Love comes in many forms and not everyone can express it the same way. It's ok to give gifts as a form of appreciation and love. It's also fine not to and to do it in a different way. It really is ok.
Zack! I love your story! My best friend is a c3/c4 incomplete and he can walk and move about as much as you. About 6 months ago he started transfering, 2 or 3 times a week, to his chair in the morning using a walker and about 2 or 3 small steps, his caregiver helps him stand and is a spot from the front. He had a lot of success strengthening his lower body doing this, that now he does it every morning!
I have a great deal of respect for you. I lost my right leg to a VC rocket in 1968. Surgery in Nam and Japan followed by 6 months of rehab to get into a prosthesis. Had to stop using it because of pain issues. I feel blessed to have been able to use crutches for over 20 years before moving to power wheelchair full time. I am impressed by your attitude. You remind of two people I knew over the years. One was young man about 20 years old who was in an Iron lung. I worked with him at Children's Hospital till his lung and equipment could be replaced. A drunk driver went through a wall in his house. Is attitude was happy and joyful anytime I saw him. He lifted the spirits of everyone around. The other was a man on ortho ward at the Army Hospital. When I was admitted he was in his bed. His leg was off about 8 inches below his knee. His leg was drawn up and his knee was locked. He had a lousy attitude, he wouldn't interact with anyone and refused physical therapy. When I was discharged 6 months later , he was still laying in his bed in the same position still not talking to anyone. What I want to say is I think you are a very special young man who is an inspiration to many. Good luck to you and your girlfriend. Looks like she is a good cook too.
My ex was a paraplegic. People thought I was crazy and weird for being with him. He was just like every other person out there but as we all do we have our differences. He taught me so much while we were together. There’s no boundaries to love
BREE IS SO AMAZING 😭😭😭😭😭. Seriously I’m so happy for you. And this video is so cool! It’s so interesting to see what it’s like! I know it must be extremely frustrating for both sometimes, but you’re both amazing for all you do. I’m so happy you both exist!
Hey Zach, great video. also, a hoyer lift is amazing. We have a couple for my sister. One is manual and the other is attached to the ceiling in her bedroom and is electric, to get her in and out of bed. I'm not sure how much that one costs but i can tell you that you and your girlfriend would be much happier with the electric one that's attached to the ceiling. Even if you're in an appartment your landlord should have no problem with you getting that installed because of your needs. You just need to make it known that when you move out you will have it uninstalled and the ceiling plaster patched and repainted which is super easy and cheap to do. I hope someone here will start a go fund me for this for you. I can tell you that my mom lifted my sister several times a day for 30 years until she got the hoyer lift and my mom's back, knees and shoulders are all damaged with the years of lifting her. I can tell your girlfriend is very strong, but years and years of that lifting is hard on the body. It's so much different than lifting weights. which I think people don't understand. But my mom has had several surgeries now to repair damage she's done to her body over the years from the lifing. A few on her knees and she needs one on her shoulder now. But I hope someone sees this and creates a go fund me for you. this is something that you will always have for many years. They are very well built and will last a lifetime. I can't do a go fund me because of my financial situation or I definitely would. But if someone does I'm more than happy to post a video on my channel to make people aware of the go fund me after it's started. I don't have a ton of subscribers but i have around 17,000 right now. So that's something at least. I think we could raise the funds for it. I'm sure people would donate.
You guys are a killer team!!! :)I just love and appreciate how your videos are so real, down to earth, funny, and informative! I had a question...do your spasms bother you? For some people the rain bothers them. Was it because of the rain your arms were so stiff? What do you do to help your spasms? You guys are truly great!:)
Thank you. Yes they are difficult to deal with at times, but I would rather have them than not at all. Cold weather does cause my body to spasm more, but I have them either way. THC and CBD together really help relax my spasms

