whether I’m working on one of our cars or cooking or doing house chores or yardwork, I listen to her in the background so often just for the calming, good-natured, wholesome, loving assurance that her voice gives.
This is my first Nigella recipe that I tried out and OMG it was the most deliciously moist and soft chocolate cake I've ever made. I am lactose intolerant so no dairy was good option and loved every bite of this gorgeous cake. I did have Icing leftovers as I am not into it. You should try this recipe, its simple and delicious!
I didn't think I could adore or admire Nigella more, but then I heard "Let's Get It On" accompanying the creation of that gloriously dark and decadent delight! Epic!
Made this the other day. I had made a wee bit more icing so I could put icing in between the layers and cover the top and the side as well. I decorated the cake with homemade mixed nut praline pieces. It was like death by chocolate 😍
I tried this yesterday to take to friends for dinner. The recipe works perfectly and the cake is delicious! Very moist and rich and great for a desert cake :)
Very very rich and super moist and more pudding than cake but no, its not overly sweet, just very chocolatey. Made it for friends today for afternoon tea and they struggled as they said it would suit having after dinner with cream. As a greedy vegan who loves chocolate and cake i LOVED it and you'd never ever know it was vegan! Thank you Nigella
this is on replay on my laptop everymorming.... relaxing music plus nigella's voice makes all the difference! (the cake looks absolutely fantastic too.)
never thought i'd see nigella turning her back on butter and eggs, but i must say that if this cake wasn't delicious, probably she wouldn't make it. plus, it looks amazing with the pink and green bits on top.
Made it as a birthday cake. Turned out perfect. Everybody loved it. Love you Nigella for the perfect chocolate cake. Just follow the recipe. Chocolate Ganache is little more than what is called for. You should make 2/3 of the said amount. Garnishing is simply stunning.
I made this today for a birthday. Everyone LOVED it, kids and grown-ups alike. I omitted the pistachios (one guest had a nut allergy) and substituted with coconut flakes, which worked amazing. Incredible cake!
I've been making this recipe for over 3 years.. it's always been favoured by so many people! Then I lost the recipe and couldn't find it on RUclips anymore. I just found it again and I'm so glad 😍😍 will make it this Friday
DR you can’t taste the coconut oil whatsoever, I would think that any other neutral oil would work okay. But the sesame oil may add another type of more savoury flavour so I’m not too sure
My lacto vegetarian grandma made this when we were growing up. It's called Crazy Cake and you can technically put the dry mixed ingredients in the pan and then add three wells and pour the liquid in them. Then stir and pop in the oven. Just a way to not dirty more dishes. 💕
A cup of strong tea in my hand with a coffee mask on my face, swinging on my wooden swing at night and watching nigella making a chocolate cake with Marvin Gaye playing in the background.......damn the vibe!!!
I think I'll use this as an alarm clock sound. Everything is perfect. Sound, images... and the cake! I made it and it turned out great. Mine didnt have a coconuty flavour, so if you dont like coconut I dont think it should be a problem. Very dark and sumptuous, great for cocoa lovers.
I made this for New Year's eve, adorned it with almonds and pomegranate seeds and it is indeed a treat, moreover sooo easy to make! I would even argue that the icing was too chocolatey (now here's the phrase I thought I would never say) so if you don't have enough of chocolate bars, just use some icing sugar/marple syrup with coconut oil and cocoa powder and it will be as good as needed :)
I really miss Nigella’s fairy ways of introducing her recipes in such artsy colorful and musical jazzy warming vibes - it’s more than food; it’s a therapeutical into to home coming 🌷🌷🌸🌸🌱🌱 and home making - 101 human
I’ve just made this velvety dark delicious cake. Every ingredient has been perfectly measured to create a perfect rich taste. Thank you Nigella for this masterpiece 🍰☕️🍫👍🏼😘
How is it possible that she has gotten even more beautiful ? I adore her and would watch her boil water and talk about new fences 🤷🏻♀️. She is an amazingly resilient woman in my opinion. I wish her nothing but happiness.
Wow! listen to that music in the background.Goes with her. She is my favorite chef cook whatever shes awesome. She makes me hungry for her food. Our nz chocolate she makes it even yummier
I watch Nigella's show to relax and feel good about the world. There is such a positive energy about her presence. Unlike her nutters contemporaries, Jamie and Gordon.
It reminds me of a family recipe I have called "wacky cake". It's called that because it uses vinegar to react with the bicarb. You end up with quite a fudgey cake.
I really want to make this one - I prefer chocolate cakes that taste a bit more on the grown-up side (ie with a dark bitterness rather than kids party sickly-sweetness) and I've made 3 of hers so far and really enjoyed them! Just a case of getting hold of coconut butter (easily online no doubt.)
probably one of the first vegan recipes id actually make myself because 1: it doesnt use hard to find or expensive ingredients nor does it use many products derived from chemicals; and 2: the vast majority of vegan baking i have seen or experienced has been either very very dry or really bland but THAT CAKE looks like the most chocolatey thing i have ever seen...
Is it just me who watches nigella cooking for relaxation or is there anyone else too?
Also, a shoutout to the shooting team for bringing a short classic cooking movie!
I watch her for relaxation and also to learn many of her recipes.
She is sublime and so is the music, the kitchen, the dishware and the cookware.
whether I’m working on one of our cars or cooking or doing house chores or yardwork, I listen to her in the background so often just for the calming, good-natured, wholesome, loving assurance that her voice gives.
Same! Watching her cook is very relaxing and calming
Is it weird that watching this is helping calm my period cramps?!
Not at all!!! It's doing the exact same for me too right now! Lol
No it's not because nigella is like a comforting mother figure
Omg me too right now, lol
Yes weird please keep your body functions to yourself!!!! Gross
I'm here to soothe my anxiety so no it's not weird at all
She treats every moment as a moment to live for, a sensual moment, damn woman
"It needs to be left for 30 minutes to set, but that's a big ask"
Goodness Nigella, what a woman!
the music at the end and the rose petals with her saying "whatever your heart's desire" ... I just melted !
Watching this was so therapeutic
I know, I kinda had the same feeling as well.
Yes, same for me haha so therapeutic and relaxing.
All of her shows are just mesmerizing.
RobynnexPaula it was !!! It was!!!
It also feels like listening to a literature lesson.

