In terms of chassis strength and sturdiness, it would be one of the best for sure. Preve comes very close but its a bigger car. The only thing I hated about the Savvy was the interior. Too plasticky. And those yellow dials seemed like duck out of water. Despite the engine and transmission, I found driving the AMT quite a breeze. A fiancée of mine owned one so I enjoyed the ride much. The compact size meant it was a breeze in the city.
Yep, city driving was its forte, and proved to be popular for urbanites in Bkk too, seen many still plying the roads there, and even one in Taiwan. There's a video of the latter in here somewhere 😃 Some intel from Wiki: The Savvy has received two known "Car of the Year" awards from two ASEAN countries, including the Cars, Bikes & Trucks's "New Straits Times/AmBank Group 2006 Car of the Year" Award in the Supermini category, and the "Best City Car" award at the 6th Indonesian Car of the Year 2007 awards. Currently it's planned for Dec 26th 2020 to Jan 9th 2021, but it all depends on the state of the C-19 virus at the time, if 14-day quarantines are still in effect for both/either country, we may postpone it till later in 2021 🙏🏽😊
Chris. about savvy you should join Savvy Owners Club fb group. you will find so many Savvy specialist there in Malaysia, savvy certified foreman nowadays is a lot out there neither North, South or Central Malaysia. one day you will got your Savvy in prestine conditions! for sure! in 2018 i also bought a 2010 Savvy AMT, right now only maintained by Savvy Specialists in Sungai Petani. not other common workshop that ' ini rosak kot, ini kaput kot. tapi masalah tak selesai, duit habis'. my AMT works well until today, air conditioning is still works well in factory parts and conditions 😂 no dashboard or plastic parts were shaking or crack for now. i think its because the TUV certified quality 😂😂😂
How about a Tiara for next one? Hehe I got overtaken by one while driving on the highway and I was just mindblown at how fast that thing was P.S. that French accent tho I died laughing HAHAHHAHA
This is the very definition of "as is, where is". I've been seeing the car every time I visit Ken's wkshop, and finally asked him what's the story. Asked Ken to make an offer to the owner for me, he agreed this morning and that was that 😁
I am a here in Malaysia for my studies but as a transport is very important so I want to buy a car and got very confused with wira and savvy!! Can any one help me with this two cz I am not fimiliar with any of this machines😅
To be honest, I actually dislike the Savvy mostly because it's...French... Maybe it's because I'm biased, I have friends with the modern French cars (Peugeots though), and all I hear is reliability nightmares from them. Maybe this video would change my mind? Looking at the positives though. I actually liked the looks of this car when I was a kid. Also, it is claimed to get a fuel efficiency of up to 24km/l if I'm not mistaken? (I don't think even the current Peroduas could achieve that). Also having the Saga BLM/FLX being derived from the Savvy. Oh, at least this one is a manual lol. On a sidenote, its successor, the Iriz, turned out to be one of my personal favourites.
glad it wasn't the AMT one haha, that one is dreadful. But speaking of Renault engine, part should still be still pretty common and easy to find since in Romania, the Dacia still use the same engine today
Another great little car killed by the famous Proton Engineering (or the lack of it). Considering it's base off the famous Renault Twingo that sold like hot cakes in Europe. Hope to see this car fix up and has its famous gremlins thrown out.

Currently it's planned for Dec 26th 2020 to Jan 9th 2021, but it all depends on the state of the C-19 virus at the time, if 14-day quarantines are still in effect for both/either country, we may postpone it till later in 2021 🙏🏽😊
@@ChrisWeevilGarage thanks for the quick reply. Really love your content and your passion for older cars that are overlooked by people these days.
@@CJVWOfficial most welcome! Thanks for being here 🙏🏽👍🏾😃
Chris. about savvy you should join Savvy Owners Club fb group. you will find so many Savvy specialist there in Malaysia, savvy certified foreman nowadays is a lot out there neither North, South or Central Malaysia. one day you will got your Savvy in prestine conditions! for sure!
in 2018 i also bought a 2010 Savvy AMT, right now only maintained by Savvy Specialists in Sungai Petani. not other common workshop that ' ini rosak kot, ini kaput kot. tapi masalah tak selesai, duit habis'. my AMT works well until today, air conditioning is still works well in factory parts and conditions 😂
no dashboard or plastic parts were shaking or crack for now. i think its because the TUV certified quality 😂😂😂
Thanks for the great feedback Khairul!! I'll check it out for sure, cheers!!👍🏾🙏🏽😃
How about a Tiara for next one? Hehe
I got overtaken by one while driving on the highway and I was just mindblown at how fast that thing was
P.S. that French accent tho I died laughing HAHAHHAHA
Hahahaha!! Sorry sorry, couldnt resist🤭🤭🤭🙏🏽👍🏾😁

