I just placed an order for one of these from your website and I'm so excited to receive it! I previously received one as a tissue culture plant (from someone else) that went downhill over the first day or two since I got it. The leaves are slowly starting to turn brown. I rinsed off the gel, soaked it in an antifungal solution, and placed it in 3 inch pot under a dome, under grow lights. Any idea how to save this plant? I was able to get a refund but I'd still love to save it if possible!
LOVE the variegated banana! What an absolutely stunning plant, and WOW the variegated banana peels! Do you (or does anyone here) have any recommendations for acclimation from shipping for these? I have heard that they are not fond of shipping, and it takes a while to bring them back, but not sure how universal that is. I definitely hope to have one of these beauties one day :).
This is a great question, and I wish I had a better answer than simply to give it time. I really stressed out this one in the video, and the only thing that brought it back was 2 weeks of ideal conditions 😄
Would you also keep this one in LECA inside your home if you had a nice large one to place in a large pot in like you said? :)

Do the rhizomes actually grow? I’ve heard they can only be propagated by pups.
This is musa florida, or dang florida or AEAE florida. its different to the Hawaiian AE AE. Musa florida is a diploid, has 2 genomes, one from each parent (AA) Whereas the true AEAE is a triploid AAA. 2 genomes from one parent and one from the other. This is very rare and sought after as its not TC yet. its also considered the royal banana. You can easily tell them apart via fruit but if its TC its always a Florida.

@prettyingreen what is the likelihood of a variegated Musa banana rhizome (purchased from Etsy) being variegated? Is there any chance or a high chance of there being zero variegation?
I've seen rhizomes be all green, all white, and perfectly balanced! All pretty common! Least likely is perfectly balanced
Do you know how big they are and they are fruiting as in regular banana?

I bought a TC variegated musa, but it turned fully variegated.. do you have any tips to keep it alive?
@@bonita7188 that’s so tough. I’m sorry :/ Ideally it will sprout another shoot from the rhizomes. That’s really the only hope since there’s no nodes above the ground
