      Same here but why bother: just go to some Metal/Hard, Rock Concerts, or Gig, there you'll find like minded Metal brothers!
      And remember there've been Studies for years now that assert that Metalheads are the happiest music lovers, so Bang you head while finding Metal bros that you can talk to at any Metal event, as there's nothing like finding like minded Metalheads since Metal music lovers don't discriminate about ones socio-economic status.
      I've found great friends at Metal concerts, and we know that they're honest down to earth people.

    The worst thing for me as a music fan is that the CD sections in the stores are getting smaller and smaller. It was so much fun to browse the shelves for cheap CDs and new releases. Buying albums online is not the same. I also hate it when bonus tracks are included on re-releases. For me, it destroys the integrity and the artistic statement of an album. There's a reason why the bonus tracks didn't end up on the original album. You can usually hear that. I prefer the bonus tracks to be on a separate CD.

    • @mansurkhan2764
      @mansurkhan2764 4 месяца назад +2

      1. Yes, its almost scary that everything is digitilised now. It almost put musicians out of business and makes us all far too dependent on the net, even for ordering CDS. Remember the phrase: "you'll be happy & own nothing"!
      2. I HATE BONUS TRACKS on esp. (classical) albums. Even more so, if they are interspersed and not the last song(s).
      Even worse are demo tracks posing as bonus tracks, I mean hello, demo tracks were never supposed to be released in the 1st place; its a cheap way for Labels to make extra bucks by enticing fans with so-called bonus tracks that are Demos or rehearsal tracks!

    • @mansurkhan2764
      @mansurkhan2764 4 месяца назад +2

      Definitely Metal Brother, I hate demo bonus tracks in general. Who needs a half or quarter finished song that's in its raw form. However, there are exceptions to the rule; I wouldn't mind legendary Demos (entire Demos) like "Power in Black" by Overkill, or "Death by Metal" by Death , or "No Life till Leather" by Metallica, as bonus tracks! But what's really annoying are bonus tracks thrown into esp. Classical Albums, for example, a version of the Iron Maiden classic album "Killers" has a song titled "Twilight Zone" as number 10 on it, while the last song is Drifter, on the original album "Twilight Zone" doesn't exist on the original CD. If the makers of the Remastered CD had at least put Twilight Zone on it as the last song it wouldn't have been as bad, but putting it as the 2nd last song really Ruins the atmosphere of the whole classic album.
      The same happened to The Number of the Beast, where "Total Eclipse" appears as song number 8, while it doesn't at all apear on the original album, worst of all is that it thus appears before the classic Song Hallowed be Thy Name"; this totally ruins the atmosphere of this classical album. The makers of these Iron Maiden classics should have simple followed the style of the 1st Remastered Judas Priest albums released in 2001, where none of the bonus tracks where put into the albums, instead they were all added after the last song of thost classic Priest CDs.

    being a metalhead is awesome but a lot of people think metal is nothing more than screaming/Growling which is not true at all. My parents are into 50/60's Rock & Roll. They don't understand why I love metal so much. I keep telling them that I love guitar solos and the music makes me feel I can do anything. They care about the lyrics in their music then the music itself. so, they can do sing a longs lol. P.s I do love Screaming/Growling in my metal lol.

    The worst thing is all the mainstream followers! They don’t love music, they just want to hear what’s “in” so they can stay socially relevant with “friends”!
    The second worst thing is the people who want to trash music without ever giving it a chance! You know how many love to trash metal & they never actually listened to it! We have a record store owner who does that & it actually hurts his business! When you limit to a certain demographic, you keep your business at its minimal performance! I told him there is good metal & bad metal, just like their is good 60’s rock & garbage 60’s music! He refuses to be open minded!

