I've found that if you build lore friendly armies (LOTS of Knoblars, with a few ogres to provide the punch) then you will find that the economy becomes less of a problem.
While not an economic powerhouse until late and not as good as most factions anyway, keep in mind the main ogre camp building give +income % on settlement buildings. By mid game if you have a few solid camps set up all those valuable trade buildings become even more valuable because of their flat income as well as the ogres meagre economy building becomes even better in it's price to performance ratio. Assuming you can work past the initial major threats you mentioned, I've found their income begins to skyrocket with the combination of camps + getting a lot of territory. I haven't gotten to test this now that the camp limit no longer exists with one of the final techs but if there's no cap on that percent increase, it might be insane.
That is what I was thinking during the whole starting bit. The %increase to non camp building income is the biggest part and was completely ignored. With all those camps you're getting almost 100% increase to building and likely will exceed 100% with techs. They take more time to ramp up but their economy is kinda nuts once you get going. This goes doubly when you take the dragon isles from Ku'gath. Those islands are so incredibly rich, and that alone can just about fund an empire once the camp buffs get rolling.
The Ogres are one of my favorite races and while I like playing them on the battlefield, the campaign gameplay is annoying at best. They should have regular settlements with camps being relegated to an invasion tool, providing buffs, bonuses, and access to global recruitment.
Yea I like Ogres alot but they need some DLC and iam sure they will get it. Nurgle and Kislev are weaker factions but not many others imho. Tho I think its more that some Factions are to strong rather then Ogres are to weak.
i think it`s one of CAs failures. Besides Chaos, all WH3 factions aren`t great. Cathay is somehow working, but Ogres, Nurggle, Kislev, kinda broken. Lots of mechanisms don`t work well in the game and though WH3 is more of a challange in the campaign, it`s less fun to play than WH2.
Please, how is wh3 harder than wh2? In my few games so far I have been able to do conquest twice or even three times as fast than in wh2. Battles were so far most done by my lords and heroes with the rest of the army chilling in the corner. Am I missing something?
I disagree with your assessment as I think it's overly harsh. However, you might want to consider using an overhaul mod like SFO to alleviate some of your gripes.

Greasus always gets greased by Grimgor when I want to befriend him when playing as Skrag. He simply don't stand a chance.

Hi! Thanks for the video about the ogres, just a quick question, what do younuse to remove the fog of war in the map?
