MBUX shows you a new world of infotainment. Intuitively controllable by voice, touch or gesture. Seamlessly integrated into your digital life and customizable with display styles. The fascination with MBUX also increases with every trip, because the system is capable of learning and adapts itself individually to the driver.
MBUX is used in the entire new compact car generation from Mercedes-Benz and will enter series production in spring 2018 in the new A-Class. Its highlight is the comprehensive touch operation concept - the combination of a touchscreen, touchpad on the centre console and Touch-Control Buttons in the steering wheel. In addition to the intuitive operating experience, less driver distraction is another advantage.
The operating system on the free-standing Widescreen Cockpit comprises three levels with increasing information density:
On the first level you find what is known as the Homescreen. This is where, alongside the freely selectable main applications (e.g. telephone, navigation and radio), the most important information (such as arrival time, song currently being played etc.) is displayed.
The next level - the Basescreen - with the display and controls for one main application respectively, such as Media and Navigation, is only one step away. The most important information and control options respectively are attractively presented at this level. Important functions such as destination or music search are grouped at the bottom edge of the screen.
For seldom-used information and settings there is the Submenu on the final level.
Operation is horizontal and makes optimum use of the widescreen format of the display. The fully digital instrument cluster can be configured virtually entirely according to personal preferences. As an alternative to the classic speed display in the left-hand tube, displays such as Analog Clock, From Start, From Reset, Range or Information on the current radio station / media title can be placed there. In the right-hand tube, in addition to the rev counter, an assistance graphic, the current consumption, the ECO display or a navigation map can also be displayed.
Conventional voice control systems in cars call for certain fixed commands from their users. Thanks to natural speech recognition, MBUX's LINGUATRONIC, on the other hand, obeys virtually every command, recognises and understands nearly all sentences from the fields of infotainment and vehicle operation. For example, “Will the sun be shining tomorrow in Miami? ” is now as easily understood as “Do I need sunglasses tomorrow in Miami? ”. The intelligent language assistance is activated either via a button on the steering wheel or with the keyphrase “Hey Mercedes”.
The voice control is also capable of learning. On the one hand it attunes to the user and her voice and also understands non-native speakers better; on the other hand the software models on the server learn new buzzwords or changing use of language with time. The system also no longer answers stereotypically, but varies in the dialogue output too.
Alongside the intelligent voice assistance the MBUX operating concept includes a touchscreen. The new A-Class is the first Mercedes ever to have such a touch-sensitive screen. This touchscreen is part of the comprehensive touch-control concept - a triad consisting of the touchscreen, touchpad and Touch-Control Buttons. With the touchpad on the centre console the information in the media display can be changed intuitively as on a smartphone. The contents can simply be enlarged or moved, and in particular the navigation map can be zoomed in and out, via gestures with several fingers. A haptic feedback accompanies every input. The touchpad also recognises handwriting. This means that addresses or telephone numbers can be input conveniently.
New and improved Mercedes me connect services are being launched with the new infotainment generation MBUX. These include, among others, navigation functions based on Car-to-X communication (information on road conditions such as slippery roads or snow or approaching emergency vehicles is shown on the map) and vehicle locating, which makes finding a parked vehicle easier, as well as a message in case something has bumped into the parked vehicle or it has been towed away. The Mercedes me App sends a reminder to leave on time so as to arrive at the next appointment punctually, taking traffic conditions into account.

The old clickety rotary wheel is better than touch pad - progress not good sometimes- not all cars have this spec- will drive us seniors insane 😱😱

Nicolae you can get this as an option if i remember it is the bigger one and more expensive.
those are the older models. look for 2021 models of GLA!
Does the CLA250 2020 have this navi/map on it, if so, how do I do it, is there a chip or something needed to be preinstalled or what, I'm only seeing the map when I plug my Android or iPhone in…

Hi. Love the video. But on the driver display when I press home all the options are there but not navigation. I have navigation on my car I can use it on the media screen but it is not in my driver display screen. Do you know how I can make it appear? Thanks. A Class 2018 premium plus

