Brother Steve! As I've said many a time; Being cheap doesn't deserve its bad reputation, it has gotten over the decades of hate, it has received.
In many situations, it's better for your mental, physical, and emotional health than splurging a few too many times, on things we didn't really need, save & go to the Pub 😁

Careful putting that much IPA on a phone screen, I have had IPA leak into the phone screen and get between the diffusion layers of the back light. Even after it had dried out when displaying white you could see a dark cloud/stain.

@@HL09 No issue with using a cloth damp with IPA to wipe your phone screen down but if its pooling on the surface there is a chance it can leak into the phone either via the ear piece speaker or microphones.

@@Leonvolt28 I already tried a friends cable and charger. Same issue persists. Either i damaged something while replacing the battery or the phone does not really like the new battery. The battery percentage is off at lower levels (sometimes the phone turned off while displaying 12% left) which might be a hint towards the latter option.
I still use the phone every day and am fine with it i just avoid dash charging.

You REALLY should heat the phone before trying to get the back off.
I still miss my OnePlus 7 Pro with the fancy popup camera.
3:58 I use Zeiss lens wipes for that, they're great for cleaning lenses, glasses, phones, etc, I presume you used a LOCA protector?

I was cringing while watching you get that screen open, It would have been a lot easier if you had put some heat around the edges and softened up the glue, I’m not teaching you how to suck eggs by the way I speak from experience……….of cracking loads of screens doing exactly the same thing 😂 luckily I was replacing them anyway so it didn’t matter.

Fresh new old you mean... All batteries you buy have almost the same manufacturer date as the phone has. That is why it is useless to change the battery in your old phone.
I did it in my S9+ and the battery was from 2019 and my "new" battery was from 2020. After charging the phone the battery lasted 5 minutes longer than the old battery.
And yes, it was a Samsung original battery i installed.

Don't buy used batteries, buy high quality aftermarket from a trusted retailer. I've tried a few used batteries before and all of them were dead on arrival. The aftermarket ones work fine just be careful where you buy it from, lots of low quality batteries on the market, sometimes it's your only choice though.
