Good work as always. It’s not too bad, but the flares and busy bokeh put me off a bit. I have just tested the 28-85 f4 and while it’s not as good as 35-105 f3.5 it’s not too far off the mark. Keep them coming!
Currently, I do not own modern zoom lenses anymore. But, in my vintage lenses collection there are two zooms and one is this 35-70mm. In the next future I'm going to add another standard vintage zoom from Olympus or Nikon.
Ironically the best FD zoom is actually the Tamron Adaptall-2 SP 01A 35-80mm F/2.8-3.8. Tied for 2nd place is the 28-85mm nFD F4 and the 35-70mm F/2.8-3.5. Sadly the Canon zooms all use rubber internal guides instead of Teflon, so they all fail eventually. The Tamron 017A 35-70 F/3.5 is also an amazing lens.
@@MarcoAries I had not either until six months ago😁 I tested literally every "normal" FD zoom Canon made. I wanted a compact lense with good macro and build quality. It turns out that doesn't exist... unless you get the Tamron 01A or 17A.
Well. I see it beautiful.A little contrasty, but very acceptable. What lens do you think is very good and cheap. A lens that I recommend is the Nikon AIS 28mm f2.8...Superb lens...but no so cheap -250...300 dolars. Thanks.
I don't understand why people obsess over Nikon lenses and keep the prices higher than other brands, and I've tired a number of Nikkors... Anyway, a cheap lens that I think is very good? Asahi Pentax M 50 1.7 & 135 3.5, or Canon FD 28 2.8, 50 1.8 and 135 3.5.
@@MarcoAries +I have the AI 50mm f1.8, a very sharp lens, and the AIS 28mm is better, my opinion. I think the color rendition is better but be careful with the flares...Lights must not be in the frame .
I have the Canon FD 35-105mm f3.5. I think its pretty good and similar to this lens though I hate the normal minimum focus distance of 5 feet. Have you ever used that lens?
Not yet, haven't even seen one for sale yet. I tried the Pentax version and that had a close focus feature, although at the cost of image quality, if I remember correctly.
@@MarcoAries they definitely seem to be getting bought up and increasing in price. I was going to sell mine a few years ago then saw people raving about them and and hesitant to sell it as I already let my FD 20mm f2.9 SSC go for $150 only to see it skyrocket in price.
@@classic.cameras it’s an amazing video lens of not for the lack of close focusing and rotating front element. Very pleasing image otherwise. More so than Pentax.
I like it... but I've always had a mental block against lenses that doesn't have a constant maximum aperture through the zoom range. I avoid them! Probably more emotional than rational.
Good job Marko as always.
Thank you!

I still haven't had the chance to try any Tamron lenses...

Well, now we know, thanks! 😉
Funny you should say that as watching this video made me think that I have two copies of that lens and I’m yet to test it!
Fantastisk, lige hvad jeg søgte efter 😊😊
Glad it was useful!

@@MarcoAries Thanks, I agree, but this Ais nikon is superb and you´re right: expensive!. I´ll get the Pentax. Subscribed.
@alexced3923 Eventually I'd like to try it and compare it to the Ai to see how much they differ, 'cause the Ai I tried was very good.

'Lo-Fi' might be the perfect name for a series of zoom kit lens reviews. tyvm!
...or most lenses made before the '70s 😄

Yeah, some times it does feel like there's too many people with deep pockets...

I did a reveiw of the 35-105 f3.5. It is a decent zoom.

Understandable 😁 I don't mind variable aperture on digital, but I find it annoying when I'm shooting on film
I am over the stage where everything must be oversharp. I like the softness at f4.5. I would almost say its filmlike. Its not, but it is.
Yes, I get what you mean!
