- I stumbled across a young lady on here named Poe who made a video on why she keeps making videos even though she doesn't get views. She made some good points. My video is why youtube is great from a different perspective and how it has helped me the past few years. Hopefully it helps someone else. After all, that is why we are here...to love and help one another.

I think people also forget that RUclips was intended to be a creative outlet. There was no monetary incentive back in the day. It was just about being creative, informative, and connecting with like-minded people.

True because this is my first time here.
Especially in light of YT being found out to train their AI on YT videos. And this will come off as hating on her success, but that is not it at all.
It would be irresponsible on YT's part to take a channel that was getting great organic growth over the years, and flooding it with viewers and subscribers. And they may not watch their videos that aren't related to their viral video.
And the algorithm demotes channels with inactive subscribers. Having a viral video about YT has messed up so many growing channels.
There's a reason why the most successful channels almost never make a video about YT. It's a short term boost for YT, but it harms years of hard work and progress.

It really is! I’ve heard some bigger creators say that it’s not, but that doesn’t even make sense.
@@busybeingcryssi They forget that if you're not consistent enough for your audience, they will eventually unsubscribe/unfollow, forget about you, only check up every few months and then move on. Even the RUclipsrs who post once a month or once every 3-6 months may be able to keep that up for a couple years, but eventually it'll fall down. You see lots of RUclipsrs who were super popular (1M+ followers/subscribers back when that amount was huge and meant something) from 2010-2019 are now nobodies and their videos will get a small fraction of views like they used to get.

I started my digital footprint because I wanted to leave a legacy for my family. The thought of my great grandkids learning from my content when I'm not around excites me . I think small youtubers are really becoming stressed out due to the success of others and that sometimes we forgot why we started our channel at the 1st place. Lets always revisit the whys and dont let other peoples success really affect us, we will experience that success someday too, not only in youtube. 😊

This is so real. My students found my RUclips page and I stopped posting because they wouldn’t leave me alone about it. I often think about where my channel would be if I never stopped. 😭 This video will be my motivation to get back at it.

I’ve been on RUclips for 16 years too. It was never about money for me, it still isn’t. I love to create. I studied digital arts/photography/videography. When I used to post, hardly anyone watched, so I stopped sharing. I’ve even removed some of my videos because some had 10 or 20 views. I just keep my videos to myself and my sanity, save myself the time and energy it takes to edit, render, and upload. I have tons of clips on iCloud of all the places I’ve traveled, the fine resorts, restaurants, and spa days, times at the opera, the ballet, Miami Open, concerts. I just scroll through the cloud when I want to relive those moments.
Girl. I get like 9 views per video lol. But I keep posting because like you, it’s my creative outlet. I really enjoy it! I do vlogs and love filming. If I get monetized one day then hallelujah! But if not, yall still gon get these videos haha 🤣

This is so true. Ppl give up but your audience is waiting . When think about many ppl have said my story helps them it brings me joy. Between that and leaving footage behind for my kids I’m hooked. I wish the best to everyone on their content creation journey.
I'm starting to understand that no matter how big or small of an audience, there is going to be people that resonate with your content. Your story is my story. That is why starting a youtube channel is still a "vision" on my vision board from 2022. It is content like yours that help inspire people to stop overthinking and just start.

I’m in my 30’s and started a month ago 😂😂, had been putting it off for over a decade. And honestly I wish I had started sooner. Only get a couple views atm but the journey of it is so enjoyable. I love the art of creating. There’s a reason they say ‘just start’ because it’s surprising how everything just starts to flow and you get the hang of it. I’m focused on developing my craft and improving each time.

I love your theory of having it for yourself as a memory. It is a video diary, and it will always be there for you to look back on your memories and for your family to look back on it. You would definitely be surprised to see how much people who do RUclips automation are using some other online services to helps them grow their channel (I am also using a bit of Famester). Even the most popular creators out there are using similar services, so I also decided to do it on my own... I thought why not, and honestly I doubt I would be successful without it.

As a single black woman, I won't be a direct ancestor to anyone in this life. After my little nieces and nephews and their future children are gone. No one will remember me if I don't leave a trail of memoirs and creative works behind.

Hi Desiree, I just bumped into your video while mindless scrolling this morning. Wow there's so much I'd like to say but this would become a book.... Needless to say, I can relate to all that you've said. I've just recently started three channels, ((neglecting two other that I started over the last two years so now a total of five😅)) one of which is a daily diary and...the topic for this morning is Consistency. This could be a long message, anyway don't look back and dwell on the "What Ifs" too much. As an older person, I tend to do that sometimes. I too am documenting my life on RUclips. I sat on the sidelines for years, and finally jumped in and started posting, picked up a few viewers, but wasn't consistent. Last year I thought about how much fun I had recording my garden and sharing pictures, knowledge and videos of my garden, so I just jumped in with a monthly challenge(didn't make it through the full 30 days), and picked up 1 or 2 subscribers a week. The challenge was really fun, unfortunately I got sick and had to cut the challenge short. But yeah....just start, have fun and your tribe will find you. Much success to all of y'all!

Editing videos is literally such a fun hobby to me, once you get over the fear of being seen it becomes really fun- numbers aside too

I think growth on RUclips in 2024 is about niching down & being consistent for sure. But, this was an interesting video. You shouldn't be embarrassed by your content. The fact they're supporting you and watching is awesome honestly.
Yes, I just started mine recently and I’ve been consistent posting 1 to 5 videos on a weekly basis. I create content every week post every week and I have a niche.
