when the turning point was, was he paying himself or just re-investing in the business. But that’s just nitpicking!
Another good episode. Sad fact about the lost businesses. Like the new segment, but maybe you could add something interesting that happened this week/month with your own businesses.
Good episode. Cheers, fellas. The quote/fact segment is pretty good. I'd cull the "guest rating" segment as I don't feel it provides any value, and I don't think it's the kindest thing you can do for your guests. On a more positive note, I like the higher or lower segment, although JB might want to check out Jimbo's eyes at 1:03:34, 1:03:35, and again at 1:03:37. Either he's developed a passion for staring at plain white paper, or something fishy is going down 🕵♂
Interesting chat and looking forward to the day in the life. I would say on the website front is that at scale and depending on distribution volume B2B websites can be really important. Not necessarily a B2B marketing site but a self-service B2B portal is really useful. I currently run a portal that processes millions of pounds in self-service B2B orders each month and reduces the administrative burden around taking orders. In the industry I operate however everything is ordered in smaller batches but more frequently. In addition EDI integration and other similar solutions really help make it easier to process orders and retain larger customers.
Can you add a section where you recommend 1 entrepreneurial resource per episode? E.g a Book, podcast, newspaper, blog, tv show.... Anything entrepreneurial related
I’d imagine more business have gone bust recently vs in 2008 predominantly due to the government taking more from every pound a business makes than ever before putting pressure on them
Could be partly due to cheap interest rates from 2008-2022. A lot of businesses were built on cheap money. Interest rates go up = a lot of businesses with bad fundamentals go bust
A customer of mine previously did a travelling pod cast where they would do it at the premises of the person they were interviewing. It was a great format, although I get you guys batch a bunch on a day which would make it difficult to do
I wish my diary would allow it; I’d love to make stuff like that, it’s just time. What I bring to the table is actually running a business, I’m in the thick of it every day and if that stopped I wouldn’t be able to know what I’m talking about.
Absolutely one of the best episodes!
