I recently sat beside my 89-year old grandma’s hospital bed as Jesus took her home and relieved her of an awful, gruelling battle with dementia. I have spent the bulk of the last 10 weeks of her life as her main family caregiver. The struggle and the unending fatigue has caused me to fall into substance use of which I am trying to snap out of… this song has been one of my favourites ever since I was 11 (21 now) … and it reminds me that no matter how alone I felt, I was never alone because God heard every cry, saw every tear and every frustration … thank you ❤. It is so powerful as a Christian to have the certainty of heaven and the knowledge she is no longer suffering. The grief I am experiencing will last a while, but it is not without God and songs like these, a great reminder it doesn’t matter what we do or how our days are going, God loves us that much.
He is our Good Shepherd and the door to eternity. May His presence encourage you and grant you rest as you recover from loss. Brother in Christ, He knows all of our ways and loves us through our many failings.
I love that song. I think I'm going to learn it and sing it at my church. Thanks for sharing Jesus. From another Kuykendall to you. Thanks for sharing Jesus and this music. God bless!
