I especially enjoyed seeing Ash as giddy as a little kid for the first fire. I so love it when you let us join in on fun things like that. I'm as keen as everyone to see the Chateau decorated, but seeing it becoming a home from an empty building is so satisfying.

If you buy a removalist trolley that has the 3 wheel system on each of the two sides of the bottom - you can use it to pull things up the stairs much easily. We have one and use it all the time for heavy items. They also generally have a strap that allows you to just pull it out and hook around the item - offering that extra stability. They are not very expensive and will make life so much easier.
That was very good advice. I didn’t know something like that is available. Also I did feel sorry for the father and mother who helped that stove. They are really troopers. I also think the fireplace looks much better without the large white tiles. Good job guys! Love the laughter!!!
I just love the four of you hard working people. I am SO glad that you share your life at the chateau on RUclips. I enjoy every moment of it. Thank you ❤️
Stay posting as you are. I love seeing you all weekly, with your family chats at the end. Splendid work progress. And Mom!, lugging that fire thing up all those stairs!! OMG! All you guys are great. Seeing Ash with the smoke from the chimney made me think that a Pope had been selected. LOL
You need a glass freight elevator through the middle of the turret/stairs to move heavy items and for when you get on in years. I love that you are doing this as a family. Cheering you all on from the States. Cheers!
So so proud of you all . What fantastic progress you have all made . Terry ,measure twice cut once ,or measure 4 times and get Ash to check it 😂😂. So you made the hole bigger for the fire ,but now you are not using it!!Why? . I favour 12 days of Christmas ,rather than daily . You have enough to do . Can’t wait till Wednesday,to see the cottage . That salon fire is lovely by the way . Hope Jonathon is ok miss him today .love to all as always xxxx
Or 2 thick long straps similar to what removal trucks use to strap down furniture that way 4 can still manage the weight without straining your backs, bending whilst weight bearing like that will kill your backs'
The fire brick that you put back into the fireplace looks really good. Hope you put it on the back wall, too. LOVE Ash's reaction to first fire. 12 days of Christmas, yes, yes, yes!!!!
I loved seeing Ash do his happy dance when you got the salon fire lit, I can't wait to see him when you get the one on the third floor going. It would be lovely to see a vlog for the 12 days of Christmas, seems more in keeping but happy with whatever you can manage
Really enjoying your progress on the renovations. I lived in Normandy France for 7 years and renovated an old village school. classroom became the living room and side entrance. Front part of house was for the teacher. We insulated it as best as possible but oil heating cost a fortune in 2008 and so bought a Villager AHI boiler stove that heated 10 rads. Hot water was a chauffe eau 200 litre jobby. The wood would cost £600 euro for the 7 months of heating. At the time with oil costing £60 a week. Living room was largest room of 35sqm with 4.1 metre ceiling hight. Used insulated board with around overall thickness of 50mm. With the stove the house was warm. Windows we bought at Gavraymat in Gavray. The rear 3 windows had made by them 2metres high by 1.8m wide. Hardwood and double glazed. Front windows 2metre high by 1.2m wide. Altogether around 6k euros. I enjoyed fitting them. What heating are you going to use as radiator fed boiler? Wood pellet, wood gasification? Or just use stoves.
Great job. As someone who has not had all of life's comforts ( indoor plumbing, windows that opened, cold house when I was young) you appreciate all these things so much and are always grateful. Every morning when it is warm, I say thank you Lord for this warm house. God bless all of you, and you will always treasure working with your family. I was very fortunate to work with mine for years, it's the greatest memory you can have.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. You really need to get the giant tube rubble remover that hangs out the window. You will break your backs trying to remove it by hand.
Just recently started following you wonderful people. Here's how move heavy things like your firebox. Lay planks over your stairs and slide it up. You can have people pushing, and people on top pulling. For the fireboxes, the people pulling can attach ropes to the item and pull from the top. If it is very heavy, use pulleys at the top (with brakes) to help pull. It's how farmers used to get hay into the barn lofts. 😃
Twelve Days would be great fun if you think you can do it without slowing your momentum getting yourselves settled in, warm and cosy, for the winter. Great seeing the amazing progress. The knowledge and energy of the four of you is awe inspiring!!
Tracy, there’s a product called Wilt Stop that comes in a spray bottle to spray your Christmas tree. It’s amazing how well it work on all types of evergreens to prolong the moisture in the tree/trees. It’s all natural oils that prevents the tree from drying out.
You guys are doing a brilliant job. Don't kill yourself doing daily posts through December. The 12 days would be a treat, but what you are doing now is fine.
I'm hesitant to use the word "accent" but among the reasons I enjoy watching/listening to your five-person chateau family so much is the melodious way you-all speak. To my American ears, some from the UK speak in a stilted way, others with a harsh accent but your way is almost musical at times. I assume this is a regional language trait, but it interests me.
Yes, but I do wonder about their allergy to the letter T, as in Cha-ough & Shu-er? But they do use with Tony Tracey & Terry. (Just Wondering)🐧💕 Such a hard working loving family!🌹💕
@@marshawargo7238 Hey Marsha, strange you should say that because as an English person i often notice the American aversion to the same letter! For 'British' or Britain It's nearly always Bridish or Bri'ain or Congradulations with a D sound - the D's for T's seems fairly consistent in a lot of speech. would you agree?
@@richardcully4869 That's regional I'd guess. I'm Californian and definitely pronounce my "T"s and haven't really noticed others don't. Might also be generational. I notice younger kids seem to speak less precisely. Language is a living thing though. Changes drastically through generations. Think of American English as spoken 250 years ago. Totally different from current sentence structure, pronunciation and usage. They would be appalled at our current way of speaking. 😄
I’ve watched your progress from the beginning and it’s just amazing what you’ve managed to achieve, you all work so hard. Great to see the fire in and alight - warmth at last. 🔥 🙌 I like the sound of the 12 Days of Christmas but whatever you decide to film will be lovely to watch. Best wishes from the UK xxx

A stair Walker looks like a good investment and a “rolling dolly” for pushing stuff around inside like oversized fire stoves 😉 great work everybody 👏❤️
