It's funny how so many reviewers like the sky+ more than the edge+, but the supershoes from other brands which they like even more, like the endorphin pro 3 or the vaporfly 2, follow the recipe of the edge+, meaning that the carbon plate is sitting lower in the forefoot. From a logical point of view, the edge+ should have felt better than the sky since all the other supershoes that you like, are more like the edge than the sky. Curious why this happens.
Just completed my first long (ish) run with the Edge+ today and compared to the original Sky it definitely felt more natural to my stride/gait and a lot less “slappy”. I didn’t really enjoy the Sky at all so sidelined it after not many miles but maybe should go back to it to compare again!
would you say the edge+ or sky+ is closer to the original sky in terms of feel and performance? i ask as i have pb'd in the original sky at 5k and 10k.
I honestly don’t see the wear issues that are mentioned in this channel with the ASICS shoes, my original sky has 205km in it and you wouldn’t even be able to tell, used over a mix of gravel, roads and all sorts, my sky plus also have no wear with 50km on them, I think the big thing must be foot strike I guess
It's very much down to foot strike, and not even as simple as it happens to all heel-strikers, since it only really happens on one side for me (Nick)! Good you don't get it though. I also used the Edge+ on some gravelly trails and was impressed how the rubber held up
I did go with the EDGE+ to suit how I run and it has been really enjoyable. They seem to give back more than I expect too, I got a big PB at the ASICS 10K and I was taking it easier for the heat! I would like to do full marathon in them ….but I bought a pair of white Pro 3s for my autumn marathon. They are really rad.
Hey! Do you think the Edge+ is more suited for a 10k than the Pro 3? I'm in doubt between them! I'm aiming for a 10k race. Looking forward to your opinion!
@@hiddetenberg893 I think so - I’ve got the Endorphin Pro 3 now too and it’s been an excellent half and marathon shoe but I think the EDGE+ is going to be a better choice for 10k, it feels maybe a bit more aggressive than the feel from the Pro 3. Both are great choices but if you’re mainly going to be racing shorter and you’ve got a quick turnover to suit then for sure the EDGE+
Stop focusing on stride vs cadence; don't drink the Kool-Aid. I think stride/cadence are proxies for how your foot interacts with the ground. If you bounce, you're more likely to prefer squishy shoes. If you exert strong, longitudinal force, you're more likely to prefer a firmer, snappier shoe. I'm more the latter. I have friends who love the NB Rebel2 and Nikes, for example, but I can't stand them. I prefer a foams like the Hyperion Tempo or Novablast.

consumer’s mind. they dont care, they only care about who is promoting or using it.

Has the edge+ a stable heelcounter ? Most of the carbon shoes has flexible heelcounters which are not suitable for me.
Love my ASICS metaspeed edge+ shows. Haven’t tried the others you mentioned but you arn’t going to go far wrong if you buy these
So annoying that they couldn't extend the rubber all the way to the heel... For the sake of a few grams.
Because you’re not supposed to land on your heels anyways lmao. My shoes all look new at the heels

I'd say the Sky+ myself (Nick)

The comments on the Nike Zoom Fly 5 first look are currently off. By design?
Oh! No that’s a mistake, will turn on, thanks for flagging

@@vincewarne228 Thanks for your quick opinion! I'll probably buy the Edge+ then haha, thanks!
@@vincewarne228 how soft is the Edge Plus compared to the Pro 3?
@@Fozzee.1970 a bit firmer ride, more direct.
When will Asics release this shoe again? It's currently unavailable...I'm guessing they sold out.
Saucony leading the way at the moment.. Ride / Tempus / speed / Pro..
So its needs to be cheaper then to be worth picking up
Which do you think is better for a 10K?
Amazing CAT😺
Haha thanks

I think Sky+ is always worth it than edge+
Great review but PLEASE look at the CAMERA when you are recording! You might as well be talking to someone standing behind my left shoulder.