"I'm just gonna keep it stock..." famous last words 😂😂😂🙏🏽👍🏾

You sold one car and bought two cars, sold two cars and buy another four cars... That is not how you “thin the herds” bro, thats how you multiply😂
Oh shut up. Hahahaha!!😂😂😂
Came for the savvy, stayed for the French accent
Oui!! Hahahaha!! 😂🙏🏽👍🏾
I hope you can make this savvy the best savvy in the world, just like car throttle's mx5 Phil :D
Tbh....that's not bad at all , clean looks just needs a repaint. Too bad my parents forbid me to get a manual😂😭
Aww, u can secretly buy this from me when I'm done bud 😉😉😉😁
whats the update of this content? I have the same like this but its AMT, color blue.
Be patient, all in good time 😊
That car I remember it's almost the same size as myvi and I still remember the ads was kinda funny but disgusting 😂😂😂
Looks smaller than a Myvi and Iriz, it's close to Axia size actually, hahaha!!😁😁😁
I rate that French Accent a 10/10 😂
Hahaha!! Thanks!!🙏🏽👍🏾😁
One good little car. Sad it is not appreciated by market.
Right? I was too. Really looking forward to bring this one back to life!!😃🙏🏽👍🏾
@@ChrisWeevilGarage ya me too. Looking forward your next update.
@@HotRod16 thanks bud, stay tuned!!🙏🏽👍🏾😃
Another new set of tyres coming up.
That's a given, the ones on the car are only from 2015, but the car has been sitting idle on them for way too long 😊
Nice find there.. I just bought kelisa auto.. If not.. Can ask to buy this from u
Still can, it's good to have a manual in the garage 👍🏾😁
Except for some mould, the interior looks fantastic! BTW, do you speak French? You sounded like one!
French no, French accent, a bit. Hahaha!! Yeah, mould and cobwebs was to be expected, I'm just glad rats didn't eat parts of the car 🙏🏽😁
If u don't mind sharing, how did u find or know this state of car is for sell ? The seller don't give it even a wash though 😅
This is the very definition of "as is, where is". I've been seeing the car every time I visit Ken's wkshop, and finally asked him what's the story. Asked Ken to make an offer to the owner for me, he agreed this morning and that was that 😁
Ahh I see that is how it was. Tq bro for sharing 😬
I am a here in Malaysia for my studies but as a transport is very important so I want to buy a car and got very confused with wira and savvy!!
Can any one help me with this two cz I am not fimiliar with any of this machines😅

@@ChrisWeevilGarageFor safety reasons, make sure all the fuel hose and brake hose are replaced as the car haven't been use for awhile.

@@ChrisWeevilGarage Exactly... Thats a good buy for sure... Especially after washing and it looks good as new..
Awesome😍
Thanks bud!!🙏🏽👍🏾😀
Hv u found a tiara?
Nope, and I don't intend to 🤭
Is Savvy's manual trans made by Renault?
I think so yes, iirc 😁
Haha I like your french accent.
🤭🤭🤭 thanks bud, hahaha!!🙏🏽😁
Kereta kebal😂😂😂
Hahahaha!! Complements my Brickwagon 😁👍🏾🙏🏽
Thanks for ur feedback, well, I've always liked this car, I recall having a very stuff body and it handled well, let's see if that's still true!!🤞🏾😉👍🏾
I can vouch for its fuel consumption. Superb. NVH so-so at high speed though
glad it wasn't the AMT one haha, that one is dreadful. But speaking of Renault engine, part should still be still pretty common and easy to find since in Romania, the Dacia still use the same engine today
That's exactly what I'm hoping, but also that I don't have to go to Romania to find parts la, hahaha!!😁😁😁🤞🏾🙏🏽👍🏾
i buy my savvy in 2005 when i working in ssm..in 2015 i buy red axia se automatic when i am transfer to miti..
Nice!! Hope the Savvy served u well 🙏🏽👍🏾😀

Another great little car killed by the famous Proton Engineering (or the lack of it). Considering it's base off the famous Renault Twingo that sold like hot cakes in Europe. Hope to see this car fix up and has its famous gremlins thrown out.
Great little car indeed!! I remember it handling very well due to the stiffness of its chassis. Really looking forward to brining this one back to life, stay tuned!!🙏🏽👍🏾😀
I recommend go to JanggutSpeedWorks Garage for full restore proton savvy Amt/Manual...
Thank you for the recommendation bro, much appreciated 🙏🏽👍🏾😃

Gulf livery?
Hmmmmmm!!!😀
Certifiable? No comments on that 🤦🏽♂️ Well I guess, we do the things that makes us happy, and indeed the craziest often makes the greatest joys in the end 😂
Never had the chance to drive an AMT, what it feels like act?
Like shit. Sorry did that come out loud? 😂😂😂
@@ChrisWeevilGarage Roger that. Out of my box to test cars later on 😆
Yeah, driving the AMT to put it nicely, forgettable. Only once drove a Savvy and it had to be the AMT (because I had to help drive it back from somewhere with a friend).
Not an enjoyable experience. Always 'fighting' against the AMT's drivability, taking away the fun of the Savvy's dynamic chassis potential.
@@zaidismail4068 correct, and well put!! Agreed, if this car had an AMT, I wouldn't even have looked at it, hahaha!!😁🤭
Wow Chris ... You're a CERTIFIABLE pre-loved car enthusiast! I just hope the Savvy hadn't been gobbled up by a monster. lol

I remember this ad!! Thanks for the link bud, hahahaha!!🙏🏽👍🏾😁
woh i'm curious how u find the owner of this Savvy actually...
abandoned for 4 years behind the alley or actually it's been towed to there?
hopefully there's no exposed or broken wiring bitten by rats as i saw you pulling rubbish out from engine bay...
It's the same uncle who owns that lovely red, mint condition Saga Iswara hatchback, which I reviewed a while back, remember the car? You'll see him briefly in the next video!!😀😀😀
