    I can’t believe the station is finally open to trains. This is truly an exciting day.

    No trains in the video, only the buses. I want to see the trains! And lots of steps, no ramps and a lift blocked off with tape. Looks like they don't give a shit for the disabled.

    Nothing central about it. I may as well walk to Lanyon and avoid having to stop at botanic and city hospital. Doubt I'll ever see the inside of this station because it's not really of any use to me or my elderly mother. I'd rather drive to Dublin than use the over priced over packed enterprise again. Translink really don't have a clue do they.

      @TheDanderer  3 месяца назад +2

      I went to book the enterprise recently and decided to drive as well. Ridiculous price

      @@TheDandererthanks for the reply. I've considered it a few times at the thought it would be nice to just sit and arrive at my destination but any time I've looked at it for me and the family I've just thought no chance I'll just fill the car up and drive. The road from Belfast to Dublin isn't that bad anymore and it's quicker for me too especially as I need to get a train to get to Belfast to get the enterprise anyway.

    It's close to where Great Victoria Street station left you, but further away enough to be pretty annoying, with an extra arse of a road to cross. They should build a walkover above that road.

    • @lulabelle82
      @lulabelle82 3 месяца назад +2

      Agreed nothing central about it. I was surprised how far up the road it actually is.

      Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if they were to build a light rail system like the Luas in Belfast to link up with the city centre?

    • @howardgilpin8818
      @howardgilpin8818 3 месяца назад

      Agree that it's less central than Gt. Victoria Street Station was.
      I guess when they sort out roadworks it will be easier to get to city centre.

    Seems like a waste of money to build such a massive station with 8 platforms in a station with only FIVE services and no future railway expansion that. I'm aware of
    Also it isn't really practically any bigger than Connolly or heuston stations, it's just more speed out
    I'm pretty sure Belfast wanted to have a "grand Central Station" but doesn't actually care about railways, this is evident in how not grand the station is

  • @nothingbutwest6372

    And not a single ounce of the Irish language on any of the station. Such a disgrace

      If you are so obsessed with the Irish language then why are writing in English ? Do you think all the German, Dutch, Spanish etc tourists would be able to read signs written in Irish ? Stop trying to bring politics into something which isn't remotely political.

      @@derekferguson2328 Language is political, especially when it comes to the Irish language. I'm using english to write my comment because the majority of RUclips users watch videos in English and the content of the video is in English.
      As is in the north of Wales, parts of Scotland, and south of Ireland, the signs have the native tongue and English on them. It's pure ignorance to not have the same in Belfast
