That silver signal was getting lost in all the iron once you opened the hole...Good work stickig with it and pulling the nails out...I had a few targets that have disappeared on me...That place sounds like my backyard when running the explorer wide open...It picks up everything..
It really is another insight as to what we battle sometimes, how that many bad things get into the ground is frustrating to say the least! What it comes down to is that the signal was there to start, it MUST be in there now. That’s where the trust in the machine comes in, it has to be very high to keep going til you find it. The X-1 probe really helps in that category but it is a little extra weight, which I’m obviously trying to avoid in the first place. So we just pick out nails until we find it! Good to see you’re still getting on with the SE….🤠
Thanks NG! You KNOW it ain’t easy! The ONLY way ANYONE is going to get ANYTHING out of this place is to “be one”. Even after many hundreds of hours with this machine it continues to amaze me in many ways!
Can you please teach me how to modify my explorer 2? I have had this machine since it was new. I bought the minelab harness but would rather modify like yours. I would be so grateful if you can send me list of parts needed and instructions. Thank you!
Hey hey! GREAT to hear you are getting the setup together! I have NO idea why the FBS extension cable from Coiltek is no longer available. The cable that Serious Detecting offers for the GPZ, GPX, etc is NOT the same, I know this firsthand for those who might be thinking it is. It plugs in, but is jumper wired internally, not a straight through cable. When you get your setup done let me know what you think of it. I absolutely ADORE mine, just fun to use!
@@davidfrazier1186 Hey David…great to hear the cable is a “GO”! Once you have the screws out of the handle halves and there are no more screws to take out (and you’ve checked carefully to be SURE) the control pod and housing are assembled with some kind of bionic adhesive Minelab used. It’s some tough stuff! I can say that if you use a hair dryer on HI and try to keep the heat on the handle itself without heating up the control box directly it should help to separate the two. I had to also use a big regular blade screwdriver as a wedge/lever to get them to come apart. The control pod will take some heat, I wouldn’t worry too much about that part but if you can do it by just hearing the handle up you shouldn’t have any worries. Much past that…I know a guy who did this mod and just cut the handle off flush with the control pod. Not technically “as clean” a job but it got done. Just be patient with it, they do separate, although pretty grudgingly.
This is one crazy place DeWayne, you know the kind😃 The kind of place you hate but can’t help yourself? Yeah, that one. Can’t wait til the box shows up….🙂
Hello! Whenever I use the Explorer I do NOT turn on either one. So, Deep and Fast are both always OFF. Take care and thanks for watching! The Explorer is a GREAT machine!
Nice dig Kevin. Having faith in your machine is important. More than once I’ve had that happen. You just know that there was a coin there in spite of the nails
The insane part is that I could’ve spent another 5 minutes picking pieces of nails and metallic nonsense out of the spoil and hole! After all this time I still don’t fully understand HOW the machine is doing it, I really don’t.
@@wizardsofwisconsin7400 I do have the 17 I have not switched yet cause I'm still learning that machine but I will be eventually. Nothing that I found in the manual even mentions anything about switching. I thank you brother, your friend in Florida.
@@leroyg24 You are of course welcome Leonard! Just switch them out and it will not change a thing. Be aware that with the larger coil when you are digging a 6” coin it will register as it being a bit deeper, maybe 7” or 8” in some cases. It’s just calibrated to the stock coil so it’s a bit off when using the other coils. Have fun with it!
Sir I subbed to you 2months ago. You ma friend are a Fucking scientist with the ctx3030. I hope that you will be doing more vids with that I'm in the very early learning stages with mine. Glad your back and awesome find in all that contamination. I'm in Florida and your vids have helped me in learning. .
I appreciate your kind words Leonard! If there is ONE thing I will repeat over and over again to a newer user of ANY of the machines I have posted videos on….it is to TRUST it. The minute I start thinking that I’m smarter than the CTX is the exact moment my hunt goes right in the toilet. Run it STABLE and TRUST it. Hopefully I’ll have time to get out more this fall, good luck in the meantime!
Is that not absolutely CRAZY? Believe it or not, out of the videos I’ve posted, one of the other ones on the EX2 is the one with the most views! That tells me something, and that “something” is that people are interested in it. For good reason too.😃

💥👍😃, Congrats....Hi I found a connector I will send it off this week to have it wired, is 3 feet about the right length, David

FBS still amazes me on what it can do!
With the correct person driving of course.