Another great video, Zack and Bri.🤗 I adore both of you and the content of your videos.👍 I’m curious... have you and/or your doctors ever considered Baclofen (oral or pump) for your muscle spasms?🤔 It’s helped my husbands spasms. I don’t know exactly what kind of Hoyer lift you guys are saving up for, but I found one at a thrift store for $100. It is a pretty simple one that you pump by hand, but it came with a couple slings and has been working well for the last several months. I know you guys may be going for a fancier one, but it might be nice to look around for a second/backup that is a little cheaper. You can travel with it too. :)
Bree Fregeau my husband use a wheelchair too and when I’m at home I make his stretches. I start with his ankles. Then I do the same movement but this time rotating the leg to the right and to the left. I usually do 10 for each side. And then I move on to the next leg. When I finish with both legs I bring his knees to his chest and hold them for a while. Finally, cross both legs together in the shape of chicken wing and push down slowly. Everything is before he gets up for the toilet, so make sure he is lay down on his back. If you like we can make a video and I’ll send to you :)

No offense , but having someone who requires a lot of your time and depends on you for everything is a huge commitment. I wouldnt mind that myself . But that says/speaks a lot of his girlfriend positively speaking.
such a great couple. I think its great relationship with the both of you. and I agree to a point with the comments about your gf is awesome for what she does. but you are as well for what you have to deal with everyday. you both belong with each other. seem so happy. life is what you make of it. and you both make it happen. much love from Canada! xo
I'm curious if they are still together. I've been a quad for almost 30 years and know that it can be a challenge for couples to stay together if one has needs like us.
I have a hard time seeing how much praise this girl gets. She loves him ...she chooses to be with him ...she should help him. It's kind of same as telling a parent they're awesome for taking care of their kids. It's just what you do when you love someone. I feel like the people who commented those things see her as some kind of Saint because for them it would be a deal breaker.
And here I am, getting Gastro, vomiting for 20 hours every 30 minutes, finally crawling out of my room for ice chips at 4 am to my husband laying on the couch and watching tv, "Oh, you're alive?" Its nice to see videos like this and know that there are people out there that are worth a damn.
Hey Zach, I have a question for you..When you started to date Bre, did she ask you a lot about your injury? Did she want to understand everything? And did she get involved with your family? Did she ask them questions, want to talk with them about things related to your care?
Hi, Bree here! I totally asked him questions. That's what was one of the things I admired most about him, he was very open to answering my questions and wanted me to be informed. I really wanted to understand his situation, I think anyone would be curious. And I can only say amazing things about the Collie family! I love them and they have been nothing but so helpful in this new step.
Bree Fregeau Thanks so much for your reply. My son who has a C2 SCI is in a relationship with a young lady and I’m hoping to see more involvement with her. She seems very nice, he loves her..but as a mom i would love to see a bit more from her, if that makes sense?. You are both so amazing, i love that you are informing others through this outlet~ Well done guys!

Awesome to see how much he appreciates her help ...
Where is the link to the go fund me?
Your so lucky to have a loving and caring person like bre 😘😘.
No offense , but having someone who requires a lot of your time and depends on you for everything is a huge commitment. I wouldnt mind that myself . But that says/speaks a lot of his girlfriend positively speaking.
such a great couple. I think its great relationship with the both of you. and I agree to a point with the comments about your gf is awesome for what she does. but you are as well for what you have to deal with everyday. you both belong with each other. seem so happy. life is what you make of it. and you both make it happen. much love from Canada! xo
Just marry her shes kind and amaxing.
he did, for a while
She is amazing. A keeper. So happy for you both
What!!!! You can cook bacon in a air fryer???!!! Holy moly!! My life is changing, i have a air fryer and never thought!!
I love the airfryer! I have severe stomach problems and sometimes I can still enjoy some fries and stuff this way!
Hey zack! I just watched the video where you are walking! Your moving your right foot!!! Do you still practice walking? :)
I'm curious if they are still together. I've been a quad for almost 30 years and know that it can be a challenge for couples to stay together if one has needs like us.
no there is a vide about it
I have a hard time seeing how much praise this girl gets.
This is awesome. So happy for you! Hope you’re well 😁
