I visited the catacombs in the 90s and it absolutely changed my life. That sounds strange, I know, but it led me to develop a sense of exploration and appreciation of history. These traits led me become the first in my family to attend university and eventually teach. I always tell anyone interested in understanding the world to do three things: Visit Rome, visit China and read The Story of Civilization by Will and Ethyl Durant.

I hadn't realised how obsessed I've become with your channels. It started as maybe a video per day while I got stuff done in the house. Then I realised that you have other channels that I could follow. Now - for context - I am a single girl who's just moved to poland in a pandemic. Obviously, I don't have many friends. Very quickly, I've started putting on your videos as soon as i step through the door. I am absolutely obsessed. Thank you.

Uff this brought me right back there. I have been to 2 school trips to Rome and they included a visit to one of the catacombs each. I think I have been to the one with the church and one other. I remembered I hated it there but I thought it was only being surrounded by death, I hated normal cemeteries at that age as well. But now I remember that the smell was...shocking. I tried to breathe as little as possible to not inhale the dust consisting of the bodies of the ones buried there. I remember other people running their fingers through the dust in the burial plots in the walls. I was horrified.

Even cheaper. The food changes radically in Italy too. EG Pizza in Northern Italy and Southern Italy are not even recognisable as the same thing. American pizza is actually the Scicilian type (ish).