The full Map it’s only if you have code 549 and you get this if you have optional U19 (augmetend real view) or optional PBP (energizing pack) if you don’t have one of this 2 optional you’ll have Coda 548 for your system MBUX

@@TrInAcRiO1 Ciao Emanuele, purtroppo no il codice 549 si ottiene soltanto in abbinamento al pacchetto energizing o alla realtà aumentata e non puoi installarti aftermarket. Ed è soltanto una funzione per i modelli Mercedes col doppio schermo (quindi non è presente sul GLC).
Cosa che ho fatto fatica a scoprire anch’io che faccio il product expert Mercedes nessuno mi sapeva dare una risposta esatta. O codice PBP o U19 ed avrai nella tua configurazione con la voce sistema multimediale MBUX il 549 se hai il 548 purtroppo non puoi avere il full NAVI sul cruscotto.
@@TheCrunchpower grazie, leggevo di persone che sono andate in mercedes e hanno detto che :"Allora questa mattina sono stato in Mercedes per chiedere info proprio su questa cosa della visualizzazione della mappa sul display di sinistra e mi hanno detto che con l'ultimo aggiornamento hanno tolto questo tipo di visualizzazione per una questione di sicurezza. In effetti visualizzando la mappa si perde una info indispensabile e cioè il tachimetro: deve essere sempre visualizzabile la velocità.
Questo è quello che mi hanno detto.
Per quanto riguarda il sistema multimediale MBUX per la visualizzazione dei video (SA-549), a loro sembra strano che sulla mia A premium non ci sia. La prossima settimana devo lasciargliela in modo che controllano ed eventualmente aggiornano. "

Do you find that the steering wheels blocks the lower left corner of the center display? I test drove the GLB and this really detracted me from wanting the vehicle. And it looks like it might be doing that here too.
Maybe a little bit but for me was fine.
The steering wheel blocks the part of where the cockpit temperature is on the driver side. There are other issues though one of the biggest is the track pad in the center. If you or anything else touches it it will change your screen contents. And it's hard to avoid because it protrudes from the center console. Same with the track pads on the steering wheel if you brush them by accident they switch contents of the screen in front of you. But the real deal breaker is the uncomfortable seats.
@@pawelzieminski6717 thank you. All of this just confirmed my decision to not get one because all these things but especially the seats! No comfortable at all! Maybe it’s because I’m 5’1” but I find that ridiculous for any car, not just luxury. My shoulders didn’t even touch the back of the seat. 👎🏼

Is there a way to change the volume default settings, doesn't seem loud enough when I'm playing music through Bluetooth or USB
I think yes you have to search in sound settings 👍
If your mobile device is on a low volume setting the car will copy that setting. So turn up the volume on the phone. you will be deafened mind you?

I have a GLA and I’m not impressed with the navigation system because it’s not accurate. Just yesterday I arrived at my destination while this navigation system was telling me to drive 1 extra mile. If I wouldn’t know the area, I’d be lost and wasting time.
Truth is the only accurate map is Google map and that also have some problem 👍👍
SDA Dan Cars I had good performance from Garmin GPS. These luxury brands should just buy license from Google and Garmin instead of making their own navigation that is never good.

No.. no it is not. Navigation alone is $550 US. No navigation is worth that much when it should’ve came with the car. You’re better off using CarPlay/Android Auto. The only cool thing is the Augmented reality.

*Only recently discovered after having one for almost a year, you can say "Hey Mercedes My Bum is Cold" {this is true, MBUX users try it - but you can say what song is playing with a USB Flash Card} and Mrs Mercedes will reply "You are listening to **_Alfie Boe, A Nightingale sang in Berkeley Square_** Hi Mercedes Play next track, OK I am playing Michael Ball singing 'Tulips from Amsterdam' [if you have named that track as such, he is actually singing I Dreamed a Dream from Les Misérables] but it makes passengers ROFL, you can also ask what's the Weather Forecast on Tuesday next week in 'Santa Monica' it will give you a daily report, with highs & lows, or if not stated will be aware of your exact location and give details for that. Also will detect if you are Petrol or Diesel and give you fuel Prices in area. Many other tricks as well - truly amazing.*
