$64k and the Edition One pre-orders are already sold out???!! I don’t care how much anyone tries to justify the cost, 64k for a mid size truck is absolutely ridiculous. But as long as there are are buyers for them prices will keep sky rocketing. 5-8 years from now they’ll cost $100k…!
Recession ? Economic Crisis ? Inflation ? Where ? 🤔 Crazy times we living when a shitty midsize the size of a 10 year old fullsize commands that kind of MSRP. Nope, they can shove it up their collective colon.
The Jeep Gladiator has been at this price point for max spec versions for 3 years already and it sells well. This also still puts the mid-size truck at $10-$15K lower than the full-size AT4X. Is it expensive? Sure. But there's a ton of gear here that if you were to add after market would cost just as much if not more.
That's the reason mid sized trucks all but disappeared for a few years. The price difference wasn't large enough between them. It was easy to justify spending a little more and getting a full size. My local Toyota dealer has a new Toyota capstone on the lot for 70k.
You can't buy a full sized truck equipped like this for anywhere near $64k. Comparing a loaded mid-size (and frankly, the price you are quoting is for the At4X edition 1 - which has all kinds of extras beyond "loaded") to a lower trim full size is not a great comparison. That is like saying a 3 series costs the same as a 5 series BMW.
That's only for the first edition, which is sold out. The Denali will sell around the $50k-$55k. Still a ton. The Colorado will cost a bit less than the Canyon starting in the upper 20k range.
Yeah I’m torn. I love my Coyote F-150 but also love the simplicity of inline 4s, not to mention this engine makes more torque at much lower rpm than my truck.
Interesting with the lack of bumper step on the AT4. Looks like the bumper insert is the same as the Denali, even in dimension making it no worse for departure angle.
Not sure if this still applies, but I recall hearing on a TFL Truck video a couple of years back from one of the design engineers of the last gen Colorado ZR2, they removed the step bumper from the ZR2 trim because if you did hit it on something, it would be too easy to damage so they went with a regular bumper that could stand up to some abuse.
I’m not a fan of the interior styling on that AT4x. It’s too garish and I don’t think it stand the test of time. The side step on the Denali is way too low.
I ordered my Canyon Denali yesterday, now is the waiting for the 2024 truck to arrive at my local dealership? I test drove a 2023 AT, found it to be very responsive and a fun off road ride. I’m looking for a midsize pickup with comfortable interior. I put my order in for the 2024 GMC Canyon Denali. Looking forward to driving it.
Hey where is the 2023 canyon at4? I think I might be interested in that Canyon AT4 or AT4x. But, for the money you pay, I dont understand why there is not more grab handles. I also dont understand, for the money you pay on the Canyon, why they didn't design rear seat to completely fold down creating more rear seat luggage/gear room? That just doesnt make sense.
There are many comments about the price of the E1 being 64k If you took a $50k truck and added all the offroad goodies the E1 gives you from the factory it would exceed the 64k price tag. I mean the wheels and tires alone in the after market would be over 4k, then lockers, off road shocks, additional skid plates, bumpers, winch, etc and the labor to install it and it would not be covered under the factory warranty. I just had a buddy go thru this with his Bronco, he decided he could build his own Sasquatch, ended up spending more than what SAS cost and still did not get the front locker and trail turn assist so now he is regretting his decision to not spend the extra 6k. Also, have you built and priced a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon that would be comparably equipped to the E1 Canyon, its over 70k and has a horrible departure angle. So I don't think GM is to far off the mark at the 64k price tag. I am an E1 res holder and this is what I looked at when I made my reservation, the value of the complete package. If you are not going to go heavy offroading, stick with the Elevation or standard AT4 with the G80 rear and you will be good to go with a sub 50k price tag. IMO
Haters gonna hate. More nice trucks for those of us that get it. I'll be waiting to see pricing and reviews to decide between an at4 and denali myself I think if I got canyon. So many good vehicles lately and I can't pick em all lol.
Damn it's crazy that just 7 years ago. Those multimatic shocks were exclusive on the $70k Camaro Z28, race cars, and supercars Now you can get the multimatics on trucks for offroading.
The fact that gm tells me what configuration I have to buy and no options to choose cab and box configuration puts this out of contention! This company used to screw together anything you ordered but I guess those days are gone
It's like nobody in the comments paid attention to $64k being for the first edition. That is NOT the normal cost of the truck. You can't even buy a new first edition, anymore. You'll find them on the used market for FAR more than $64k, next spring.
They look so good I never noticed it and it is my most favourite part of my old Colorado the wife spotted it Dash mounted cup holders right next to the steering wheel It’s so good to have my coffee right there in your peripheral vision and not stuck down in the middle we’re you can’t see it
If GM is focusing hard on the offroad segment on these midsize trucks, why wouldn't they just bring back the Hummer H3 which previously shared the Gen1 chassis with the Colorado and Canyon?
the diesel was only lost because gm didn't update it since 2011. It was the exact same diesel engine as when it first came out. The 3.0 duramax makes 277hp and 460lbft of torque, up from the 2.8 duramax's 181hp and 363lbft, and the 2.8's torque was at higher rpms. The engine was old and crappy and paired with a 6 speed. If that engine saw ANY upgrades and it saw the 8 or 10 speed it would still be very relevant. That engine could of easily matched the 2.7 turbo in torque if they did anything with it
. This actually looks like a real truck. I hated the way the Colorado Looked a few years ago. It was ugly. I But I like this truck. I just hope it's not cheap aluminum. I hope it has an actual real steel body
This is the size of a full size truck 20 years ago. Why do these off-road versions of these trucks get all the attention? I can't imagine these are the best selling models of these trucks. I would love just a base work truck with reliability and ease of use like what trucks used to be.
64K and that is just the beginning. It probably requires premium fuel as well. No fuel figures out yet, but it is not going to be a sipper. Glug Glug Glug.
While it’s a beautiful truck, it’s not worth 64K. The white portion of the tri colored interior is a huge huge mistake. Great detailed review on f the truck in general. I can’t say the same for what was approved and signed off on at GMC regarding various aspects of the redesign and those forgotten. Manual opening for the rear window……..nope.
@@DesmoLocke I would think the Z71 would have it. The ZR2 likely would as well considering it's gonna be $$$, but they might not for "big bad off-road truck" reasons.
Annoying that there's no multipro tailgate on this. These things have gotten so high... Alex is over 6' tall and he cant even reach the floor of the bed from the side, he can barely reach past the outlet plugs from the rear. Means you'll have to be jumping into the bed every time you wanna access something, which would be made way easier with a real step, not just a corner bumper step.
It's really irritating that GM has eliminated the long bed versions of their midsize trucks. I can't stand these tiny beds that can barely hold any cargo. I shouldn't have to buy a full size truck just to get a decent sized bed.
$64,000.00 for a Truck? A MID-SIZED Truck. Hmmm.... It looks real nice. Seems to have nice Option Packages. However what will its Reliability and Durability be over 5 years? How about 3 years?
