- A civil jury found Bill Cosby liable for sexually assaulting Judy Huth when she was just 16 years old. Huth, who's now 64 years old, says Cosby took her to a game room at the Playboy Mansion. After she emerged from the bathroom, Huth testified that Cosby exposed himself and forced her to perform a sex act. The jury awarded Huth $500,000 in damages. Cosby's lawyers say it's still a victory for him because the jurors decided against punitive damages that could be an excess of $15 million.

The world was a lot different in the 70's. I grew up in same town as Judy; it was like Mayberry RFD; Andy Griffith TV show..At 15-18 yrs old, we were going to Hollywood night clubs to listen to classmates in Bands & Van Halen (from Pasadena-close by) at Gazzari's etc before they were discovered.

The playboy mansion was glamorized, I’m sure ANY teenaged girl would’ve wanted to hang out with a bunch of celebrities in a multi million dollar mansion. She is not to blame for a grown man touching her without her consent; the fault lies with him and him alone for making that decision, and on her parents for not parenting. A young teenager should not be expected to know everything or make perfect decision with clearly very little guidance from responsible adults.

Los Angeles has a Statute of Limitations for allegations. So now a woman can go back 47 years and make an allegation with no evidence and get paid? Something is deeply disturbing about how this system goes after men with money.
Something is deeply disturbing about how if a person makes a report /immediately/ against ANY abuser, even with evidence, it could take years for them to be held accountable. About how they then have the opportunity to repeat the offense as many times as they’d like. Even if they’re held accountable they might never serve time or have to pay a dime. We should not be worrying about men in power with money; maybe the single women in poverty with children who have developed PTSD from being abused, then neglected by the justice system. The underaged victims living with the pain of their adult abuser walking the streets after they reported them with mountains of evidence.
In some states there is no statute of limitations for minors who were assaulted or the statute of limitation starts after they first disclose as an adult.

This woman and her friend that was supposedly there, said she was assaulted after playing Donkey Kong in the game room at the Playboy Mansion in 1975. Donkey Kong didn't even come out until 1981. And furthermore, stop with the victim talk like women aren't responsible for the majority of child abuse cases in the US. That doesn't fit women's abuse narrative so I'm not surprised that's never brought up.

Being a victim of something so horrible is one of the worst feelings imaginable. She probably felt embarrassed, ashamed, and AFRAID of coming out against a man with so much power and money. Trauma follows people for years, and we should be praising her for having the courage to come out to the public at all- regardless of how long it took.

In California, the statute of limitations on a childhood sexual abuse cases has changed, if you believe you've been sexually abused, you can file a civil case no matter how old the case is, I think.

They were getting married and having babies as young teens during that time and the society was ok with it.
