I’ve never liked Abby never. The moment I saw a clip of Dance Moms when I was 15 I decided that was too much. I was traumatized just by watching that fucked up show. And seeing how their dance teacher screamed at them and made them be ashamed of their appearance or any other things we can’t do a thing about. Maddie has absolute right to distance herself no doubt I would do the same.
That's a lie, I have heard Maddie and other girls give credit to Dance Moms for getting them started. Maybe Abby should slam herself for the way she treated these girls. She used Maddie to get recognition for herself and the studios, especially the LA one. You can't blame their parents for separating the girls from Abby when her treatment of them was abuse and then also her legal problems. Now that they are grown, how can you be upset with any of them for choosing not to be around her. Maddie has grown into a wonderful, smart and talented young woman and she works hard. I think Abby is just mad because she wanted to make lots of money off of Maddie.
I bet she’s just jealous of maddie’s success and she wanted that money from her
I think its pretty 50/50 because she never mentions abby or dance moms she just says "the show i was on" she mostly gives credit to sia in the last few years but she still anknowledges her dance moms past
Hm Maddie seems to try and steer away from it as much as possible in my opinion, and she will never directly address it it’s always ‘the show I was on’. She will only mention it when put on the spot and I don’t think i’ve ever heard her mention Abby. She’s obviously got some bad memories but I do think Abby and the show did do an awful lot in promoting her for her career, I’ve heard the other girls have more gratitude even the ones tested much worse.
@@LucyAnna7384In the interview Abby reacted to, Maddie literally said that Abby helped her and trained her. At the end of the day, Sia was the reason Maddie blew up so much, not Abby or production. You can argue Abby deserves some credit because she fought with production to let Maddie go to work with Sia (which is another can of worms because Abby also said the girls weren’t in contract so they could ‘leave whenever they wanted’ so that directly contradicts) but the only reason Maddie got bigger than many of the other girls had nothing to do with Abby or production. They didn’t actively promote her to Sia and Sia herself said that she didn’t like Abby and saw how toxic the show was.
It’s sickening to me that Abby is trying to guilt trip her way into the Zieglers lives. Being hurt now doesn’t justify years of mistreatment. Abby said it herself “you’re not entitled to anything in this world.” The Zieglers and all of the dancers got to fame because of the show and because their dancing made people love them. Not because of Abby. At the end of the day they were co-stars on a show. Abby’s not entitled to anything.
Look Abby you may have helped her get started but she doesn't have to give you all the credit. It's her talent the over all is what they are looking for. If you paid for something then that your choice. It doesn't mean she owes you. All it means is that you saw potential and help along the way. Grow up. Leave those children alone. Do your job as a dance teacher and stop trying to tell everyone that you have to be heard and take all the credit.

Absolutely under no circumstances should @maddieziegler feel obligated to that person. I’ve recently done a rewatch and a deep dive, and those children were 100%, without a doubt mentally, emotionally, and sometimes even physically abused by that woman. Maddie is an amazing human being to be as well-adjusted as she seems to be. Good on her!
we might know her as maddie from dance moms but others remember her as the little girl from chandelier so a lot of ppl don’t even recognize dance moms like that
It’s no wonder why maddie pretended she wasn’t on the show! That show was extremely toxic for her and the other kids that were on the show. Abby would pressure maddie, put her on the pedestal, guilt trip her, never appreciated the fact that she was getting famous, and did a lot more sh*t to the other kids as well. So I don’t blame maddie and the others for distancing themselves from Abby. Shame on Abby because she basically ab*sed those poor kids.
i think she could've at least sent abby a get well soon card or something when she was in the hospital but also, maddie's paid her respects to dance moms and moved on. i dont think she needs to keep saying thank you all the time

Although that would be nice, it wouldn’t have been smart. If Maddie reached out to Abby with even a get well card, Abby would try to get herself back into Maddie’s life. Which is the last thing she needs.

