Talking a few minutes with my morning coffee to check this one . Godin is amazing great Guitars. They are made not far from here, and they also have a factory in the USA also. Mister Godin himself way back before, he was working with Fender company, but had a arguing on something I don't exactly recall what. But he decided to build his own guitars. In some of our Incursion Jam Videos, you will see a few Godin we used. Even our Channel Logo, it's a Godin Montreal Premiere I used to do the picture. Godin Guitars were low cost for the quality, but one year ago, prices went up. He got good notoriety now, so more expensive now lol. Godin went very experimental in their models, so, many models were made for 2 or 3 years, and stop doing them, and went from a model to another innovation. I know a guy working for Godin, and it's a great family from father to sons with great passion in what they are doing. Imagine, 3 years ago you could buy a brand new Session model, similar made of the Stratocaster, and a cost of $600 only. Unbelievable. Great video this was with your Godin greatvanzinni 👍
Thanks for coming by Chaos! Appreciate the compliment. USA factory, I did not know that. I owned a SD years back I regretted selling. Seafoam green. I also have a ??? Not sure, electric with the Roland Synth thing built in. Sad regarding prices all around right now. Hope your coming day is good, my friend.
@@greatvanzini yes they're having a assembly factory in New Hampshire. I think it's because it's a easier way to sell the guitars in the States having a ground place in USA.
Nice fingerstyle vanzinni! Love the non-cutaway archtops. Can't do the flatwounds though, too dull sounding to me. Much prefer roundwounds on my old Guild...I'm too old to worry about wearing out the frets! Those fine ratio tuners definitely an improvement over the ones on vintage guitars
Thank you so much, Joseph. There is something about the no cuts that I really like too. Flat- Only the low E bugs me a bit LOL. I keep thinking maybe if I get a lighter gauge low E. & I swear the low E's just go dead at a faster pace. But when recording i just can;t stand the scratchy itchy thing of rounds. If I am heavily amped I don;t care. Don't give up, I still have a couple of newer Guilds coming up. One with Flats, & one not.
Hello, excellent interpretation !! I bother you for a question: what is the difference in sound of the guitar you are playing (Godin 5th Ave KingPin) with the Godin 5th Avenue Cutaway Kingpin 5 avenue guitar that have 2 microphones? To play some jazz and blues the second microphone and the possibility of combining both makes sense? or it is not worth investing more money for the result. Thank you very much
Hi Bocha! Thanks for stopping by & thank you for the compliment. The cutaway will give you more access to the upper frets. 2 pickups gives you a lot more tone options. A lot of the old jazz guys would tell you there is a little better tone with NO cutaway. A single pick up was preferred with jazz guys back in the 50's & 60's. Modern jazz guys often prefer 2 pickups with a cutaway. I prefer ONE pickup. I am an old blues & rock guy & always used the bridge PU with lots of treble. When I have 2 pickups I always start off playing on the neck, then drift to combining the two, then end up alway going to the bridge with too much treble. If I had some self discipline I would have everything with 2 pickups & blend them. I like the no cutaway models because I am a big Charlie Christian fan. But as you can see from my other vids I have 2 pickup cutaways too. So to answer your question quickly. Unless you're playing mostly old style jazz standard type songs I would think you'd get more benefit from a single cutaway, 2 pick up guitar. Hope this helps.
@@greatvanzini Thank you very much for your response, it has been very kind. I tell you that I am a teacher in Engineering and I see that you have a great ability to transmit your experiences to all those interested. Based on your answer it is clear to me that the two microphones give more possibilities to play with sound. But I think that the 1 only microphone (the one from your demo) has a more natural sound, less metallic to say the least. I send you a big hug And thank you very much again for your time, Take care of yourself !!
Dear teacher, I bother you with one more query. The guitar sounds very natural, what is the amp you are using for the demo? You could also specify which are some of the best amp brands to use with this Godin guitar. Are you using any additional effects? Thank you in advance and a big hug.
Bocha, welcome back. You will laugh! For most of my videos I use a Boss EBand/ JS 10. I rarely play live but when I do it is for a solo gig. I play mostly standard jazzy type (lower volume) things. I still use the EBand but output it through a single 300 watt powered speaker (10 inch.) Old jazz players wanted a clean sound so often used solid state amps. They did not want that sound of tubes slightly distorting. More modern players want some of that over driven tube break up sound, so often use tube amps. If I were playing my old electric blues stuff live, it would be a simple Fender Champ x2 (15 watts) possibly with a line out to my Tech 21 Power Engine (60 watts.) As you can see,,, I am not normal, LOL. Sometimes for clean sound I use a Quilter Micro block. It is a Solid state amp in a foot pedal. 33 watts at 8 ohms. 45 (?) at 4 ohms. I output it to a inexpensive Fender 1 x 12 Cab (rated for 65.) Again not the norm. Most of the time I use only a little reverb. Any effects you hear for guitars on my videos is strictly through the EBand. It is basically a Boss GT 100 in a sound box, with all the effects. If I am doing a show & tell of a pedal, I use a clean model so we hear only the pedal. When I used to play live for rocking blues I used a AB box with a T Rex Soul mate on one side & a Carl Martin Quattro on the other. & at times many other multi effects. I like some of the multi's for ambient sounds. Often I don't care for the drives, so I use a separate drive. "in the mix" the ambient sounds are fine for live gigs. In the studio I am a bit more picky. SO,,, to make it shorter (LOL) I am probably not the best person to ask!!!
Love Godin guitars, I almost got the 5th Ave myself, in the end I got sprung on the Montreal Ltd Ed version because it had a lot of versatility and the desert green is awesome but I played one of these 5th Avenues first and its how I knew I was into their semi's
Montreal Ltd Ed I think, is a much higher end version. right? That should serve you well. Hey you got some nice stuff on your channel! That PRS,,, Wow!
@@greatvanzini thanks man, I enjoy the PRS, it's a lot of fun. Yeah I had to order the Montreal as it was not in store and took me some saving to pay for it but I have to say it's one of my favourite guitars now. I have a Godin SG Summit as well which is a solid body. It's a cross between a tele and LP but headstock heavy like a Gibson SG, so a strange combo that somehow works. I was lucky with that one though, as I got it right before the prices went up by 25% for some reason
Hey, Konjinto. 12 inch radius kills me in some cases. Yet this one for some reason seems to work fine for me. I have not figured that part of the equation out yet!!! LOL! I do love the no cutaways for some reason. Thanks for watching. The other thing I have not figured out is that this is my most watched video by far.