    To me the two worst things are:
    The hate and disrespect you get for having difference of opinions
    And
    Not having enough spending money to get everything i want lol
    I'll also add the lack of access to buying physical cds, around me there are alot of great places to look for used cds but no guarantee you'll find what you're looking for. 20 years ago places like walmart, target, or the mall all had at least descent music selections

    Being in a big rush to purchase something before it’s gone/out of print (which goes back to my first comment below). Frontiers Records is a perfect example of this. Say a band like Stryper releases a new album, you better order it fairly quickly because in 6 months to a year, they will stop pressing any new copies and now later, if you want a new, mint copy you might end up paying considerably more on eBay for it.

    what i like about collecting is that when i was a kid all i knew was hit songs from a few bands and that was it, but now i am buying all the albums that come with the song i used to love and be blasted away by all those other songs that are equal if not better and it happens every single time, and that's why my collection mostly has like 4 main genres, instrumental, opera, indie and rock from the early 2000 when i first discovered i was a rock kid thanks to my first PSP that came with a demo umd with a few rock songs and that one time my dad came home with a spindle of CD-R with 3 cd filled to the brim with mp3 music that made me who i am today.

    What about the 'newish' fad of taking a single album disc and re-releasing it on 2 discs, with perhaps only 2 or 3 tracks per side. I am trying to avoid these (even though they are newer and mint), just because of having to get up and flip the disc every 12-15 mins rather than every 25 mins.

    • @mansurkhan2764
      @mansurkhan2764 4 месяца назад +1

      If you're writing about CDs then this is total B.S. (Bad Science); I mean then its like having Vinyl, where you've to flip the darn thing after 1 side is done playing. The whole idea of CDs is that you can have up to 80 minutes of uninterrupted music on them without any turning over the CD (Disc)!
      But I guess you're talking about vinyl, the type of the Remastered (direct Metal Mastering), which is done for better sound quality.

    My first two collections were destroyed by a hurricane in 1992 and stolen in 1997. So I stopped collecting. Both collections had a little over a thousand CDs. Last summer I had 5 CDs when I decided I was finally going to start back. A year later I am at 1,235 CD's and 97% of those are $1 finds from Goodwill and the local record store. I've averaged about a 100 CDs a month. One reason is I just can't afford to go out and buy new or higher priced used ones. The other is the thrill of the hunt. This year I'm hitting Garage Sales also. Last week was my biggest haul to date with 70 CDs and they were all artists from the late 70's and through the 80's rock. My worst thing about being a music fan is that my tastes in music crosses so many "genres" it's hard not to be able buy everything that I like that I come across.

    • @mansurkhan2764
      @mansurkhan2764 4 месяца назад

      Amazing that you got them so cheap, and happy hunting: it's good to know that you can replace a CD collection for relatively little cash if necessary with plenty of used CDs.
      I've also started buying far more used CDS in the last 1 or so.
      And remember you can't do that with Vinyl, one of the main reason I don't buy vinyl anymore at all: it's way to expensive and loses sound quality every time you play it.😂

    Yeah you definitely might want to look into the insuring your stuff. Back in 2009 I was living in a 3 family house in Brooklyn and the family on the middle floor sparked a fire with a space heater than caused tons of damage of course to my apartment because if anyone has had or been involved in a fire, the firefighters smash everything, if they think fire is spreading through the walls, they smash walls and demolish everything and they did so I had tons of cds and rare stuff imports cd singles tons and tons were lost or water damaged, and I was not insured and some kind of a check would have been nice to rebuild or get new copies of things.

    One thing that you guys touched on regarding visiting record stores in the past and them being full of all kinds of imports made me think of another thing that sucks.
    Maybe this is just me, but when I'm in a store that has some history, I know almost for a fact that if there's something I'm really looking for, chances are that a copy of it has been through those doors at some point, then I start wondering if it landed in the right hands, was it looked after and appreciated, where is it now?

      I've to actually say honey I'm going to listen to music, which means I roll my 2 JBL PARTYBOX'S 1000s into the living room, as they've got wheels, so that I can enjoy my Heavy Metal Mayhem, lol then roll 'em back into my study, cause obviously they can't be in the living room!
      The irony is that I bought our 3 bedroom Apartment. Purchased a 3 story house recently and she's already planned where all the furniture will go while my study is now way smaller than the one in the Apartment 😂 I'm almost 20 years older than she is, but learned that if you've got hypertension it's best not too have constant conflicts over music, lol. Maybe what I'm trying to insinuate is make sure your life partner/spouse likes the same or similar music or at least tolerates your musical taste😊
      And if you're single enjoy your music as much as you want and can because once your in a serious relationship things can change for the worse music wise.
      Now, I listen to music, mostly, when driving to work and back blasting it, lol.