what's coconut butter???!!!
Yes I made it last Christmas! Such a hit! Highly recommend
Cold water as in room temperature or cold?
Vishakha Bhela the second stage of the recipe you need hot to boiling water to melt the coconut oil.
it was just ok for me.
I still can't wrap my head around that she is almost 60!
60 ! 😲..wow By God bless her 👍
Please tell me am not the only one watching her vids with a smile
Her SMILE IS CONTAGIOUS 😊

Our US TV personalities are so boorish compared to what you got in UK. Truly enjoy every single word which comes out of her mouth!
raffik55 Paula Deen is hilarious. I never laughed so hard at a cookery show.
She makes everything look effortless! A joy to watch.
I tried this yesterday to take to friends for dinner. The recipe works perfectly and the cake is delicious! Very moist and rich and great for a desert cake :)
Was it very sweet? Or just right?
Very very rich and super moist and more pudding than cake but no, its not overly sweet, just very chocolatey. That wonderful shot of London at 4:55 and the cake looks good too.
Adore Nigella..
everthing she makes is so full of love and quite amazing..
What a gifted soul.
Made that cake today .. Use vegetable oil instead of coconut oil. It was yummy and moist . Thanks for the recipe Nigella.. You are awesome

She made it at the request of a vegan friend.
Made it as a birthday cake. Turned out perfect. Everybody loved it. Love you Nigella for the perfect chocolate cake. Just follow the recipe. Chocolate Ganache is little more than what is called for. You should make 2/3 of the said amount. Garnishing is simply stunning.
I adore watching her teach us about food and learning from her...she makes it look effortless x

Do you use coconut butter?
omg! this is a jaw-dropping cake. I'm so impressed it doesn't have eggs. I love Nigella.
@The Foxt Um... there are quite a lot of vegans around these days, in case it had passed you by.
I’ve made this a dozen times. Always beautiful and delicious. I love Nigella!
I've made this cakes so many times and it's soooooooooooooo good
Coconut oil in cake? Won't it taste funny? Can I use sesame oil and normal butter?
DR you can’t taste the coconut oil whatsoever, I would think that any other neutral oil would work okay. But the sesame oil may add another type of more savoury flavour so I’m not too sure

this is the most british thing i have watched in my entire life
Constance von Igel You've obviously not seen "Absolutely Fabulous" haha
Watch a royal wedding
Except it looks like it actually tastes good, which isn't too British.
Have you watched anything to do with Mary Berry?

Nigella’s shows are the best things to watch when you’re hungover
Just tried this and it's the best eggless cake I have baked so far! Soft and moist and that chocolate icing/sauce is to die for :)
Thank you Nigella! What a warm and cozy tutorial on how to make chocolate cake.
Love it... Love your cool and serene confidence while cooking anything. I'm a bag of nerves
As soon as she poured on that chocolate icing my jaw dropped haha
Only Nigella (and her team) would think to make a chocolate cake and follow it with "Let's Get It On" 😂💖🥰 perfectly on brand and a joy to watch

The music and the visuals of London make me feel like I'm in a Hugh grant movie
I tried this cake and I loved it. however, I would suggest you to use vegetable oil instead of coconut oil if you don't really like coconut flavour.
+Aarohi Abhyankar you tried it with vegetables oil and it worked ? cause i cant find coconut oil :/
Yess it did.
thank you
+Aarohi Abhyankar What about the icin, did you prepare that with just regular oil too?

@Maddy Grayson lol okay, thanks.

The REAL question is doing what????
She and Gordon when on a Masterchef episode this season I just don't know which one
They don't get on with each other.
Awesome, easy to follow recipes.
So much asmr
The music is great
I’ve made this and it’s so good!!!!

+Leigh Brown Watching a gorgeous man making a delicious chocolate cake?
this is the best vegan chocolate cake in the world, actually scratch that it is the best chocolate cake EVER.
It's better to hear Nigella talks while cooking than her voiceover
