I can appreciate your wanting to keep it stock. But you really should move the battery out from under the gas tank. All the old timers, the guys who farmed with Molines did.

It's not called a fly wheel, it's called a belt pully. It's used to run machines that take a long flat belt such as a thrashing machine or a saw rig.
