    This is a no brainier, throw your emergency fund in robinhood and let the interest pay the $5 monthly fee. Card is basically free. The cash back goes back to robinhood and gains that same 5% make your money work for you.

    • @psikogeek
      @psikogeek 6 месяцев назад +3

      Good point.
      $1000 in your fund should pay the $50 per year with the 5% return.

    • @dizzyg6862
      @dizzyg6862 6 месяцев назад +1

      They give you $1000 in no interest margin to invest. You could throw that in SGOV and pay annual fee.

    Hmmm is it worth it .... I have my Alliant Visa Signature, which is 2.5% no fee.
    I do have to keep 1k in the Checking account (which could technically go towards a 5% APY) .. but then that's taxed .....so...... when it comes out, we'll see.

    If you already have Robinhood gold, it’s pretty awesome, otherwise it’s not great with no bonus and a fee.

    The question (we don't know because it is talking about the future) is will it stay the same for years on end? It is good you do the basic, but great, match to compare another deal on the other card.
    Satire: Double you with the refection in the play button. I remember back early on just took a screenshot and used it as a thumbnail. Now you have gone stereo.
    Enjoy the week!

    Idk why you don’t want to call it an annual fee-it is an annual fee. I do think it’s worth it for some people as long as you take advantage of gold and use the card a lot. Good for people who don’t want to switch cards for every category. If they release it and there’s nothing else that comes out about it and they keep the 3% and 50 a year, I personally think it’s a solid card

      I am on the waiting list for the Robinhood Visa Gold. In other words, I don't have that Gold Visa, but am paying $5 a month for Gold membership. Even without the Visa card, I'm making money on interest and bonuses. The current interest on Gold accounts for cash funds is 4.5% which is the same as SoFi savings account. Robinhood gives you a 1% boost bonus for cash deposits. If I deposit $10,000 in cash, I get a 1% bonus or $100 added to my account which will be paid out in 24 months or $4.16 a month. Then if I put money into a Roth IRA, they will match 3%. If I put $4000 into a 2024 Roth IRA constribution, they will add 3% free which is $120 in free money added to the Roth IRA. They also give you $1000 in free margin. If you buy $1000 of SGOV on with that FREE margin it will return 5%+ annual yield. In one year, that is $50 free money made from interest free margin. That will pay for your annual Gold Visa fee. Without a Gold Visa the Gold membership is only available monthly at $5. If you get the Visa it is only available annually at $50 ($10 discount off the monthly fee). You still think the Gold membership fee is only about the Visa? LOL!

    there are ones that are special addition aperantly made with real gold. then the stainless steel. with the gold memebership gives you access the those " real" gold ones. but you can still get the stainless steel one without gold memebership.

  • @dimplypaprika7693

    I am a gold member. Used the $1000 of interest free margin to buy a bond fund earning a 5% yield with little to no downside. That is $50 which pays for the annual gold membership. Every benefit of gold after that is all profit, including this card. For now, it is a no-brainer. Now what happens when interest rates drop, nobody knows, but I feel like it is a good deal.

    • @jjman533
      @jjman533 2 дня назад +2

      No-brainer does not apply to everyone. You and I get it. Some people will never get their head out of the sand. They are just too fixated on that $5 a month or $50 annual with gold Visa fee. I've already made more than that just in interest and bonuses in Sept and the month isn't even over yet lol.

    The only 3%+ card I've ever had was SPG, which they could do, given the margin in their hotel stay. Marriott obviously didn't want to be so generous. This will get nerfed, from a company with a questionable reputation. Coastal Community Bank looks like they issued X1, now Robinhood Gold. Maybe next it will convert into X3 a crypto card for Kraken.
