thanks for the video. I'm rephrasing a question I posted earlier. If my screen is flickering would this be the only fix? I plugged another monitor to the external port and it works fine. is replacing the screen the only fix or do you have any other suggestions? If I need to replace the screen, do you have a good resource to buy Dell parts? Appreciate any suggestions.

My screen shows a lot of somewhat colored vertical lines with a small horizontal bar near the middle that will show some of the actual display. I can plug in an external monitor and it works fine. Is there any way to make sure this is in fact the screen and not the cable other than mounting a good screen or trying a good cable to see?

Do the lines or the image change when you pivot the screen? If it all stays the same, it is most likely the screen.

Thanks for getting back. If you mean simply tilting the screen using the hinges it makes no difference at all. Holding the laptop up at any angle is the same also. Do you mean using the landscape and portrait settings as I don't think this will change view like a smart phone?

The cable is located by the hinges so if the cable is damaged, opening and closing the screen will usually change the image. In your case, I think you just have a bad screen.

My n5110 is having some issues like the WiFi and Bluetooth options won't turn on despite airplane mode being off. Is it due to problems in wireless adapter? Please help.

It could be the drivers or the cards. Start with updating your BIOs and then reload the drivers. If that doesn't work you might have to replace the cards.

if you changed your screen, you may not have seen two wires soldered on the metallic parts of the screen. I hope you kept those, because they're the wires for the wifi card and you won't get any signal if they're not soldered back.this will save you any installation or buying another wifi card. personally I've never saw a dead wifi card even the old ones from the windows 95 era who are still working but too slow to be worth saving them.
