Great clip... and though my two are quite outgoing... Airedales by nature are aloof and reserved with unfamiliar people... My two by the way are numbers 8 and 9 in a long history of Airedales in our family.

In WWI (and again in WWII)they were widely used as guard dogs, messenger dogs and patrol dogs... There is a memorial to their 'service,' in Scotland... They truly are brilliant family dogs.

One of my Airedales hated strangers and the other loved everyone. They were both reared the same but just had different personalities.

I'm on my 7th Airedale. All mine are aloof towards strangers and they were properly socialized. They do warm up but it takes a while. My scotties on the other hand don't tend to warm up to anybody except the owners and additionally they pick one member of the family to be their bestie.😅