Funny F holes and too thick body. It's not a P90 if it says Godin on it. and that non adjustable bridge. I hate flat wound strings. Grump grump grump. Other than that it's a fine guitar and you are a great player. I'm just feeling grumpy today. I like the hidden vol knob but it is a shame no tone knob. Piezo pickup on your chair is working well ?
LOL! Intonation can be tricky on these for sure. It is so hard to record these as I don't play that loud so the mic can pick up the amp & the guitar. I love this style of guit but this one is not my fave. Thanks for dropping by. The sad news is I have 2 or 3 more of these for you to watch coming up!!!

@@greatvanzini Hey, I actually believe it'd add some natural sustain to the timber. Don't take my word for that though. Just an intuitive thought.
Beautiful guitar and quite affordable too.
It really is! I kind of dumped on it compared to the Washburn price wise, but yeah well within the affordable range.
Nice guitar work Greatvanzinni !
& Thank you for watching, George! Appreciate the kind words.
I personally love mine. I enjoy flatwound and round wound. Depends on my mood I guess. I too love the single coil P90.😎🎶🎵
Yeah, no arguments n tone for me. The P90 is a goody! I went flats & to me as a jazz box it plays & sounds great. Appreciate you coming by, Wayne.
@@justfunguitar1500 I had an SD back in the day. SLight Tele body but 3 SC P.U's & whammy. Beautiful Seafoam green. Alway regretted selling it.
@@greatvanzini wow that does sound nice, I think many of us regret selling guitars. For me its a Gibson LP Studio
I know this is old, but 'Aother one!" lol Beautiful guitar, the 16 inch raduis kills me and my small hands.
@@greatvanzini it's the mellow jazz sounds. They are mesmerizing
Cool guitars and cool music...what could be better??? :)
Thanks for watching, Dave! Life is good isn't it! Saw your Ba Bah Dah on your channel. How great was that. My kind of stuff.
Good music, playing...and guitar! Other than the built in pickup and controls , it looks like my '59 guild (floating Rowe DeArmond).
Thank you very much, DogPa! A 59!!! Wow! I have the new version (not to be compared) x-175 coming up. With a Rhythm Chief coming up. But it ain't no 59! I would love to see a vid on that baby!
love it
Thanks, Boyd. More to come in the way of jazz boxes. Love your Harmonica vids. You got the real taste & tone.
THANK YOU
VERY RELAXING
Thank you, Boyd. Appreciate you stopping by. I sure have enjoyed your blues vids. The harmonica was always a bit of a mystery to me.
@@greatvanzini COOL !
André Ceccarelli plays a Godin very well.
Very good talk
Thank you, Pablo. I appreciate you stopping by for the visit.
Cool Guitar
Thank you Janice. Appreciate you stopping by.
Get some flat wounds on that ax! I wish they made a thin model like my '61 Gibson ES-125t.
Hey, bref, thanks for dropping by. LOL. Yep, exactly what I did. It is a pretty good little player. I have others though that sound way better in the same price range. Have you looked at this thin line?

sort out that squeaky chair my freind.
That was about a little over 4 years ago. It got taken care of back when. Thanks for coming by.
Soothing I meant
I figured as much! Thanks again.
I think I would turn down the treble.
Indeed. I just can't get an old school jazz thing from the EBand. But,,, I think I can do better than this. Thanks for listening.
Your pronounciation is very good!... But you need a new chair! :-D
LOL. Yes indeed still looking for another chair. I did finally hit the spot with cleaner so at least for now it is far better. You have some wonderful tunes on your channel.
@@greatvanzini Thank you! I play just for the fun of it and I try not to limit myself to any style of music. There is good music in all styles. :-)
that's a chair with too much character!
You seem to be able to zone it out
It wasn't until I watched the vid that I would cringe. Finally hit spot with the spray so no more problem. LOL.
