    I really do not agree with your decision to go protestant. Catholic nations eventually get warscore vs. other religions from the Council of Trent and while you can't use it in Europe that much, I think it is not worth missing out on the last 5% diplo annex cost from the pope. The whole point of stacking diplo annex cost is to get to -100% imo. I think the -95% you showed in the end really did not sell the point of diplo annex stacking very well. You could have at least picked up the temporary diplo annex mod in the Austrian mission tree from spreading your dynasty (you can do it by putting relatives on thones of subjects).

      @@Fel-cr6xs You make a solid point either way, I forgot about the council of Trent effects. I certainly think there is much room for improvement upon this idea.

      Besides unique world conquests, -100% diplo annex cost in combination with personal unions can be used to tag switch without unstating or to switch religion. Even as a relatively large nation, you can give all your land to a pu and still annex them within a few months. You can stack -100% temporary pretty easily as Austria and then go sunni or mayan.

    Why are you so entertaining? I’ve watched all your videos multiple times. You should put out some more general or advanced guide videos. You are one of the only ones who regularly tag switches and would love an in depth video on planning those out, which modifies you plan to stack, which countries are good for which tag switches. That type of thing. I’m never gonna attempt a WC cause I get bored after absolutism but it would be very cool to see wild tag switch games

    As Castile I'd always like to focus on Diplo Vassaling Navarra right from the beginning (you have to get it before Aragon's ruler dies). Better to integrate them in 10 years than to stuck with an OPM PU for 50 years after you get them through Aragon.
    Added EDIT; also Venice would have remained a Great Power for a year after falling off the bottom of the list, so you probably could've got to the 50% with them.

    Wow, I am learning a lot from your videos. For me, the Aragon > Spain run is more fun having tried Castile, more focused on the Mediterranean (and the Atlantic) and not having to worry about Britain and the HRE. I vassalized the Knights and gave them a lot of the eastern Mediterranean as a march. Nothing like 12k Knights Hospitaller showing up in Mexico all of a sudden!

    I do like the vassal swarm of castille, so i preffer to PU england later, and works on the PUs of naples/portugal/aragon/burgundy/austria meanwhile.
    Vassalize Navarra on the first year for a shorter annexation time is good too.
    And I minmax austria, so i can have hungary/bohemia as PUs
    For france/ottomans is the usual take and release subjects for the reconquest cbs

      This is an entirely different strategy though. He wants to form England, so waiting 100 years to get them to swap religions, then another 50 to integrate them, isn't viable.

    What is the pros of getting claim instead of PU england?

    • @Fel-cr6xs
      @Fel-cr6xs 9 месяцев назад +1

      If go for tag switching, you almost always want to include forming England. You only get the PU when england and you are of different religions, which can be quite late in to the game, i.e. in the age of Reformation. Since it is quite easy to fight England early in the game, there is no point in waiting for the pu and then another 40-50 years to annex them.

    • @sorsocksfake
      @sorsocksfake 8 месяцев назад +1

      It's rather a hassle. Bear in mind, PUs can't give you trade power, and he has to change religion, so you'd be in the late 1500's before you can integrate him for full benefits. England has some distance from Germany and different culture, so the AE should be manageable unless you're trying to directly conquer France (and for that, you can get Gascony and Toulouse, possibly Provence, at low AE too).
      Just improve relations with the Dutch and west germans and it should not present problems, I think.

    • @spatrk6634

      starting combat width is like 15 or something like that.
      meaning that only 15 units are able to fill front row during the battle.
      you want those units to be infantry and cavalry (a little bit more of your combat width because you want infantry reinforcements)
      artillery goes automatically into back row if front row is filled because they get hit with more damage if they are in front row.
      if you dont have infantry to reinforce front row in the battle, artillery will switch to front row when infantry starts to break without reinforcements and cannons will die sooner in front row

      and spain has ideas that gives you restoration of union cb on portugal.