There is always 2 sides to every story, Abby only sees how she helped promote Maddie, trained her and paid to help her, which gave her a big boost in her career, but Maddie clearly has been left with some traumatic memories that she struggles to over come. I think Abby just wants Maddie to show some more gratitude like being more open about talking about her and the show, but Maddie would rather not have her in her life what so ever and would rather never mention dance moms unless asked, which is important to her mental health. However from Abby point of view it comes off ungrateful, but Abby needs to have some self reflection as alot of things she did do was mentally scarring.
Maddie was ever so grateful. Even in her memoir too. Abby is just being nasty all cos mads dint wanna talk to her no more
The Zieglers and also others payed a lot of money to have dance lessons at Abby Lee so why she take credit .

tbh i can see both sides of the story. abby lee traumatized maddie, so maddie tries not to talk about dance moms. abby on the other hand, doesn’t see how she hurt them, and only they benefited from her. so, she gets hurt when they don’t thank her for how much she has done for them.
Mom could have taken them out anytime. She is ungrateful, and very spoiled.

They were in a contract, so no, the mom couldn’t have taken them out.
@@lynnmealy6377 actually no she couldnt, they had something called a contract and once the 6 years were up they left. So no her mom couldnt just have "pulled her out" of the dance studio and the show

Dance moms was severely fcked up in many aspects, cast members have talked many times about how toxic it was and how much it affected them negatively to the point of being traumatized, I wouldn't blame Maddie or anyone at all if they didn't want to talk about it anymore (+ Abby stills get credited a lot )
Coming from a watchers point of view what Maddie’s doing might look bad. But if I was in Maddie’s position I would most likely do the same.

Abby has made them who they are today so of course they should be a bit more grateful. Also, did anyone else notice how rude Maddie was when she was younger, even to Mackenzie? I mean, we all saw her reaction to Chloe being picked for the callback over her, didn't we? Maddie also never congratulated her teammates on set and was once caught being very cocky whilst saying that she was the best. This is why everyone was so fed up with Maddie being at the top of the pyramid all the time as she never congratulated anyone else when / if they were at the top so Abby deserves a lot more recognition because without her I wouldn't even know who Maddie is.

I feel like half of abby is right because she was the one that helped maddie build a career and helped her become famous. But i also believe that she distanced herself from abby due to all the things that went on during the show
i get abby was terrible to the girls and caused trauma but that doesnt take away from the fact that she taught them how to dance and was the person who choreographed all their winning solos. My point is that yes she's bad but deserves SOME credit for their ability to dance and act or get jobs today.
Yeah, give credit to the person that abused and manipulated you and now you have PTSD and body dysmorphia because of her and the producers because she teach you how to dance and paid your acting classes 👍🏼
I understand that Maddie doesn't like dance moms. but she was clearly the fav, and every other dancer can talk about it without being uncomfortable. It's fine that she doesn't give Abby 100% credit, that's good! But Abby still started her career paid, for her acting lessons, made her famous, etc. Abby deserves a little credit

Maddie knows nobody would care who she was if she wasn't a beautifully trained dancer from Abby Lee Dance Studio who made it on a 'reality' t.v. show. Well without Abby, they wouldn't be rich right now. Abby loved Maddie, so much. Abby is tough, she was trying to get the best out of them, but I do realize Abby could be really loving and sometimes abusive. I would forgive Abby, because she did have great intentions for the girls. I wouldn't have treated Abby like they did. Abby was sick in the hsp, almost died and they never came to visit her, that's cold. How many people think that they would already be multi-millionaires' right now, if they didn't meet Abby? They're super stars because of Abby's show.

She has expressed multiple times how grateful she is of Dance Moms despite all the trauma the producers, and Abby gave her. Which is why she doesn't talk about the show anymore, she doesn't want to relive and remember that experience. We don't know what she's been through
Maddie has thanked Abby multiple times in interviews and even were a section in Abby’s book. What more do you want her to do, make a shrine for her and pray daily?
Do you not realize how traumatic dance moms was for her? Maddie’s been through a lot as much as those other girls has and she still gave credit to the show all the time
